What if hiring a contractor didn't have to be so stressful? You want a project completed, you want someone who is skillful, trustworthy & reliable. Why is that so hard to find? Every company claims to be reliable, they are all "professional" and promise "quality work". So you hire them and the person you signed the contract with isn't the one that shows up to do the work, the price you quoted isn't what you end up paying and when something isn't done right you can't seem to get ahold of anyone. Sound familiar? \nAt DMI the person who meets with you at that first visit is the same person who will perform the work. You will see him everyday & have access to an actual person every step of the job. What you are quoted is what you will pay unless you ask for additional work. There are no guarantees in life, but what is guaranteed is "great work ain't cheap and cheap work ain't great" Give DMI a call today and let us do what we do best, let our work speak for itself!

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Costs depend on desk size, labor, included features like drawers or motorized height adjustments, and required wall anchoring.

While concrete walls do not need to "breathe" in the traditional sense of the word, they do require waterproofing and dehumidifying methods, particularly in basements below the water table. Concrete both contains moisture from its initial installation and can absorb water when exposed. Ensuring proper basement ventilation , installing a vapor barrier, and controlling water exposure are all important tasks.

The longest part of building a custom home is the design phase. It takes multiple professionals and a ton of work to bring your vision for your dream home to life while sticking to a homebuilding budget and also ensuring everything is built to code. Expect the design phase for a custom home build to take six months to a year.

Universal design is a design concept that states that products, spaces, and general environments are designed to be used by everyone, with an emphasis on accessibility for those with limited mobility or other special needs.

While it’s never too early to start planning for a major home improvement project like a home addition, give yourself at least a month or two to plan and design your addition, find a contractor, and get the permits in order. For larger projects like a second-story addition that require designing with an architect, plan on three to four months of preparation.
