"Aces Four installed a sewer cleanout and hydrojetted my sewer line to clean what was diagnosed as "soft blockage". They did this for half the cost of another bid, and also ran a sewer scope. I was very pleased with this work. However, the sewer scope revealed another issue further down the line causing slow draining. Because of water in the line they were not able to make a definitive diagnosis, and the blockage was too far to reach with a snake. Still, they recommended digging out the line at about $8,000. Later I found another plumber willing to attach two snakes together to clear that blockage. After that was cleared, sewer scope revealed cracks/holes that can be sealed without digging out the line for under $4,000. On one hand I really appreciate the job they did for me, and I can understand that they could not make a proper diagnosis with the water in the line. But they did not offer alternative solutions, so I had to call someone else to figure out the issue. Still, I would call them in the future, and in fact just recently did that."

"My house was damaged by a water leak in the master bathroom. The bathroom floor was soaked from under the shower and the leak got to the downstairs family room. After getting my phone call, Andrea responded very quickly and patiently answered all my questions and concerns. The shower, the floor, and the ceiling must be opened, dried, and the mold treated for mitigation. Andrea and his team did a great job in that. For the restoration, Andrea and his team had to replace two sinks with new countertops, redo one toilet, redo the shower with new dry wall, cement board, tiles, and the bathroom floor. For the family room, they had to repaint the ceiling and the result is great. I have no complaints. Everyone in his team is professional and I will not hesitate to hire them for another project."

"Great Service!!! I had a clog in my main sewer line. Called around 7am and was able to schedule an estimate same day. Got a call back from Andrew and was able to have them come in sooner, which was awesome! Plumbers David & Chris was courteous, friendly and professional. They were able to fix my issue swiftly and jet the roots out as well. I love the fact that they made sure that everything was working correctly before leaving, to ensure the issue has been resolved. They even ran a camera down my sewer line to insure me all the roots were gone, got a video as well. I had the same issue previously and called another company. I had to call them twice because they did not resolve the issue on both times out here. Hagee Plumbing fixed it.

"They were responsive and courteous. He did a nice neat professional looking job. It looks better then the one they replaced and fixed an issue where it was installed. I think they did a great job and would certainly use them again. It took about 4 hours because of the position it was in."

"White glove treatment is the best way to describe how Kitchen's Plus handled my kitchen project. From my first meeting with the designer to my final punch list review everything went very well. No high pressure sales, quality products/materials, and fantastic attention to detail and commitment to customer service. My PM, Tim Burr, made sure I was taken care of every step of the way. Even coming out on a Saturday morning to deal with a small drip from the kitchen sink. Regarding commitment to excellence, the tile installer noticed small imperfections on the back splash tile. He would not install an inferior product and ordered all new tile. I plan on using Kitchen's Plus again when I get around to remodeling my bathroom."

"Disappointed. Sound Tile and Grout was on the pricer side and I definitely did not feel that I received what I paid for. Part of the initial install was done poorly (more joints than necessary, see picture) and required the provider to return to reinstall portions of the tile which I was charged extra for. The provider did not clean up at the end of each day nor was the area thoroughly cleaned after the job was completed. The provider left pieces of tile on our front sidewalk and a track of dirt and debris down our stairwell. Grout haze was also not fully removed. At the end of the day the completed install did turn out well, but I would not recommend this company due to the above concerns."

"Colton came out several times to scope out the project details and provide a bid, both with and without cabinets included. After I gathered seven, we decided to hire Carlstrom Construction/Kitchen Visions for the whole job with the exception of the countertop fabrication and install (done through a Costco deal with another company). I had a tight timeline to meet so we worked quickly to establish decisions on cabinetry and a start date.

After the cabinets were built in Sean's shop, Sean and Jerry came out to do the remodel in our kitchen. The work went quickly and efficiently on the days when they had everything they needed. They were flexible and accommodating as I had questions and concerns. Thoughtfulness and attention to detail in their workmanship are noticeable in the finished work. I also especially appreciated it when Jerry needed to pop upstairs to check on some connected plumbing and took the care to remove his shoes since we're a no-shoes household. That, along with Sean's ideas and feedback as we spoke during the course of the project displayed their care and experience in delivering great results.

Some delays on materials (cabinet fronts, flooring) came up but they still completed the work within a day of when we needed the kitchen to be completed. There were also a few surprises (lighting didn't quite illuminate the new peninsula so I hired an electrician to put in pendants this week, some cabinets had less usable space than we expected) All things considered, this project went relatively smoothly. We ran several thousand over budget, but it was completed well. Even with some hiccups from the counter top installation delay and flooring delays, they were able to work swiftly to get everything done. At one point, we realized our large stand mixer wouldn't fit on the new counters because of the valance to accommodate under-cabinet lights or on any of the new slide-out pantry shelves. Sean was very flexible about lowering the drawer guides a few inches even though it was already in so we appreciated it.

It's only been a week now, but we're definitely enjoying our new kitchen. Some adhesive smells are still lingering so they're continuing to be aired out and I'm still finding sawdust film on cabinet surfaces (and everywhere in the garage), but we're otherwise quite happy with the completion of our kitchen. As I've been gradually reorganizing the space in the kitchen, I actually found that a few more shelves would be helpful. When I mentioned this to Sean on a short visit to tie up loose logistical ends, he even offered to make the two shelves for me. Overall, they are focused on making sure we got what we needed for the kitchen and making sure we're satisfied.

Overall, Carlstrom Construction does great work are a pleasure to work with for any of your remodeling needs. We will definitely keep them in mind for any major remodel projects we would like to tackle in the future.

"During periodic heavy rains we sprung a leak in our basement wall. I called Perma-Dry because both Angie's List and a plumber recommended the company, and I do not know the first thing about waterproofing a home. I scheduled a date and time for a salesperson to inspect the basement and provide me with an estimate. Mark was friendly and professional, and in his estimate he wrote that a sump pump may be required. What he did not elaborate in his inspection is the sump pump requiring GFCI, a term he wrote on the estimate but did not explain during the inspection. I am not an electrician and I have already established I do not know the first thing about waterproofing. What I came to learn during the scheduled work is that a) the crew confirmed a sump pump would be required, and that b) GFCI means a dedicated electrical line for the sump pump. We have a warbox-style home from 1942 and there is only so much we can do to the existing structure. Our washer and dryer are in the basement and now our washer will share an outlet with the sump pump, and I'm going to hope for the best. The work crew is nice but they do love to get animated about the work they are performing. I'm fortunate to work from home today and participate in phone conferences on mute so my colleagues didn't have to hear "BULLSH_T" being exclaimed loudly. Bonus use of the n-word when they returned from lunch. What would have been immensely helpful in the original inspection is Mark explaining, "We should check to see if you have the necessary electrical setup for the sump pump, otherwise you will need to hire an electrician and that could run $600." When I had Mark in our basement I was trying to think of every possible question to ask him before agreeing to an estimate and scheduling a service appointment. Where I failed in my exercise is that I didn't know the questions to ask during the inspection, and now the crew is installing a sump pump that I cannot reject because it's the only way I can achieve the goal of waterproofing the basement. A quick email to the company did not feign a reply from anyone other than a follow-up call with Mark who, professionally, explained he did his part to address his due diligence in the estimate to cover liability for the company. I explained to Mark that since I do not know the first thing about waterproofing (established) I did not know all the right questions to ask, and I am now having to authorize $825 for a sump pump in hopes that I don't need to hire additional servicemen to confirm the work is complete. The conversation was moot aside from him understanding my frustration. If you are a homeowner like me that is unfamiliar with waterproofing and home electrical, be sure to ask the salesperson if your home is properly set up to accept a required sump pump, or if you will need to schedule an electrician to wire your home ahead of the waterproofing work. If you are a homeowner like me that is unfamiliar with waterproofing, make sure you ask your salesperson for visual examples of the sump pump so you can adjust any configuration of storage solutions you had in your basement that must now be reconfigured due to the size of the pump and the space it will occupy. Because you don't know if there is more than one option for the sump pump (there isn't on the day of work). You can, however, hope the crew will not cut into existing pipes and do their best to work with the plumbing. FYI: the warranty offered for the drain system DOES NOT apply connection to an existing non-company installed drain line. Meaning that the sump pump required for completion of work is not covered by the drain system warranty when the crew connect it to your existing plumbing. The crew finished ahead of schedule and I was shown the results. The poured concrete will take 3-4 days to thoroughly dry; we can move our washer back at that time and reinstall all the hoses. I wish I would have known in advance how long it would take for the concrete to be dry but I guess that, too, was a question I was supposed to know to ask. The sump pump is already plugged into the wall socket but we'll need to rely on the battery powering the sump pump control box because we don't have another outlet to spare for the second plug. If we didn't have that outlet at the ready, I would be back on Angie's List looking for an electrician and I wish Mark would have had a checklist at the ready to make sure all of this was addressed before the crew tore open the basement floor with a jackhammer and then concluded a sump pump was necessary. The purpose of Angie's List is to reduce the risk of "Buyer Beware" for consumers, yet here is a business model that penalizes consumers because they don't know the questions to ask. I hope my experience will save you from a similar situation so you're not left frustrated with a company's reply being "I understand" on repeat."

"We needed a French drain installed in our back yard to divert ground water around our septic drain field. Dillon spent the time to understand exactly what our needs were, and to explain what he would be doing. He was responsive and easy to communicate with. He gave us a detailed quote, at a significantly lower price than the other bid. He arrived on time and worked late, and got the job done earlier than promised. He spent the time to clean up the mess. He cleaned up our driveway (where he had temporarily dumped a pile of gravel) and the side of our house (where he drove his equipment back and forth to move dirt and gravel) far better than I expected. I would definitely hire him again."

Sink Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes. You can replace just the stopper portion with a universal sink stopper. All you need to do is open up the existing stopper and pull it up from the drain. You should be able to remove and replace the stopper with bare hands. If the existing stopper seems to be stuck, use a pair of pliers to remove it.

Today’s standard sink stopper size is 1.5 inches. However, you can still find different sizes if your house uses an older sink stopper. Other sizes you can find in most hardware stores include one inch, 1-1/4 inch, 1-3/8 inch, 1-5/8 inch, 1-7/8 inch, 2 inch, 2-1/4 inch, 2-3/8 inch, and 2.5 inch.

Plumbing installation costs in renovations typically range from $300 to $1,500 or more, depending on the complexity and specifics of the project.

No, all faucets are not compatible with all sinks. Because your countertops and your sink likely have a set number of holes already built in, you’ll need to find a faucet with the same amount of holes to work with your existing sink.

While unplugging your garbage disposal and plugging it back in may help, most units have an actual reset button, a bright red switch found on the underside of your unit. If your garbage disposal needs resetting, you may notice this button sticking out about a quarter of an inch from the surface of the unit, with which it’s usually flush. Simply depress this reset button to reset the unit, and then test to ensure it’s working about 10 minutes later.
