Ed is the owner and I have used him at my own home 4-5 times now and referred him to other clients of mine. He is honest and dependable and thorough with no BS. He is not the rock bottom cheapest but in my opinion, you get what you pay or don't pay for and on plumbing, I want it done right at a reasonable price. Will always call him!

It took a while to get our schedules aligned, but once we did Ed showed up on time and did a great job. It was his suggestion to bring the shut off valve into the pantry for easy access. The old shut off required crawling under the house about 10 feet to get to it. He also had a better idea for the heater overflow than another vendor (NW Plumbing) and at a fraction of their quote. We did end up with a very minor leak at the shut off valve, but Ed is taking care of it.
We highly recommend hiring Ed for any plumbing you need.

Ed has been to our house a few times over the years and is always wonderful.
We had a leaky water heater. Replaced with a new unit by another plumber. New unit started leaking too. The plumber who installed the water heater suggested that the cause of the original leak, and the leak of the new water heater was due to a faulty pressure regulator valve where city water meets the house. That plumber quoted me a price of $600 for the fix.
I called Ed. Ed suggested that we rebuild the valve -- that it would be easier and cost less. But parts for the valve were not available. He quoted me a price of $285 for parts and labor to replace the entire valve with a new one.
When Ed got here, he discerned that the valve was probably fine. He suggested that we keep an eye on things, order replacement parts for the valve just in case. Even though I was prepared to pay Ed to replace the valve he suggested that we don't.
Ed was going to leave without charging me (even though he tracked down and purchased a replacement valve and drove 15 miles to get here). I insisted on paying him for the trip. He reluctantly took $50.
Anyway, my plumbing problem may or may not be fixed for the long term. But at the moment things are fine.
Ed is a truly honest plumber. Hire him.

Ed was great through the whole project. He gave a timely bid after visiting the job. The contract was clear as to the work being performed. As with many remodeling projects, the best laid plans often change as did ours and he worked with the changes in scheduling without any issues. He demolished the old galvanized plumbing and installed new PEX lines throughout the house. He does quality work at a fair price. We will use him again as our needs arise. Thanks.

Ed came out and diagnosed the issue as being due to inferior washers and quot;fixedand quot; with plumbers putty in a system with otherwise quality parts. He had to order the proper washers, and brought them on a second trip. When they didn't work, he determined the manifold itself had a tiny crack that allowed continued leaking. He ordered the part and installed it on a third trip. He left the system in working order, and I had the drip going into a bucket, so the extra time was no issue. Each time, Ed patiently answered all my questions, and I had full confidence in his work. When the system was running again with the new manifold, he checked the water heater, which was old but working fine. We discussed maintenance, and options for when the water heater does need replacement. He has extensive knowledge, and I was really impressed by his quality work for an honest price.

I called American Craftsman for a checkup and annual service on my heating system, which is a gas-fired boiler and older radiators. Ed was professional from the first phone call through the entire service. He took the time to explain thoroughly what was going on with my system, tried the least expensive approach first to addressing a few problems, and came back the same day to replace a part that was faulty. He didn't pressure me to add new parts or do more than was necessary like some vendors do. And he explained it at my level, so I really knew what I was paying for, and what the condition of my system is. I felt I could trust him, and I really appreciated how friendly and professional he was. I would recommend him STRONGLY!

He is great. We would highly recommend him. He is very courtious, on time, and proffessional. His bills are fair. He is clean, neat, and orderly. Unlike other professionals, he does not accidentally wreck other things while he works.

Called Ed at 5:30 PM on a Friday after breaking a tee on our water main - losing water to our house. Ed was able to come by within 30 minutes had a great attitude as he dug into the deep muddy ground and he was able to fix the problem in about an hour and a half. He is very knowledgeable and creative in finding solutions to complex plumbing challenges. I usually fix things myself and after working with Ed, I was reminded how good it is to hire an expert - job was done fast and right.
I definitely recommend Ed as a plumber!

Ed ran new pipes in kitchen as we moved the sink location; also added 2 nd sinks to two bathrooms and moved location of sink in a third bath. He ran water line for a refrigerator. Installed 3 toilets; ran gas line to outdoor fireplace. Installed new faucets in two kitchen sinks and 3 baths.

For rental properties, he handled routine leaks and clogs and communicated well with the tenants. Always thorough and professional.

As reported, Ed and his assistant were punctual, neat, professional and consulted us on siting of vents, etc. He had included removal or our (enormous) old boiler in his bid but when we decided to do it ourselves, he had no objection and modified his bid accordingly. Good man/company to work with.

Found Ed during a terrible ordeal when we discovered our entire 12 units of newer townhomes had a defective hydronic heating system. He eventually repaired and replaced all the failed systems in all the units due to his reasonable price, reliability and expertise of knowledge in plumbing and hydronic heating systems. Ed owns the company and does all the work so you know what you are getting. Since then we have used Ed for all our plumbing needs, at least 5 other times at 2 rental homes. It's great to find a plumber that you can trust, is very experienced and that is reasonable. In fact, once we were on vacation in Hawaii and get 'the call' from our tenant with a plumbing issue. I just called Ed and he quickly took care of the problem and I didn't worry or waste time. He won't rip you off and you know he will do the job right! We would of course highly recommend him.

During a remodel project we lost our hot water. We thought the hot water heater would need to be replaced. Ed came out the afternoon that I called and determined that new roughed in plumbing did not have the cartridges installed so there was nothing to prevent the cold water from crossing over into the hot water. He installed the cartridges in two valves and hot water was restored. Thank you Ed!

I called Ed on Monday and he came out at 8:00 the next morning, right on time. After looking at the problem, he explained that the old kitchen faucet unit needed to be replaced because it had cheap plastic parts that had broken. While Ed dismantled the old faucet, I raced over to Home Depot and bought a new Kohler faucet unit. I also asked him to fix the toilets in both bathrooms, so while I was gone (about 35 minutes) he finished taking the old faucet unit out and replaced the flappers in both toilets, plus fixed a stopper in the bathroom sink that was stuck. He put in the new Kohler unit and it works fine. The total amount spent includes $200 for the new faucet. Ed's bill was $233, including tax. The work took a total of 3 hours. Ed was professional, knowledgeable, and nice. I would definitely hire him again.

We've used Ed and his team before and were as happy this time as we were before. His work quality is top notch and he's also a really nice guy, someone you feel comfortable having in your home. The toilet replacement went quickly and smoothly, and they even took the old one and all the packaging out of the house for us. As regards the leaky valve (which our dishwasher installer insisted was bad) Ed checked it thoroughly and even a second time, and explained it was fine and did not need replacing. I really appreciated his honesty. If you value high-quality, local, small-business plumbing services, you can't go wrong with American Craftsman.
