"Juan Rejino completed a new room from existing storage in our basement. He did a wonderful job and he was very professional. He kept us informed of the progress of the project. He worked around our schedule and our animals. We are very pleased with his work and will use him again in the future for any other projects."

"

Joe was on time to give his estimate and arrived as scheduled today to do the work.  He worked diligently.  Covered the stairs leading to the basement with drop cloths so that he wouldn't track in the wet from outside.  He was personable and competent.  I plan to hire him again in the Spring for some outdoor work on a wheel chair ramp.

"First time working with this company. Very pleased, top notch and highly recommend. They replaced our metal roof and gutters on our pole barn. Showed up before expected, completed the job in a very timely manner and did a beautiful job. Excellent to with with. Only received great reviews from all neighbors about the entire team. "We discussed designs for our family room. She was easy to work with and everything was done through email. We sent Jill details about the room and photos. She understood things well, sent us back ideas and a few room plans. We didn’t use her ideas but they were valuable for us for other perspectives. The deal was exactly what we expected."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

The cost to draw house plans typically ranges from $800 to $2,700, with standard blueprints averaging around $1,800. For a custom home, the cost is higher, with blueprints often falling between $5,000 and $20,000, and potentially more for very complex designs. Several factors influence the total price, including the project's size, the number of rooms, the type of drawings required, and the architect's experience level. You may also need to pay a structural engineer to ensure building safety, particularly for custom homes.

The most common scale for residential blueprints is 1/4 of an inch equals one foot. This scale is the most popular because it’s easier for everyone involved, from professionals to homeowners, to understand the building’s actual dimensions. Also, it allows blueprints to have the necessary details without cluttering the page.

Federal architecture is most common in urban areas throughout the New England states, including the older parts of New York, Pennsylvania (namely, Boston and Philadelphia), Maryland, Massachusetts, and Virginia. The style also dominated in parts of Georgia in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, so many historical homes in the area embody this home design. Salem, MA, has two historic districts that predominantly feature this architectural style: Chestnut Street District and the Salem Maritime National Historic Site.

While possible for small projects, professional designers ensure compliance with building codes and structural integrity.

Villa exterior features often include large windows, arched doorways, patios, terraces, greenery, and gardens. Common exterior colors for villas are whites and off-whites, soft browns, and clay tones.
