I was in a bind and called Pioneer Plumbing due to a main drain clog in my house. They sent out Justin lee and he put a camera down and explained exactly the problem tree roots and promptly removed them. He also gave me a lot of information about drain pipes and mine are over 100 years old but he did a thorough inspection and showed me they were in excellent condition. I am a senior living on a fixed income and he did this for an extremely reasonable price for the time he spent. He also gave me a senior discount. Obviously the price will vary on your issue but I am certain he will treat you fairly and attempt to minimize the cost. If you have a drain problem yes call Pioneer and ask for Justin! Definitely do this if you are a senior on fixed income.

We highly recommend Pioneer Plumbing. We used them to replace our sewer line and water line a few years ago, and we just had them replace all of the plumbing in our 100 year old house. It is wonderful to have good water flow and pressure in the house and we can rest easy knowing that everything has been done well! My husband and I also enjoyed the experience of working with them. After they gave us the bid and we decided to accept it, they scheduled us within 2 weeks, they showed up on time, provided us with good advice on where shutoff valves should go, and did excellent work. Per our recommendation, our neighbors also just hired them to do some major plumbing work and are highly satisfied. Will and Cedar are excellent workers and we enjoyed getting to know them.

I can’t recommend Pioneer enough. Everyone is professional and friendly, the quality of their work is excellent, they are prompt, and the prices are very fair. Everyone we’ve worked with has been polite, knowledgeable, and focused on doing high quality work. Everyone always leaves the job site clean, nothing gets broken, they explain everything they are doing (if we want) and make sure we understand the choices available. They arrive when they say they will and never try to up-sell us on anything. Pioneer has done a great job for us with both “emergency” drain / sewer issues and routine plumbing valve replacements; we can’t imagine calling anyone else.

My wife and I were getting estimates for an insulation upgrade to an older section of our home when it was brought to our attention that the galvanized pipe in our crawlspace had developed multiple slow pinhole leaks. Before insulating, we would have to have it replaced with modern plumbing. David was dispatched from Pioneer to evaluate the situation. Friendly and professional, he did a thorough assessment, clearly explained what would be involved, and offered us the choice of an hourly rate or a bid. We went with the bid, which was much more reasonable than what we got from a competitor. We were on a tight schedule with the insulator scheduled for the following week (see my review of that experience under Insulation). When calling Pioneer, the dispatcher Steve was very helpful and worked with us to ensure we would get the job done on time, even as they were dealing with an emergency. David and his assistant, Cedar, arrived early and completed the job before the end of the day. They took out all of the galvanized pipe, replaced it with state-of-the-art plumbing, explained everything clearly, answered all of our questions and did a complete cleanup. We are absolutely satisfied with the work done by Pioneer, as well as our interaction with their employees, and would definitely call them again for any plumbing needs.

Pioneer Plumbing was initially very responsive in scheduling a service visit. Once the technician was onsite, attempts to
improve water flow issue in first kitchen sink was unsuccessful and resulted the the water flow being even worse than before, so we did not proceed with the planned work on the second kitchen sink faucet.  We were invoiced for the visit where the technician made our plumbing problem worse.

The technician was unfamiliar with our hot water heater system and called an expert who suggested two different replacements to our heating system including: replacing hot water tank, replacing whole-house hot water circulator.  I contacted Pioneer Plumbing and spoke to the owner several times to get an estimate on the replacement work and options. The owner was responsive at first and gave a verbal estimate for the labor and parts, but follow up calls to Brian to for more information were not returned.

We had a kitchen leak and scheduled an appt 5 days out. On the day of the appt., the leak was so bad that we had to call the city to shut off the water and Pioneer cancelled on us, saying that they had other emergencies and couldn't reschedule us for a week. We had initially called them because they were responsive to some toilet issues we had a few months back.

No additional details.  If they don't call you back after you reach out twice, and patiently wait for them, that pretty much tells you all you need to know.

Our sewer was clogged!  Jason was very nice and determined the problem quickly, brought in the "sewer machine" and in just a little while had cleared the offending tree roots!  Whew!  I had been concerned that there would be some major problem causing the blockage. My only complaint was that I would have appreciated a courtesy call when there was a significant delay in arrival time.  I had to call two times as I stayed home waiting for the expected late morning appointment to arrive finally in the late afternoon.   Still, all in all it was very satisfactory service.  Jason was very neat and efficient and gave me maintenance  pointers to avoid the problem in the future.  I would gladly recommend Pioneer Plumbing.

Response from Pioneer Plumbing & Heating
"Thank you for taking time out to review us! We make it policy to always provide a two-hour window for all our customers, this allows our plumbers to do quality work and commute from job to job at a steady pace. Tip: if you don't like the two-hour window option, you can always request to be the first appointment of the day."

Some tree roots and general build-up in my sewer line led to a back-up of raw sewage and water into the basement apartment.  I didn't initially understand the cause, however.  I first had a plumber come and attempt to snake the line.  He also put a camera down there when he couldn't remove the blockage.  However, the camera got stuck where it was completely submerged in water, so it was impossible to see the actual cause.  The plumber recommended I call a company that specializes in drains/sewers.  He recommended Pioneer.
I called around and talked to multiple companies to get some estimates.  It's worth mentioning that when one of the companies realized they couldn't do my job in the timeframe I needed, they pointed me to Pioneer as well.  Out of the 3 bids I received, Pioneer was in the middle (about $500 higher than the low bid).  I liked that they sent someone out to the house within an hour of my call who took the time to locate my line before giving me a ballpark figure for the required work.  (One of the other companies didn't bother to figure out how deep the hole would actually need to be, estimated 2 feet deeper than necessary, and gave me an estimate that was 2X Pioneer's estimate.)
I appreciated that Pioneer prioritized my job and got to work the next business day because I had to get tenants back in the house.  They were efficient and got the job done in the timeframe expected (2 days) - even though it was a hand dig (too tight of a spot to get a machine in there) and there was a problem with the jetter once the cleanout was installed.  (The clog was really stubborn.)
To dig the hole, they had to cut through some hardscape - 4X6 ties anchored with rebar.  Although they didn't put things back exactly as it was (not possible and I wasn't expecting them to), they got pretty darn close.  I was pleasantly surprised at how normal the area looked after they backfilled the hole (most of the ties are re-set, they put the gravel back over the hole).
I will have Pioneer perform routine inspections and cleaning of my line from now on (and will likely have them come to my primary residence to see if I need maintenance there).
