"I don't even think I need to add words for you to see how happy I am with this project. I mean just look at it!! I had a vague vision of what I wanted and Matthew from Rainier Ridge made it a reality. I have nothing bad to say about the outcome or the overall experience. I cant go outside now without everyone who passes telling me how amazing it looks. About a year ago I contacted a few contractors for just the deck and it was almost the same price for all of this. My father was a construction foreman with the Seattle Union most of his life so of course he had to check out the work after and he said the work was amazing. Matt also knew I didn't know much about construction but made sure I was always in the loop and understood what they were doing and why. If there was a change or recommendation he would ask and detail the extra charges if I wanted to but never pressured me. New projects like this can be so intimidating but it honestly couldn't have gone any better or easier. "

"We hired Brian to cut out oaths in our acreage, as well as to grade and put fresh gravel on our driveway. Brian is competent, gets work done when he says it will be done, and I would definitely hire him for future projects."

Uses Deceptive business practices â  ï¸ he laughed at me after he had me demolition my house and revealed only after he thought the demolition was completed he then revealed the actual cost and said he knew about it withheld it from me. He also withheld the full blueprint plans lied about costs and lied to the attorney general about the project. He even emphasized that he should not be laughing at me because I did not react and sat there in shock that he was a bad person this whole time. And told me I would have to pay the extra cost now for him withheld crucial information. Save yourself the pain of using a horrible contractor and look somewhere else. Aka he stole $14+k and damages +$100,000."

"Modernized Exteriors seem to have built a decent deck for a decent price but in a somewhat sloppy and dishonest way. First, they left hundreds of pieces of debris including over 100 nails, screws, and other fasteners, and hundreds of pieces of the old deck lying around, including some pieces over six feet long, many with embedded nails sticking out. For months, nearly every time my daughters went out to play they came back with a handful of nails and screws. Second, the old deck had a notch through which the gutter downspout passed to reach the drain in the ground. Instead of cutting a notch for the downspout, they just tossed it behind a bush allowing the gutter to empty directly onto the deck. They promised a 12-month warranty, saying they'd come out to correct any defects. When I mentioned the disconnected gutter they initially said they'd fix it, but then ignored my follow-up messages when I asked them to actually do it. So they may not honor their promises."

"James Millions presented himself as a General Contractor that would take on the full project. We specifically told him we were looking for one contractor to fulfill every trade - even if that meant subcontracting out. In the end, that's not what happened. They sent us emails, "we don't have anyone to do that - sorry about that". Their communication was lacking - pretty much only email - a day or so later. Several times, they were on vacation and not reachable by us or their crew that was onsite. The site crew was fantastic. The site lead did everything he could to get the project completed, to best of his crew's ability. In the end, we had to manage the project by finding many other trades people to finish the job. What was supposed to be a small project, has been delayed because James' oversold his ability/desire to be the General Contractor of our job."
