Through unique technology, experience and compassion, we serve our customers while creating and maintaining a reputation of excellence. We service: Pierce County, King County, Thurston County, and Kitsap County.

"there is a quick summary at the bottom if you want to skip the details. I have received service from this company twice. The first time I had a leak in a bathtub. They removed the drain with a Dremel since it was stuck, then they were about to leave to go to home depot to get plumber's putty, but I had some so they were able to get the part quickly replaced. Maybe this is a bit of a fluke, but that seems like a fairly basic thing to have when going to fix this kind of leak. Overall it was a positive interaction so I didn't think much of it. I recently bought a bidet on amazon. It arrived and I put it in. The problem was that I couldn't connect the toilet to the wall since the hose was a different size then the wall piece. The directions wanted me to remove the valve stem from the wall and replace it with their own. I called A Advanced because when it comes to plumbing, i would rather leave that to the professionals. I had called it a hose bibb because I just didn't know what it was called. someone called me back and asked me to explain in better detail what i needed done. I explained that the "hose bibb" needed to be replaced for me to connect my toilet and that I had the part to do it. from that conversation i received an estimate for $280.87. I was at work that day so couldn't be there, but my wife was there. The plumber that arrived worked for a while on the toilet, then went to home depot to find parts, then came back to the house and worked on it longer, then finally decided that it couldn't be done. We were charged $768.14 for nothing to get fixed. I called them to figure out what happened, I called near closing so they were not able to get a hold of anyone and it waited until the next week for me to talk to someone. I found out that the plumber never received the bag of parts, it was about 2 feet away in the sink. the same plumber came out and looked at it again, and went to home depot again. I was at work and managed to contact him while he was at home depot. I was told that the problem was with the thread depth and that there was no way to install this Chinese toilet without special ordering a part, and if I wanted him to keep working on it he was going to have to charge me more money. I declined. (Its not a Chinese toilet, the company that makes them is out of California.) At this point I was beyond frustrated. I left work early, drove home, went to home depot with the parts I needed to connect, and found a perfect fit within about 10 minutes of looking. I bought a Hex Bushing 3/4 in MIP x 1/2 in FIP for $7.75. I attached it to the included hose and then attached that to the valve stem. and everything worked. Home depot made it easy to find since both connectors were the same type. I just needed to find the appropriate brass adapter. the threads on the toilet hose are identical to the threads on a US water heater. I called A Advanced back and presented my evidence. I was asked what it would take to make this right. I asked for some of my money back. I can understand getting charged for the plumber going out to my house without a full understanding of what is going on. but at no point did he ever tell my wife that he was going way over the estimate. this is the exact response i got back. "I spoke with my COO and my foreman due to the amount of time we spent on the project we are unable to provide any sort of refund. I understand that is not something you want to hear but that is our decision." _____________________________________________ to summarize: - every time this company has come out to my house they have needed to go to Home Depot during the visit. - I was charged nearly 3 times the estimate with no work done and no warning that the bill was piling up. - the plumber was never able to install the toilet despite multiple trips to home depot - I installed the toilet with a $7 adapter i found at home depot in about 10 minutes. (I am not a plumber) - The company chose to not refund me anything If a plumbing company needs to go to home depot every time they do a house call, that is a company that is not prepared at best, and a scam company at worst."

"Awesome job and service from Seatown. I called Seatown after looking at the reviews online. My main breaker had tripped several times over the course of a month, very concerning since I knew my 82 year old house had knob and tube wiring. For the initial assessment, Craigan W. came out and explained that my house only had 100 amps coming in. I really had no idea what that meant and Craigan took the time to tell me about the amp usage for the major appliances. Apparently, using the washer, dryer, oven and dishwasher at the same time was taxing my system to the limit. Craigan went through the house, noting items that were not up to code and reviewing my options with me. He was very thorough and professional. Although it was very expensive, I decided to have the whole house rewired along with updating the breaker box/increasing the amps to 200. The next step was the installation. The installation team consisted primarily of Kurt Hodge and Tyler. On the first day, they walked through the house and garage and explained how the work would proceed. Kurt and Tyler were a great team. They work so well together and worked solidly every day. There was no downtime for them - they were working hard every day. Each evening they would clean up, pack up the trash and vacuum up what they could. They would review with me what they did that day, and what they were going to work on the next day. The job was scheduled for 9 days but they completed it a day ahead of time. Part of this might have been the extra help they had a few of the days from another Tyler and someone else whose name I don't remember. All of them were great, very friendly, patiently answered all of my questions throughout the process, and always wore masks. I would highly recommend the whole team, especially Kurt and Tyler. Also, a shout out to the office staff. I spoke with a number of different people at the office and was so impressed with how friendly they were. Kudos."

Excel General Contractor is a full service home remodeling and construction contractor. We offer a high level of customer service while maintaining fair pricing. Our team is small enough that you get individualized attention but big enough to get your project done effectively and efficiently. We do all projects from small repairs and renovations up to designing and building you a complete new custom home.

"Nate allowed me to order my bathtub myself, which was nice. Lowe's failing to deliver when promised, was not. This delayed the start, and although it did take longer than I expected, everything came out great. They did not charge me extra after the water damage was exposed, which was a relief. One of the other estimates I got from a general contractor was for 3x as much, AND they planned to add on after the wall was opened. The bathroom specialists wanted 150% of what we paid, and I think we ended up with better results."

We are a family owned & locally operated general construction / remodel company with over 60 combined years in the industry. Although we are general contractors and can do everything, we specialize in kitchen and bathroom remodeling. We have found that through proper communication and great listening our customers are more at ease and comfortable from beginning to end. It is our pleasure to provide top service in design assistance, material decisions, planning, demo and project completion. We go out of our way to uniquely tailor our service to each of our customers needs, wants and desires. We realize our customers invite us into their homes to provide the best service possible and we don't stop until we have done our best to help our customers turn their dreams into a reality. Thank you kindly for taking the time to look into Johnson and Sons Construction, LLC. We look forward to the opportunity to serve!

"I reached out to Johnson & Sons and several other contractors to discuss the possibility of opening up and completely remodeling my kitchen and bathrooms, with the addition of a shower to the former half bath off the master suite. After receiving bids and meeting with each contractor, I went with Johnson & Sons due to the transparency and consideration Vic Johnson showed when discussing the project and its challenges, as well as providing a detailed quote. Because this remodel involved the removal of walls, tiling of the kitchen/bathrooms, potential size constraints, and a re-plumbing of the house, It was very important for me that things be done correctly, to code and with permits. Once demo and construction started, things proceeded at a brisk pace with minimal lag between subcontractors, and inspections. Their tile guy, Tony was great to work with and very helpful with making the appropriate detail selections around the showers. We did have a long wait for a cosmetic piece of cabinet siding, which ended up being the final part needed to complete the project. Vic was direct with me about the issue and the delay. Such a minor issue is in my opinion, very small potatoes compared to having quality work done. Ultimately, Johnson & Sons came in slightly under their contract price - a very pleasant and welcome surprise."

My family has been in the construction industry for nearly 100 years in this state. I personally have nearly 30 years of hands on experience. I have lived in WA state my entire life, my wife and I currently live in Olympia WA. My goal is to give a very high quality of craftsmanship for a fair price. I take the utmost pride in my craftmanship. While I have a (206) area code cell phone number please know that we are local (98516) and live off of Johnson Point Road in East Olympia. Please look at my photos here on Angie's List and also look me up on Facebook under Vanderlip Construction to see more. Thank you and please keep me in mind for your next home remodel.

"Vanderlip Construction brought our ideas and vision to a reality on a master and guest bathroom remodel in our 1961 rambler. Eric is both an organized contractor and an experienced craftsman. He is a thoughtful and very responsive communicator who we could always count on to perform the tasks he scheduled throughout our project. He brought in very skilled team of subcontractors who he made sure didn’t disrupt our home life and office work activities. Eric was generous with sharing his expertise and insights that helped us make decisions on key details. We had about an 80 percent design and selected all the tile, fixtures, and custom cabinets but Eric’s attention to detail brought it all together, especially on our counters and master bath shower. Always patient and friendly, he wanted to make sure we were satisfied with the progression and the outcomes. He’s also committed to backing up his work. I suffered a serious leg injury after the remodel and Eric kindly went the extra step to come to our house and install a new light fixture in our bedroom. He scored an A+ on both bathrooms and we made a new friend."

"Builder Land did an amazing job with my project! I can't recommend them enough-very pleased with their work and the experience working with them! I have a small business that I wanted to add a shower and have the existing bathroom remodeled. From the beginning Edward took the time to hear all the details of the project and understand them, he also was very helpful with offering ideas when I was unsure of some of the design details. He has a good eye for excellence and didn't miss a detail. Edward and his crew were very professional, personable, respectful and cleanly. "had a deeply frustrating experience with Hunt’s HVAC Services that reflects a serious lack of professionalism and customer care. They contacted me early last week to schedule service for my HVAC system, and I agreed to their preferred date—the following Monday. I received a confirmation email on Sunday and a reminder Monday morning for the upcoming afternoon appointment. I drove 1.5 hours to the service site, only to be met with confusion and poor communication. When I called at 12:30 to ask for a specific arrival time, I was told the technician would contact me 30 minutes before arriving—but they couldn’t give me a time estimate. I waited another 2.5 hours before receiving a call informing me that no technician would be coming at all. My only options were to reschedule or cancel. I asked to speak with a manager and was placed on long hold. Eventually, I was told the manager was “too busy” to speak with me and would call me later. That call never came. This experience was a complete waste of time and resources, and the lack of accountability was appalling. Hunt’s HVAC Services failed to honor their commitment, communicate effectively, or show basic courtesy. I strongly advise others to stay away from this business."

Sink Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes. You can replace just the stopper portion with a universal sink stopper. All you need to do is open up the existing stopper and pull it up from the drain. You should be able to remove and replace the stopper with bare hands. If the existing stopper seems to be stuck, use a pair of pliers to remove it.

Today’s standard sink stopper size is 1.5 inches. However, you can still find different sizes if your house uses an older sink stopper. Other sizes you can find in most hardware stores include one inch, 1-1/4 inch, 1-3/8 inch, 1-5/8 inch, 1-7/8 inch, 2 inch, 2-1/4 inch, 2-3/8 inch, and 2.5 inch.

Wall-mounted faucets are installed 6 to 8 inches above the countertop. The height you choose is very significant because the wrong choice will lead to a faucet that splashes water everywhere. Your installer should have a good recommendation based on your sink type, size, and shape. A good installer will ensure the sink is comfortable and splash-free.

Hiring an emergency plumber—on a holiday such as Brown Friday or in the middle of the night—is more expensive than a regular hire. The cost for an emergency plumber ranges between $100 and $500 on average, with most visits costing around $170 . Holidays can be three times as expensive as calls made during normal working hours.

Local plumbing codes and manufacturer recommendations typically dictate the minimum distance between a sink and a dishwasher. This is generally 18 to 24 inches, providing enough room for easy loading and unloading of dishes without hindering the sink's function. Maintaining this separation not only adds convenience but also reduces the chances of water damage and optimizes plumbing connections.
