"This was my first time using Angi. I was nervous about online services; but I needed help. It was so easy! I needed an ADA toilet installed. I answered a few questions and voila! I got three quotes immediately. Hooper called confirmed my needs and had a plumber out in less than an hour! Nathan arrived with a smile; was informative, reassuring, and quickly completed the removal and replacement! ? He made certain the new install worked properly, helped me affix the riser, and hauled off the old toilet! I would wholeheartedly recommend Hooper Cooperation for fast, friendly, and quality service!!!????"

"The technician emptied the freezer, which was in the basement, to work on the part that needed repair. Then he neglected to put anything back into the freezer, including a turkey I had bought for Christmas and a rack of ribs. Two days after he left, I went out of town for two weeks. The turkey actually exploded and spewed its liquid all over everything, which had to be discarded. I let AHS know and they couldn't even bother to call me or follow up on this. I'm considering not renewing my contract with them because of the quality (or lack thereof) of many of the providers they send."

Septic Tanks questions, answered by experts

A septic alarm can sound different depending on your system, but often, it’s a loud, repetitive beeping noise or a steady, high-pitched noise. It may also be a loud buzzing noise. To confirm the noise is your septic alarm, check your alarm box for a red light. You can also silence your alarm with a red button or switch on the box. Look for something that says “Test” or “Mute.”

Having a well means that a household’s water supply, including water that comes through faucets, showerheads, and appliances, is supplied through a private source rather than from a city. The well pulls fresh water from an underground water supply, such as an aquifer, and the well pump pushes the water from the well to your household.

The bacteria already present in your septic system should be enough to break down solids in a properly maintained septic tank. However, if you’re in a DIY mood, you can try adding (well-mashed) rotten tomatoes to help the good bacteria fulfill their duty. Just make sure you give them a couple hours to work after flushing them down.

Septic distribution boxes, also called D-boxes, tend to last over 30 years if taken care of extremely well. In most cases, however, they tend to last anywhere from 15 years to 40 years. Regular cleaning and maintenance, as well as living in an area that doesn’t flood the tank or the system regularly, will all have an impact on the lifespan of the box.

Septic tanks come in multiple shapes, sizes, and materials. However, they’re often round or rectangular in shape and made from concrete, fiberglass, or plastic. There’s a range of septic tank sizes, with the average model measuring 30 to 40 square feet and holding 1,000 to 1,500 gallons of waste.
