We are in the business of keeping your leather furniture and accessories soft and supple. This prevents your fine investment from cracking and chipping and give years of enjoyable use. Leather maintenance has been and is our primary business. We also clean leather garments & personal accessories, i.e. handbags. All work done on site. We offer terms as per agreement prior to services rendered. "We Save Your Hide" (R)

"Ross called within 15 minutes of texting him a picture of sectional. He was honest to a fault if anything. He told me that because of the color of the piece it would not make sense to attempt to restore it. He offered helpful advice and suggested cleaning and conditioning if we decide we want to keep it. I looked at the 1 bad review and am puzzled. My experience was quite the opposite"

1 years of experience

I am a home service professional with over 45 years of trade work in all aspects of construction. I was the Qualifying Managing Employee for a Construction company in Huntington Beach, Ca. for three years. I moved with my wife from Northern Nevada to be closer to her cousin and found there is a need for honest home repair professionals in the Phoenix Valley. It is an honor for me to be invited into your home to assist with any repair need.

"Chris McHale at Honest Hands Home Repair was hired to redo my shed, including new siding, roof decking, replacing and moving a door to another side of the shed, repainting, etc in order to ensure it was weather resistant and structurally sound. The work began on 05/08/2025 and still is ongoing due to the issues with the project as of today, 06/30. The project was originally quoted at about $2100-$2500 and was told the project would be completed within 3 days. The contractor, Chris, stated there would be no issues and he could do this project easily due to his extensive experience and said that he has done work like this many times and everything would be simple and straight forward. We asked if we could move the door which faced externally to another side of the shed to face internally and Chris at Honest Hands said there would be no issues doing so, I made sure to ask if that would compromise the structure and he stated that it wouldn't and there would be no issues moving the door. None of this project has been straight forward or simple. As stated above, the work started on 05/08 and was supposed to be completed within 3 days. We had a lot of issues with the project, primarily that the entire structure has light leaks, shakes, and overall the siding is not installed in a way to ensure weather resistance. While Chris has made multiple trips back out to try to increase the integrity of the structure to ensure it does not shake, nothing he has tried to do has worked. In addition, all his efforts to ensure he has sealed the shed and made it resistant to the elements has also been unsuccessful. When we asked for other contractors as well as our Homeowners Association, we were instructed that the entire shed - meaning all the work Chris at Honest Hands has completed, this includes new siding, roof decking, and framing, etc - would all need to be redone and no amount of repairs would bring the shed to functional, structurally sound, and installed correctly. Chris had attempted to fix the decking of the roof, and even that was fixed by my HOA in order for them to install the shingles of the roof. We were quoted $2,700 which includes all labor and material. We have no written contract with Chris at Honest Hands - only emails and text correspondence. We have been trying to work with Chris extensively to find a mutually agreeable experience, however this issue has now become a large stressor for myself and my family and have been continually trying to work with Chris and express our concerns - yet we are now being threatened by Chris McHale for the outstanding payment he claims he is owed. We initially paid Chris a deposit for $1,000. On May 10th, we informed Chris we would not pay his invoices in full until we had concerns addressed. He threatened us on 05/10 that if we did not pay him that he "would be forced to cancel a prepaid vacation and will be at [my] house on Monday" which even though we did not pay him, he of course did not show up that Monday. We emailed Chris again on 05/20 anticipating his return on 05/26 what our expectations and concerns were. He did return and attempted to correct and address our concerns, however he was unsuccessful. The issues outlined in our email persisted. He threatened us again on 06/05 saying he would send us to collection if we did not pay him the invoice - even though the concerns still have not been fully addressed. We felt as if we had no choice, given this man knows where we live and we did not want to incite any issues especially legally with being sent to collection, so we sent an additional $1,000 in good faith that Chris would return and complete the work needed in order to ensure the shed was structurally sound and protected from the elements. He also stated he would not return to fix our concerns until we paid him. At this point, we had received an invoice of $2,193.98 - we figured he would not send us to collections if we paid him an additional $1,000 hoping that he would come back and fix his installation issues for the additional $193.98. We felt forced to remit payment to Chris due to his threats of sending us to collections and in order to ensure our shed could be weather resistant to store our items which have been sitting outside since May 8th, 2025 until yesterday June 29th, 2025. Chris did return to try to fix his mistakes after the second payment of $1,000 was submitted, again, without success. As of 06/20 and 06/23 Chris is again threatening to send us to collections. To date, we have received over 5 different invoices of varying amounts ranging from the $2,193.98 to now being invoiced $2,874.69. Throughout this process, we have requested material receipts and have only received a portion of the receipts for the materials referenced in his invoices. To reiterate, we have had the shed reviewed by our HOA and other contractors. No amount of repairs will fix the issues caused by Chris’s faulty, flawed installation and work completed by Honest Hands Home Repair. I have been advised by multiple contractors that the shed needs to be redone in its entirety to make it structurally sound and to be resistant to the elements - which is the bare minimum we can ask for a shed, and that we hired Chris McHale to accomplish. In our emails to Chris we informed we would not pay more than the invoice we had received as of the week of 05/20, informing him that the amount we would pay for the project is per the invoice received of $2,680.52 but we had concerns about this amount as there was repeated items on this invoice so we requested material receipts to verify this cost; for example for a door which had two separate charges - one for $255 and the other for $195 which the $195 was removed on all other invoices received recently. However his invoices range from $2100 to now $2800. We asked for his material receipts and we received some of them. The invoice received on 06/08 (which was after our second payment of $1,000) was $2,193.98 which was consistent with the receipts we received for materials. At this point, we are uncomfortable in talking and to continue to work with Chris McHale at Honest Hands Home Repair due to the fact that he is ill equipped to do the work he promised to do and promised that he was able to do correctly - our shed still has light leaks, the siding is incorrectly installed, the roof decking had to be fixed multiple times (including by my HOA), and the shed is not structurally sound and still shakes. He even said in an email 06/20 that there is nothing further he can do to tighten up the shed from shaking. We are requesting a refund of payments submitted to date of $2,000 so that my family can afford to hire an alternative contractor to redo the work Chris McHale at Honest Hands has unsuccessfully and incorrectly completed. While we understand that Chris McHale has spent several days attempting to complete this project and fix his mistakes, we do not feel that it is fair for us to have to fully pay an additional $2,700 to have the shed fixed for work he did wrong. We have photos and videos dating back to the work being initially attempted at the beginning of May of 2025 when this all started to unfold and to today June 30th, 2025 that we are more than willing to share upon request. Chris has also not been punctual throughout the entire time that we have worked together, and he even has showed up unannounced which made me feel uncomfortable and confused - what if we hadn't been home? Because of this experience, I will not recommend Angi's to anyone that I know and have already started warning my friends, family, and neighbors about this experience with one of "Angi's verified contractors"."

Residential contracting: landscape design and installation, to remodels and additions. Big jobs or small jobs we can and are willing to do it all. At Four Star Construction LLC owners Lonnie and Brent, has been doing this type of work for over 65 combined years! We are on time and on budget! Call us today and watch those projects just fly away! INTEGRITY, RELIABILITY,VALUE, EXPRIENCE.

"25 April 2025: Mr. Brent Stephenson and his crew, Chase inspected the items we requested to be repaired. Brent estimated the repair cost at $750 and would need 1 to 2 days to complete. He specifically requested Cash payment. I agreed to his terms but I requested an itemized bill to show the work performed and cost. He agreed. 26 April 2025: Chase came the next day to start the work. Noticed right away that Chase seem to be forgetful since he had to go back and forth to retrieve the tools he needed. Although, he seemed to know what he was doing. However, he had to stop work about three times to go to the Home Depot store to purchase materials for the repair, resulting in delay. He started at 0830 and left the work site at 1945. Work was not completed, however. Chase told us he had to go back in the morning to complete the work. He didn't return the next day. Substandard work and unprofessional behavior. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!"

The average cost to hire a handyman ranges from about $40 to $140 per hour. Average project cost ranges between $180 and $700, but the cost per hour and per project depends heavily on the type, size, and complexity of the project. The pro’s experience level and your location also factor into how much a handyman charges per hour or per project. You can also expect to pay higher rates or additional fees for emergency services, or around periods of high customer demand, like holidays.

Handymen/contractors will charge anywhere from $50 to $175 per hour. The hourly rate is based upon their experience level, overhead costs, and the cost of living in that specific area. Many handymen/contractors will charge by the job.

Tipping a handyman is not a requirement or necessarily expected, as they should build a fair wage into the price of the job. However, some people will tip a handyman around $10 to $20 per hour or the equivalent of a day’s pay, depending on the size of the job. But it’s up to your discretion. There are no set rules for tipping a handyman service, but if they did a great job and you’re so inclined to tip, it’s encouraged and will likely be received with thanks.

A tip is not necessary. If you feel that a handyman did a great job for you, the best thing you can do for them is boost their reputation by leaving reviews on as many sites as possible and spreading by word of mouth how good they are. A tip is temporary but a reputation creates a business!

There are several questions or things to know before hiring a handyman to do any work in your home.

  • What kind of work do they do?

  • Do they have proper licensing?

  • Do they charge for estimates?

  • Is the estimate for both labor and materials?

  • Do they provide references?

  • Do you provide a guarantee?

  • When can you start and finish the job?

  • Do you have any before and after photos of your work?

  • How long have you been doing this kind of work?

  • Do you clean up and dispose of waste when the job is finished?

Is your company bonded and insured?

What is your warranty on service and materials?

Do you provide phone and/or on-site estimates?

Do you accept credit cards as form of payment?

Does your company offer financing for bigger projects?

Do you offer discounts for senior citizens/military (if applicable)?

Where can I see client reviews and samples of work?

Do you have any certifications or awards?

Yes, you should hire a handyman who’s licensed, certified, and insured, if possible. States have different requirements for handyman licensing, registration, and certifications. If licensing is required in your area, you may pay more for a licensed handyman with experience than one who is not licensed or certified, but you’re likely to get a better end result for your project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local handymen guidelines.

Being certified and/or licensed typically provides the customer with a level of comfort when hiring a handyman, but is not always a guarantee of quality work. Ask the handyman to explain what his or her process to complete your project is, and if you hire this person, check on the work, ask questions, make suggestions. After all, it's your project, your money, and you deserve quality work.
