Merit Asphalt

The staff seem to be really good and professional people. The reason for my 2-star rating is that the work done simply didn't deliver on expectations of durability. There are sections of my driveway where nearly all of the seal coating came off in less than 9 months, so I am going to have to re-do the job myself. This is not what I had in mind when I paid over $1,100 (a fair price, if it would have lasted longer). I understand that the work isn't covered anymore, as I didn't report it until the thaw revealed so much was missing, and I'm not upset with Merit or their staff. Last year Merit Asphalt patched a 10 X 10 foot area that was in bad condition. There were areas that were raised above the rest of the driveway, and also areas that were completely worn away down to the dirt. The repair job was done perfectly. After a year it still looks perfect. I am very happy with the quality and price of the job.

Everything went very well. Had to reschedule a few times due to weather. The team that came out to grade was very polite and friendly. The team that came out to pave was very efficient, only taking 1 hour of disruption on our quiet little dead-end street. No mess remained. Outstanding. The price was a bit higher than other quotes, but we got what we paid for...a better quality job.

Did not see removal work or new base being done but the result looked very good. Weather prevented the asphalt being completed as planned. On the rescheduled date a crew of about 10 people showed up. Very professional and respectful of our property. The new driveway is excellent.

They were competitive and responsive when I requested a quote. They booked my job very quickly. They were on time and did a very clean and thorough seal job. Very pleased.

Representative worked with me to piggy back another job close by and keep my costs down. Finished driveway looks fabulous. Very happy.

Great looking job and pleasant workers.  The coating was applied carefully with full coverage after a complete cleaning.  This is the best coating job I have had after trying several other suppliers.

About as expected. Could have been slightly better cleanup in the grass around the driveway.

Merit performed an excellent service. I called a bit late in the season however, they "squeezed" us in due to the approaching cold weather. Great job!

It did not go well. They now will not reseal my driveway in the future and provide a warranty. They now will only offer a decorative sealing job. Who offers a decorative asphalt sealing job? I believe they are upset about covering my driveway under warranty one time so now they will offer no warranty for the future. So the point here is once you claim a warranty, all future work is not covered. They did my neighbors across the street with a warranty.... so go figure. Apparently they have double standards pending if you filed a previous warranty claim.

They were OK and did come back out when we asked them too. We had some problems, I wish that they had said, "Here's your problem." Rather than giving us a straight estimate. After negotiating they were competitive. I was a little disappointed this year with them. It took them a while to come out and fix an area, and several phone calls. We will get a quote and consider it again.

Everything went above and beyond our expectations! Todd was so helpful and thorough with every aspect. From the time he came over to talk to us about what exactly we wanted and give us a quote to the finished job we were nothing but impressed. We were able to discuss exactly what we wanted done with the concrete area, and he brought up good points and ideas to us. There was a lot of discussion about what needed to be done with the drainage ditch pipe, and Merit was very prompt with email responses and phone calls. 
During the concrete removal there was a large hole found in our garage foundation. We also had removed old unfunctional oil pipes going into our house from that area. They told us that we would just have to hand dig out those areas after they finished filling in the gravel and put in some quick set cement. We then left for some errands, and we got a call about an hour later saying that they went ahead and filled the holes in for us so that we didn't have to dig it up later! Thanks! 
Over all and from every aspect we would recommend Merit for any project you have!
