"Pressure washing went fine (missed a section). Painting ok but did not prep like promised. Re-caulking was not done. Screw holes left by previous gutters etc. were not filled but just painted over. Contract said 2 coats of paint but only got one (no back roll but was not in contract). No crew but only 1 man (he was fast - painted house and trim in 2 days). House was decent but trim was a bit sloppy (not clean lines, trim paint drops on deck steps etc.). All in all, B- to B."

"Outstanding company....we just finished building our home and when Zakary’s crew showed up to paint our interior we were fresh off a very bad experience with our sheetrockers. Eduardo and crew were a breath of fresh air. They were clean, meticulous, efficient and really nice people. Liked them so much we had them back the next summer to paint our exterior."

"Highly recommended! Javier’s team did an excellent job on my house, which was difficult to paint due to tall heights and the prep work needed. His crew was experienced, professional, and considerate of my property and of my neighbors. They did good, careful work, and everything was on schedule and on budget. I am very pleased and would hire them again."

"Outstanding service & workmanship from start to finish - my home looks beautiful!!
I chose O'Shea's LLC as a local operation with consistent A ratings on Angie's List (with 31 great reviews in last 2 yrs) - plus a 10% discount coupon. I submitted a scheduling request thru Angie's List & literally within 2 minutes received a phone call back from CEO Jeff Bauer. Wow, impressive!! (Knows how to leverage technology too).
Jeff was thorough & helpful during appt. I knew the job would not come cheap, but he worked with me to bring down original estimate by at least 25% (by opting to not paint concrete retaining walls separate from house, ceiling in carport, or hidden beams on underside of balcony etc & by minimizing use of accent colors). Also very helpful with colors & types of paint & stain used.
I was flexible about when to start, but Jeff paid attention to weather & had his staff out here at 1st sign of perfect stretch of weather. His painting staff were superb! Courteous, quiet, & expert at their work, not a drop of spilled paint, everything done with mathematical precision. Not used to seeing people take such pride & care with their work - these guys were masters at their craft. They also worked incredibly hard - pressure washed on Monday, 2 days to dry (when cloudy), then painted Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun, finishing up with doors & trim on Mon.
Even the one small error that occurred was handled with courtesy & professionalism (small length of fence mistakenly partially stained). No problem - Jerry said he'd fix it or replace the fence - but pressure washing took care of it just fine (to be followed up with transparent stain later)
Wow, I love my home!!  Way beyond what I expected or even envisioned - colors are perfect, workmanship is flawless, plus great customer service from start to finish. We should all support excellent local businesses like this.
Many thanks to Jeff & O'Shea's LLC, his great staff & Angie's List (I never would have found them without Angie)!

"Justin, Alex and Sergi were excellent in providing our home with exterior replacement of damaged siding and then painting. Crew was very courteous and the whole project was finished in 4 days. We would definitely recommend them to home owners needing painting services."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

A properly applied coat of stain will last between 3 and 8 years, depending on your climate. If you live in a place where your fence experiences a lot of moisture or high heat, your stain will last for a shorter period than in more temperate conditions. We recommend reapplying stain every 3 to 5 years to keep your wood in good condition.

You may be wondering: can you paint cement? Fortunately, the answer is yes.

To change the color of your cinder blocks, you have two options. You can either paint them or stain them. Either way, you'll be able to choose from a wide range of color options. Some popular colors for cinder block painting include off-white shades and gray tones, which add a modern spin to the traditional gray blocks.

Apply a wood stain or sealant to properly maintain a wood deck railing and keep it looking new. Sealants protect wood from moisture and weathering. Regularly inspect the railing for loose screws, damaged balusters, and other signs of wear to make timely repairs. Routinely clean the railing using mild soap, water, and a soft bristle brush.

Wet-sanding and dry-sanding each have pros and cons. Dry-sanding is less messy, so it’s a good option if you’re trying to minimize dust (for example, if you’re sanding an occupied home or working with particularly dry or dusty drywall mud). However, dry-sanding is quicker because you don’t have to keep rinsing a sponge or wait for it to dry before painting.

A five-gallon bucket of deck stain will cover roughly 875 square feet in a single coat. Actual coverage will vary based on the type of wood you’re staining and the number of coats. If you plan on doing multiple coats, multiply the square footage by the number of coats to calculate how many buckets of stain you’ll need.
