"Matthew of Trident Plumbing and Drain Cleaning came to camera our entire downspout underground drainage system. He was able to provide service the same day we called, bringing along a state-of-the-art camera system and underground pipe locator. Matthew spent a lot of time with us, fully diagnosed our system, and suggested sensible next-steps with possible remediations for our drainage issues. He has a smart, can-do, and thorough approach combined with a customer friendly attitude. Pricing was reasonable. Kudos and a strong recommendation for Trident Plumbing and Drain Cleaning!"

"I was aware that we needed to replace our water heater and took advantage of the deal on Angie's List. Because of summer vacation schedules, I pushed off the installation for several weeks. While I was on vacation, they contacted me that they had some vacation schedule issues for the week of our planned appointment so when I returned home, I rescheduled the installation to yesterday with a two hour arrival appointment. The office confirmed our appointment the day before and the technician called before the arrival time to let me know he was running behind and gave me an estimate of when he would arrive, and again called to tell me the exact time he would be here (I appreciated that they kept me informed and he was only an hour later than originally planned). Interestingly, the appointment was fortunate since our water heater had pooped out the night before! The technician arrived, very professional, and we talked about what he was planning to do before he started, made recommendations for replacement of some of attached equipment and the reasoning why replace, and what the cost of those replacements would be before he started, and gave me an estimate of how long the installation would take. When he finished, he went through the completed equipment with me and left a clean worksite. Trace was an excellent representative for the company. I would use this company again if needed."

"I needed some additional work done to remove a kitchen disposal and put new pipes in and also to have pipes replaced on a back bathroom we had just remodeled. Mad Pipers did such a great job with the large re-piping job I hired them for over the summer, I didn't hesitate to call Zack & Ragen for the quote for the additional work. They replied promptly and we scheduled the work within a few days. The work was completed by Curtis who arrived on-time and did a great job! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone in need of plumbing services!"

"Seatown did mostly a good job I suppose installing a new gas burning high efficiency furnace. When the salesperson was providing their initial consultation, they pointed out that our existing thermostat would have to be replaced and the 3-wire thermostat wire would need to be upgraded to 8-wire for the high efficiency furnace. They were going to charge me some exorbitant fee to pull the new wire through 5 feet of wall. When I questioned it, they knocked it down to $500. I told them I'd buy new wire and pull it through myself before they showed up. Needless to say I was pleased to find out that the technician only used 3 of the wires anyway so that attempted overcharge would have been for nothing? Also the technician very cleverly did NOT place the new thermostat on the wall such that it covered up the old hole in the wall so I had to move it after they left. I can't say I was too happy with the furnace exhaust pipe. First, they placed the exhaust pipe above our gas meter but the inspector didn't flag it so I guess there's no issue. Also they used non-paintable caulk to seal the exhaust pipe so that painting it to blend in with the siding was a bit of a problem. They also didn't provide any sort of screen for the exhaust pipe to keep animals from crawling in it. When I questioned that they said that the carbon monoxide would kill them. So their solution is to have a dead animal in our furnace exhaust? Not to mention that doesn't really work in the summer when the furnace isn't running. Other than those rookie mistakes I noticed, I'm sure everything else was done properly?"

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

Clean regularly with non-abrasive cleaners, avoid pouring grease down the drain, and check for leaks under the sink.

Usually it’s fine to leave a toilet clogged overnight, as long as it’s not close to overflowing. In some cases, the extra time may give the clog time to work itself out. For example, if it’s caused by an excess of toilet paper, letting it sit could result in the clog dissolving and you may be able to simply flush it away by the time you wake up.

Only let it sit though if you have more than one toilet in the home.

Your sewer line can get grimy quickly. To prevent sludge buildup in your sewer line, pour a mixture of 1/3 cup of vinegar and 1/3 cup of baking soda down each drain in your home once a month. After about 30 minutes, flush the drain with hot water.

Some plumbers recommend 3/4 cup of bleach instead to clean any germs and bacteria that may build up in your sewer line. But this won’t break down any active clogs, and it cannot be combined with vinegar, as the mixture will create a toxic, hazardous gas.

Anything from debris, rust, ice, and even poor installation can cause clogs in your plumbing vents. Some signs of a clog include slow drains, gurgling sounds in drains and toilets, and bad odors. The bad odors are the most concerning, as these can include methane and hydrogen sulfide. Contact a plumber to come take a look if you notice any of these signs.

If your drain doesn’t have metal crosshairs or crossbars, you should use a tub drain extractor. These tools create a grip on the drain so you can turn it using a 1/2-inch ratchet drive, drain key, or wrench. Your drain may not have crosshairs if it's old and broken.
