Although we are general contractors and can do everything, we specialize in kitchen and bathroom remodeling. I reached out to Johnson & Sons and several other contractors to discuss the possibility of opening up and completely remodeling my kitchen and bathrooms, with the addition of a shower to the former half bath off the master suite. After receiving bids and meeting with each contractor, I went with Johnson & Sons due to the transparency and consideration Vic Johnson showed when discussing the project and its challenges, as well as providing a detailed quote. Because this remodel involved the removal of walls, tiling of the kitchen/bathrooms, potential size constraints, and a re-plumbing of the house, It was very important for me that things be done correctly, to code and with permits. Once demo and construction started, things proceeded at a brisk pace with minimal lag between subcontractors, and inspections. Their tile guy, Tony was great to work with and very helpful with making the appropriate detail selections around the showers. We did have a long wait for a cosmetic piece of cabinet siding, which ended up being the final part needed to complete the project. Vic was direct with me about the issue and the delay. Such a minor issue is in my opinion, very small potatoes compared to having quality work done. Ultimately, Johnson & Sons came in slightly under their contract price - a very pleasant and welcome surprise.

Johnson and Sons Construction came through for us in an urgent situation; the vertical trim of the garage door opening accidentally got knocked in while the car was going in, which misaligned the garage door track and also cracked adjacent siding. Vic was very responsive and came out the next day to realign the trim and assured us that the damage was not structural (as a result we were able to quickly arrange for a garage door specialist to readjust and tune up the garage door system). He delivered on his commitment to provide an estimate to replace the damaged siding and have his team come out to do the work, scheduling us for within a couple of weeks. John and Tony did great work replacing the siding, which looks seamless and was made to ready-to-paint condition. Communication was clear and responsive throughout, and we received timely and good quality service that matched the scope of the estimate. I would not hesitate to contact them again in the future and thank them for the peace of mind in a pinch.

These guys redid the flooring and baseboards in our roughly 450 sq ft bonus room. We had very thorough consult before the job to help choose the perfect vinyl tile. The floor is very well done, and was done quickly. It's stunning and I absolutely love it.

We hired Vic and his team to replace a gas range with electric. This task was complicated by the need to upgrade our electrical panel and run new cables to support the new range. We also needed to cap off the old gas line and repair and paint drywall. They made sure that everything was up to code (including correcting an existing problem they found with grounding) pulled the required permit and arranged for inspection of the completed work. We were impressed by their professionalism throughout. As well as doing quality work they also were very careful to protect our home and clean up once complete. We were very pleased with the finished job and would definitely hire them again.

Vic Johnson helped us through a very difficult kitchen restoration project after a water leak. He was especially helpful in our negotiations with our insurance company, writing up separate estimates for restoring the kitchen as it was and for doing some upgrades we opted for. Vic has an excellent set of subcontractors, and they were able to bring the project in under budget. We would definitely hire them again.

In 2022, we decided to add a new kitchen and substantially remodel our mid-1960s Edmonds rambler. After reading many on-line reviews and meeting with several contractors we decided to go with Johnson and Sons.....and we are so very happy that we did. From the very start we were impressed with how open, honest and responsive Vic Johnson was, a trend that continued throughout our project. As you might imagine, a significant remodel and addition to a 60-year old home is likely to bring with it surprises and our remodel was no exception. Despite the many challenges encountered, Johnson and Son and their subcontractors readily overcame them. Among the many lessons we learned during our remodel was the value of quality subcontractors. Vic's relationship with his subs in some cases extend more than a decade and the depth of these relationships was reflected by the quality and timeliness of their work. Johnson and Sons Construction gave us an estimate to replace everything but the flooring in the primary bathroom. It was beyond my budget and Vic was very amenable to reducing the scope of work to a point that the re-do was affordable. I was also able to do some work to reduce the costs (painting and installing light fixtures). They gave great recommendations for the finishes and styles and worked with my work schedule to make this project happen. I appreciated their flexibility and they were on schedule and on time when they promised. I'm very happy with the results!!

I interviewed several contractors before choosing Johnson & Sons and chose them after speaking to three of their references. They received outstanding recommendations that went FAR above “5 stars…they are great.” Each of the references had a story about how their experience with Johnson & Sons exceeded expectations, about how Vic was a superior project manager, about how they hired Johnson & Sons for project after project. Johnson and Sons have done remodels for out kitchen (in 2016) and two bathrooms (2021 and 2022). I don't think we would ever use another contractor. First of all, Vic Johnson is an excellent communicator, giving helpful advice and ensuring that all parties understand what will be done, the budget, the timeline, etc. The work that he and his team do is of top quality. The one time we were unhappy with a counter, Vic redid the work at no additional charge to us. The subcontractors that he uses as part of his team are all top-notch. In addition, after the work is done, he is always available to help on a timely basis with whatever questions or follow up we have needed, even if it's not directly related to the work they did.

Johnson & Sons remodeled our 1990's kitchen and replaced all of the flooring on the first floor and staircase of our home during the months of May - August of 2022. We met with multiple local companies to bid the work and Vic's bid came in under or comparable to the other estimates we received. We chose their company based on referral, price, and comfort level with Vic. Vic is fantastic to work with. He is knowledgeable, responsive, and creates a culture of partnership on his team's projects. This was our first time tackling a renovation project of this scope and using a general contractor. Vic and his team made the experience comfortable and as enjoyable as it could be considering we had no kitchen! :) There was a long wait time to get the project started due to Covid-caused supply issues on Johnson and Sons other jobs (we originally met with Vic in June of 2021 and the work did not start until May of 2022). It was hard to be patient, but it actually worked in our favor. Being able to choose and purchase materials in advance meant no supply issues or back orders once our project got started. Every sub that Vic and Jon used on our job or vendor he referred us to was professional, kind, and did a great job. If we ever had a question about quality or how the job was progressing (and we had a lot -- remember we'd never done this before!) Vic was patient, flexible, and worked with us until we were satisfied. As our job progressed, issues within our home were uncovered that were not in the scope of work included in our kitchen remodel. A water leak was found in an adjacent wall when kitchen drywall was removed, and holes in our roof were discovered when the electrician was in the attic running conduit. Even though these setbacks were not part of our kitchen remodel, Vic's guys jumped in and found solutions or recommended sub contractors to solve problems. There were multiple times that we had questions and within minutes either Vic or Jon were on site to address a concern or answer a question-- even after our job was complete. We could not be more excited about our new kitchen or pleased with our choice of contractor. We are already planning to hire Johnson and Sons again to renovate our primary bathroom!

Johnsons and Sons, once again, make the vision a realty. New floors, cabinets, countertops, paint, lighting in our Laundry Room/Mud Room-entryway (and new fireplace!). Top to bottom: perfect. Vic's communication throughout the project never left us guessing who was coming when and what we could expect on a day-to-day basis. He was always very clear on the cost and timing, no surprises. Jon gets the work DONE; I'm not sure there's anything he cannot do. And Tony . . . his tile work is second to none. We've asked Tony to tackle many and varied tile projects; his attention to detail has never left us disappointed and his finished product has always been the highlight. The Johnson and Sons subs (flooring, drywall, paint, electrical) are courteous, professional, and timely. When things are "missed" or overlooked (as ALWAYS happens with ANY project), the subs promptly return to get the work done, never a problem. Two more rooms to go and Johnson and Sons will have touched every room of our house.

Vic and his team are amazing! They took our terrible tiny kitchen and turned it into the showpiece of the house. It is the kitchen of our dreams and we love to show it off. A couple years later and we still absolutely love the work they did and have hired them for every project since! As impressive as the actual work, I really want to compliment their communication, we always felt in the loop and like we were really being listened to. At every step of the way we felt like they were really doing everything they could to make our ideas into reality, not that they were trying to sell us on anything. You will definitely underestimate how stressful and disruptive large remodels can be and you want your contractor to be a trusted partner in the process, and that's Johnson & Sons.

I had a horrible little galley kitchen with a partial wall that separated it from the living and dining room area. It had very little counter space and was in desperate need of an update (circa 1983). I hired Johnson and Sons and they did not disappoint. I now have an amazing open concept kitchen with tons of counterspace. It still amazes me how big the kitchen and living area feels now. Ok so down to some details. They replaced cabinets and countertops, installed an island, tile backsplash, new flooring and scraped and resurfaced the ceiling (I had the old acoustic ceiling) for the kitchen, dining room and living room. Vic, Jon and crew were professional, honest and did beautiful work. Vic provided guidance when picking out materials and kept communication with me throughout the remodel so that I knew what to expect and when to expect it. My house is an older home and it is not without its issues. I really appreciate how hard Jon and crew worked to make the old look new again like the extra texture on the walls to help match to new ceiling and find solutions for a few of the uncovered issues like a joist where the hood vent needed to be, beat up base trim and older electrical wiring. They really went above and beyond, and I couldn’t be happier with my kitchen remodel. I highly recommend Johnson and Sons Construction and would hire them again.

We had water loss in our house. In addition to the restoration work, we decided to do a broader remodel at the same time. We actually hired a different company that promised to make our house all new again, but we had a lot of delays and communication issues, and ultimately walked away from that company. We had already moved into temporary housing for the remodel, and needed another contractor to step in quickly. Johnson and Sons rose to the occasion and were able to get us back into our house quicker than the first company would have. Our remodel was basically the whole house. Floors, interior paint, all 3 bathrooms and the kitchen. The price was competitive. The timeline was good. The communication was outstanding, which was very important to us. Vic was always available to answer questions and proactive in letting us know what was going on. Jon and Tony were patient and willing to make adjustments as requested. We did discover an issue based on a previous contractor's faulty work, but Vic was quick to explain the situation and give us options and prices. We would definitely recommend them to others.

We are so happy to have worked with Johnson and Sons on our project. After nearly 6 months of planning and bouncing around with an unresponsive contractor, we were struggling to get our project (an 8’ x 20’ addition + master bed and bath remodel) off the ground. Once we connected with Johnson and Sons, Vic quickly spent time getting to know us, understanding our vision, and offering feedback and recommendations. We were able to start work as soon as all of the permits cleared. Throughout the process, Vic and his team were transparent, courteous, and communicative. We waited 1 year from project completion before writing this review for the 'honeymoon' period to wear off... but it never did. We went into this project with our eyes wide open, having heard so many stories of other peoples remodel projects ending in less than stellar results. Our experience with Johnson and Sons, from planning and project quoting thru demo and remodel, more than met our expectations. We would not hesitate in using them again and/or recommending them to our friends and family for their projects.

From tip-to-toe everything was organized, efficient, well communicated and professional!!! We are sooo incredibly happy with our bathroom that went from drab 1980s style to exactly what we wanted! There was never a time where we felt left out on an "island" without any communication or information and we knew what would be happening on a daily basis. Not only was the communication top notch, but the work was professional over and over again. There was NO mess afterwards and each and every contractor was absolutely respectful of our property. We can't say enough on how happy we are with the finished product. I would hire them over and over again.
