"Beau and Ryan answered all of my questions and were very friendly. They showed up within the given time frame and removed the old tank and installed the new tank quickly and efficiently. The cost did go up due to replacing the water inlet and outlet lines and the gas inlet line. New tank, might as well have new lines. 1st Response should mention in their coupon that water/gas lines will add to the cost since Beau explained that the water lines almost always have to be replaced and the new gas line is required to maintain their lifetime warranty. Code required the installation of a condensation trap which at $125 I thought was a little over priced. Overall a good experience and I would probably use them again."

"We hired them to install a 40 foot french drain. Eric was very knowledgeable and professional, not to mention a very nice person and good listener. He was punctual and he and his crew were extemely hard workers. The job functions as promised, looks great and they were very conscientious about how they left the work area neat and clean. I wish I could hire them for other projects."

"Ron was very courteous and professional. He was very thorough and after unclogging my drain came back with three estimates for fixes. He tried to put a camera down my cleanout but couldn't get it open after trying for a while - he was trying to give me an estimate on how much longer I had left in my old cast iron pipes."

"Zach unplugged our kitchen drain, but it took him three attempts to reach the plug because according to him, the plug was almost 11 feet away. He was very informative and gave good advise as to how to prevent our sink from plugging up again in the future. With regards to the Apollo Plumbing, I feel that it is one of the most reliable companies you can depend on in case of emergency."

"French drain installation along a retaining wall (75 yards). Thomas who handled the sales end of things was friendly and responsive. The crew showed up on time. They were hard working and receptive of customer feedback. They first removed the ivy that was obstructing the work area and then completed the trench on day 1 which uncovered some of the unwelcome water sources. A legacy footing drain was plumbed directly into the main french drain pipe. Perpherated pipe was dropped in on Day 2 followed by river rock, catch basins, and 3 ft dry well installation. Cleanup was done thoroughly. I would hire them again in a heartbeat."

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, frozen pipes can prevent a toilet from working correctly. If the pipes are frozen, water cannot flow, which means your toilet tank won't be able to refill after a flush. This will prevent the toilet from flushing again. Depending on which lines are frozen, the ice can also block the drain pipe, preventing water from flushing away.

As a temporary workaround, you can manually add water to the tank for each flush. To clear a frozen drain pipe, you can try filling the toilet bowl or tank with warm water and flushing to help thaw the ice. However, the best long-term solution is to unfreeze the pipes to get your toilet back in working order.

Food grease, soap buildup, paper products, and tree roots often cause serious clogs.

An active cleaning agent and a drain snake is the best way to clean a main sewer line. You can purchase a regular or enzyme drain cleaner or make a DIY drain cleaner with baking soda. Use your chosen solution at least once a month or as needed to keep your sewer line clear.

Biodegradable drain cleaners use naturally derived ingredients, such as baking soda, vinegar, and boiling water, which bacteria and other microbes can break down. Unlike conventional cleaners that rely on corrosive bleach (sodium hydroxide), biodegradable options are gentler on fixtures and less harmful to the environment. Because they don't release harmful gasses, they are also safer to use, especially in households with children, and do not require the same safety precautions as bleach-based products.

That pungent rotten egg smell coming from your drain is likely the buildup of biofilm—hair, skin, and soap scum that turns into a black sticky mess. In this case, pouring down near-boiling water, baking soda, and white vinegar will remove the smell. Keep in mind that a rotten egg smell is occasionally a sign of larger sewage line clogs and other related issues.
