There are sections of my driveway where nearly all of the seal coating came off in less than 9 months, so I am going to have to re-do the job myself. This is not what I had in mind when I paid over $1,100 (a fair price, if it would have lasted longer). I understand that the work isn't covered anymore, as I didn't report it until the thaw revealed so much was missing, and I'm not upset with Merit or their staff. Some mudjacking projects can last for well beyond a decade, depending on the underlying issue.

Costs range from $500 to $1,500, depending on the size and condition of the area.

Mudjacking is suitable for sidewalks, driveways, patios, and nearly all exterior flat structures. However, it may not suit severely damaged or heavily cracked areas.

It’s possible to rent the equipment necessary to do your own mudjacking, but we don’t recommend it. Mudjacking involves pumping a precise amount of cementitious slurry under your slab to lift it back into place and keep it there. It’s easy to pump too much or not enough, in which case you may need to call in a professional to help anyway. We strongly recommend against mudjacking any load-bearing slab, as you could easily cause irreversible structural damage to your property if you make a mistake. This is one job where paying for a professional is worthwhile.
