"I contacted 2 highly-reviewed and rated companies, American Tree Care being one of them. Ammon, the owner is knowledgeable, personable, and truly cares that you walk away having had a good experience. Price wise, they were a tad bit lower than the other well-rated company (Both were fair and reasonable in my opinion). He was able to work with me on schedule and made sure that the surrounding trees were protected while his crew was working. Hard working crew who were knowledgeable, and didn't waste any time getting to work. Excellent experience and highly recommend. I will definitely be calling Ammon at American Tree Care first"

"The process went great. The crew was on time, efficient, personable and professional. They had a great system and everyone on the crew knew what needed to be done. Our yard was kept free of debris and when the process was done not only had they removed the trees but they had taken away some debris and old firewood that we had in the backyard too. We have asked them to come give us a bid for another monster tree and would definitely use them again."

"Grant was on time. Got back to me with details about the job in very prompt fashion. He limbed some precarious Alder trees. AND he landed the branches with minimal damage to the extensive garden of plants under the trees. Great price and very clean quality work. He cleaned up everything and completed the job as discussed. Highly recommend him to anyone needing tree service."

"Outstanding service! Jon and his wife are consummate professionals, and their work ethic is outstanding. We had seven trees taken down that were threating our house. Once the job was completed, they left the work site was left cleaner than when arrived. Will be hiring Jon's Top Tree Service for all our tree service requirements. These people are outstanding."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

In Seattle, the timeline for tree service projects varies by scope and site conditions. Simple pruning or removing a small tree can take 1–3 hours, while large tree removals or storm cleanup may require 1–2 days. Projects near power lines, on steep lots, or during rainy weather can extend timelines, especially if permits or specialized equipment are needed for safe access.

Helpful?

Your Seattle home is a good candidate for tree service projects if you have dead, leaning, or storm-damaged trees, roots lifting sidewalks, or branches threatening power lines. Properties with large Douglas Fir, Cedar, or Maple trees, or those blocking sunlight or scenic views, often benefit from professional tree care. Overgrown trees impacting curb appeal or home safety also signal the need for expert attention.

Helpful?

In Seattle, homeowners often overlook the need for tree service permits, especially when removing larger or protected trees. Scheduling work during the rainy season without planning for mud or delays is also common. Choosing contractors unfamiliar with local tree species or city regulations, neglecting to check for proper insurance, and failing to protect nearby gardens or structures are frequent mistakes.

Helpful?

Completing tree service projects in Seattle can enhance your home’s value and resale appeal. Pruning or removing trees to open up water or mountain views is highly sought after locally. Well-maintained trees improve curb appeal and reassure buyers about property safety. However, removing healthy mature trees or excessive pruning can reduce privacy and negatively impact your home’s desirability.

Helpful?

When hiring for tree service projects in Seattle, prioritize professionals with experience in local tree species and knowledge of city permit requirements. Confirm they carry up-to-date insurance and offer detailed written estimates, including cleanup. Look for strong local references and avoid those soliciting after storms or offering unusually low bids. Familiarity with Seattle’s weather and challenging property access is essential for quality results.
