"I contacted 2 highly-reviewed and rated companies, American Tree Care being one of them. Ammon, the owner is knowledgeable, personable, and truly cares that you walk away having had a good experience. Price wise, they were a tad bit lower than the other well-rated company (Both were fair and reasonable in my opinion). He was able to work with me on schedule and made sure that the surrounding trees were protected while his crew was working. Hard working crew who were knowledgeable, and didn't waste any time getting to work. Excellent experience and highly recommend. I will definitely be calling Ammon at American Tree Care first"

Small jobs welcome

"I needed two stumps removed and this company came to my rescue. They grinned both stumps in less than 30 minutes (even got rid of the roots for me), cleaned the job site, and left. Neil was super professional and responsive and beat any other quote I had for the job. Highly recommend them for your tree service needs."

"Their crew came out on a Saturday and removed a dying tree from our back yard and trimmed another tree in our front yard. They showed on time and got the everything done in a couple of hours. They were very careful to not damage any plants around the tree being removed. Their did a great communicating with us about how they were going to do things and answered every question we had. We are very happy that we hired them. Highly recommend."

"Mike and his team at Highlander Tree Service recently removed a maple tree from a steep incline location. From the beginning of communication with Mike, he was friendly, knowledgeable and very efficient with immediate cost information. He not only quoted the price, but offered to do other helpful tasks with a willingness that is so refreshing. Mike and Nick worked this process with skill and such carefulness in the surrounding area and also the clean-up process was impeccable. I highly recommend their service and work ethics. Thank you, Highlander Logging and Tree Service!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

A general rule is that trees need 10 gallons of water for each inch of the tree’s diameter. For large trees, that can amount to approximately 160 gallons of water or more. Watering big trees to this extent can take quite a bit of time using a hose. For this reason, you may consider installing a soaker hose or sprinkler system to make the job easier.

In nature, there are many things that can cause a tree to die, including diseases, insects, and natural disasters such as fires or droughts. Non-natural methods of killing a tree include herbicides or manual intervention, such as cutting it down. Consult a tree removal professional about your options for naturally killing a tree.

Depending on the severity of the damage, a tree might continue healing for years after a split or a break. Saplings can usually bounce back in the spring in one or two seasons, but larger trees might take a few years to regain their former strength. If your tree is showing strong growth and is not dropping limbs, you can consider it healed after the first two seasons.

Trees are beneficial to the environment and wildlife. If you have an old tree, but it’s healthy, it may be best to avoid cutting it down. However, if it’s showing signs of bug infestation, disease, or is potentially hazardous, then you should contact a tree removal company to cut it down.

If you are unsure whether you should have it removed or not, then speak with an arborist to determine what is best.

The ideal time to prune a tree depends on the type of tree. Typically, late winter or early spring is a good time to prune but isn't always the case for "towering trees." It's best to trim when trees are dormant and before blooms appear but can vary depending on the tree type. It's always best to research the type of tree or ask a professional tree trimmer to determine when is the perfect time to prune your tree.
