"Keith is very kind, proficient, and knowledgeable! He and his crew did an amazing job on our fence/gates and even fixed a part of an old fence that blew down in the neighbors yard! I would highly recommend his services and look forward to working with S&S Fencing again. Thank you!"

"The quality of work was excellent. They did a great job. I couldn't be happier. They were easy to communicate. We change our mind a few times and it's okay with them. The neighbors keep on commending our fence."

"Sam replaced 60 ft of fencing for us. His price was reasonable, he used quality materials, showed up when he said he would, and he did a great job! The fence looks beautiful. Definitely recommend!"

"OMG I love my new fence, they came when they said they would. They did the work, cleaned up all the mess and I am so excited to allow my large breed dog outside now. Not to worry if the kids next door will tease or bother me or my dog again. 6 feet high and privacy slates is the way to go, I am bragging to everyone I know, LOVE LOVE LOVE my fence and the price was prefect. Thank you, Duke for doing such a wonderful job. I will call you again if I need to upgrade my chainlink."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

When hiring a fencing professional in Seattle, prioritize those with experience handling the city’s wet soil and uneven terrain. Check for strong local references, proper insurance, and clear knowledge of neighborhood fence installation guidelines. Reliable pros should offer written warranties and avoid demanding full payment upfront. Be wary of unusually low bids, which may indicate shortcuts or lack of familiarity with Seattle’s unique conditions.

Helpful?

In Seattle, small fencing projects typically take two to three weeks, while larger or more complex fence installations can extend to six weeks. Rainy weather and permit processing may cause delays, especially from fall through spring. Scheduling your project during the summer helps minimize interruptions, but always allow extra time for site preparation and unexpected weather-related setbacks in Seattle’s climate.

Helpful?

Seattle’s rainy weather and high humidity can accelerate wood decay, promote moss buildup, and cause metal fencing to rust. The best time for fence installation is during the drier summer months, as wet conditions can delay work and affect concrete curing. Planning for proper drainage and using moisture-resistant materials helps protect your fence from Seattle’s persistent dampness and ensures long-term durability.

Helpful?

In Seattle, cedar is a top choice for fence installation due to its natural resistance to rot, insects, and moss growth, which is common in the area’s damp climate. Composite and vinyl fencing also perform well, resisting moisture and mildew. For hardware, opt for stainless or galvanized steel to prevent rust, and use quick-set concrete for posts to ensure stability during frequent rain.

Helpful?

Completing a fencing project in Seattle offers immediate privacy and security, especially in densely populated neighborhoods. Over time, quality fencing can increase property value, reduce maintenance by preventing moss and rot, and help manage water runoff on sloped lots. Well-chosen fences also shield outdoor spaces from wind and rain, making yards more usable and aligning with local neighborhood standards.
