"I had never used this site before but desperate for help with my yard I tried it and liked Tom's reviews, so I emailed him. He responded immediately and was so enthusiastic and personable, I decided to give him a try. I am so happy I did. He was on time, listened to what I wanted and made suggestions as well. He did an amazing job and I will not hesitate to have him back for more yard work in the future. I am a business owner and I know how hard it is to get good help. Tom is better than good. He did an awesome job my yard never looked better. I will definitely recommend him."

"Alonso Landscaping was the only company to respond promptly to my inquiry. Their quote was reasonable and I chose them to replace a deteriorating retaining wall. They showed up when promised and the job took two days. I was very impressed with the employee they sent over, Armando. He was considerate, a very hard worker and explained everything about what he was doing. He was thorough and the wall looks amazing. I would not hesitate to recommend them to you. If the owner reads this, Armando worked his butt off to make it look good. I will definitely use this company again!"

Lawns questions, answered by experts

Alternatives to a dumpster include junk removal services and dumpster bags. These are good options if you have limited space and can’t fit a dumpster on your property or if a dumpster isn’t available. You can also take smaller loads of waste to a disposal facility yourself if you have a vehicle that can fit your items.

Dead trees are dangerous for several reasons. They are structurally compromised and prone to branch or trunk failure, which can pose a significant safety risk to people, vehicles, and nearby structures. Dead trees can also harbor pests like termites, which may spread to other trees or your home. If a tree died from a disease, it could spread the illness to healthy trees. Additionally, the dry wood is highly flammable, increasing fire risk.

Seal bags firmly for materials like soil or mulch, store unused parts in dry and cool spaces to prevent decay and use material visually formed covers for extended periods.

To prepare your lawn for core aeration, water it the day before you aerate. (Alternatively, you can wait until it rains and aerate the following day.) Aerating after watering or a rainy day will make the process easier since you can penetrate moist soil better than dry soil. You should also flag your sprinklers so that you don’t accidentally hit them while aerating. If you have a lot of thatch buildup in your yard, you might need to dethatch your lawn before aerating as well.

You may need to lay sod on the areas you dug up once you get the okay from the contractor. It will take about 30 to 45 days for the sod to take root. Consult a local sod installer to get an accurate estimate of the timeline of your specific yard-enhancement project.
