"One could not ask for much more with Vlad from AWP. He was willing to take the time to discuss what he was doing and explain options. His work is very neat and precise and he maintained a very clean work environment. As someone who does most of their own work, I can assure you that I will utilize AWP for all my plumbing needs in the future."

"Aces Four did a rebuild of the original footing drain along the basement side of our split level home   We had early success with interior drains shortly after the home was built but had gradually been getting wet lower walls and increasing floor seepage so we wanted a ?final? solution.  The total depth of the required excavation was almost 10 feet.
We had 4 bids to fix the problem with solutions from ?adding a sump? to replacing all footing drains. The Aces Four bid showed they understood our problem and their solution addressed what was needed but didn?t go overboard.
We recommend Aces Four because they are:
  • Thorough:  Rick, the owner, took time to determine the underlying cause of our problem.  When the crew encountered an unexpected underground spring he added a 3rd person to keep the project on track and make sure the flow was captured in the new drain system all within the fixed bid price.
  • Skilled:  Yung, our project lead, did precise and quick work.  My wife and I found it fascinating to watch him use the backhoe and small dozer like a surgeon. When it was time to replace the excavated material Yung could use the dozer blade to scrape right down to the plastic used to protect the lawn. Yung communicated with us regularly on the project status.
  • Quick:  Our crew didn?t juggle multiple jobs.  We got a great 2 person team, Yung and Trevor, who stayed on the project until it was done, including cleanup.

The crew also had great equipment.  This is especially important if you are responsible for landscaping after the project was complete as we were.  The right equipment for tight space digging does much less damage than full sized equipment would."

"Very happy with the entire experience. Got an estimate which was the lowest of the 4 plumbing companies that I contacted for the job. I felt the price was reasonable and pretty close to the price I thought it would cost. The job was done at the agreed upon estimate quote price, no additional cost after the fact. I was able to schedule the job next day. The Plumber was on time and only took him 1 1/2 hours to complete the job. Work was very well done and very happy with result. Cost - $1,339.00 + Tax."

"I called Hagee this morning at 815 am and at 2.30 the same afternoon the sink is working, the clog gone, and the kitchen is all cleaned up.  Caleb did an amazing job fixing everything up, plus he cleaned up the space and corrected my husband's slight plumbing error.   Caleb let me know he was on his way, and then left me with his business card should we need anything else.

He highly recommended the hydro clean, and I am planning to schedule that sooner rather than later.  Everyone I spoke with at Hagee was fabulous.  Thank you Caleb and Hagee team.

"We liked the designer assigned to us, Georgia. We finalized the design towards the end of January and later got a work date in July. There were good selection of materials that did not cost more than what was included in the quote. An engineer came over to inspect whether we could tear down the big wall in the kitchen prior to providing us a quote. The work crew, including the project manger, Brindon, were all polite and did a good job. Everything went well and on schedule until the last day: it was appliance installation day and nobody from Kitchen Plus was around. Brindon did tell us the day before that he would not come the following day and we did the walkthrough. We got the impression that this is quite the standard and went along with it. Who knew that the installation would bring up problems?! The pro installers, Elkay Services, came to install the fridge, steam oven, range, vent hood and microwave. We stayed upstairs to be out of their way. After about a couple hours we noticed that it's been quiet and went downstairs to check out the kitchen and hear what they would have to say, if any. To our surprise they were actually gone and didn't say anything nor left a note. Only the fridge and vent hood were installed and the rest were left in the kitchen. We had no idea why/what happened. The hardwood floors were scheduled for staining work the following day, so we didn't know what to do with the range as it was just in the middle of the kitchen. We called Kitchen Plus and they tried to sort it out. They sent their installations manager, Elliott, the next day to deal with it as we had to leave while the hardwood floors get stained (read: fumes). We learned that the electrician (provided by Kitchen Plus) kind of messed up the outlet for the range as well as that for the steam oven; and the microwave that we were told to purchase didn't actually fit in the slot they made for it. There were a few other minor hiccups that came up but most were fixed quickly. Last day of project was August 17th, if I'm not mistaken. It's already mid-October and sadly and unfortunately, the kitchen still is not completely finished. Still awaiting fix for the stand mixer storage (scheduled for next Monday) and we have yet to find out what trips out the microwave outlet often (work date TBD). We made a big mistake of paying it off when their man, Warren, came over two weeks ago to fix the stand mixer storage (NOT fixed yet). My husband thought it would make them speed it up and finish the project already. We shall see if the mixer storage really will be fixed on Monday, Oct. 17th, and when the microwave outlet will be repaired. I feel we should've followed our neighbor's advice to hold on to the balance and deduct $ for every day the problem doesn't get fixed. All in all, I'd say we still had a good to fair experience working with Kitchen Plus. I should note, however, that we wished there was some follow-up on their end after the last day of the project to also check how we liked it and/or if there was any problem. We felt this would've helped end it on a positive note and not make us feel like we just keep bothering them with these little things that need fixed. Would we use them again though? Yes, but will make sure their project manager is here until everything is fully completed, and recommend you do the same. It was a mistake on their part to pull out all of their crew when there were still work to be done the next two days, not directly by Kitchen Plus, but their subcontractors. Somebody should've been present to oversee it all."

"Disappointed. Sound Tile and Grout was on the pricer side and I definitely did not feel that I received what I paid for. Part of the initial install was done poorly (more joints than necessary, see picture) and required the provider to return to reinstall portions of the tile which I was charged extra for. The provider did not clean up at the end of each day nor was the area thoroughly cleaned after the job was completed. The provider left pieces of tile on our front sidewalk and a track of dirt and debris down our stairwell. Grout haze was also not fully removed. At the end of the day the completed install did turn out well, but I would not recommend this company due to the above concerns."

"I think it went very well, and I am pleased with my new home. The time estimate of six weeks was accurate, and the budget went about a thousand dollars over, which I thought was not bad for such an extensive project. Since I did not opt to hire a designer for this remodel, that meant that Sean and I had to spend many hours talking about the options and possibilities. Moving a whole wall (and a wet wall at that) was a big decision, and involved having a special steel beam fabricated  for the arch where the wall had been. Sean was very generous with his time in explaining what cabinets were available and how they would be organized. I really wanted a computer assisted drawing of what the new kitchen would look like, and although he doesn't have that capability in his shop, he went out and had it done, which helped my decision making greatly. He also managed to find a great deal on very attractive counter tops and a new sink, saving me a whole lot of money. When he gave me his first estimate for the work, and I found it was more than I could afford, he went back to the drawing board and creatively worked out a way for me to have a good looking and functional quality kitchen that would fit my budget.

Sean and his helper were extremely careful and their standards of quality are very high, which was a real plus for me, as I don't want corners cut on work done at my home. They were both willing to keep at any task until the result was perfect. It was clear that my satisfaction was a high priority for them. Many times they both went the extra mile, cheerfully and with good humor. They were very nice to my little dog, who was a bit upset at having his world turned upside down. By the time the job was over they felt like family and it was hard to say goodbye.

I would definitely use Sean again for any job, large or small. I highly recommend him."

"Don't hire anyone else. If you're looking for a company run by someone who understands what customer service looks like, call Perma-Dry. 4 years ago we worked with Perma-Dry to install an internal basement footing drain system - they were prompt, responsive, and did a great job. We've had zero issues. We recently discovered an issue with an old external drainage system (not installed by Perma-Dry) which backed up during a thunderstorm. When I discovered the issue, I called Ryan (owner) to get some help; he showed up at 9am on a Saturday (his day off) and spent 5 hours with me troubleshooting the issue and coming up with a temporary fix until he could get a crew out to install a permanent fix. He not only was a huge help, but his attitude was incredible - he was actually having fun working on his day off. In the 12 years I've owned my house, I've worked with dozens of contractors and never had an experience like that. True customer service is a lost art, Ryan and his team have shown us twice that they understand how to take care of customers and care enough to do the right thing."

Sink Installation questions, answered by experts

The time it takes to install a sink depends on whether you hire a professional or do it yourself, as well as the complexity of the job. A professional plumber can typically install a sink in 1 to 4 hours, with most routine jobs taking around 1 to 2 hours. However, more complicated installations will take longer. Projects that involve rerouting plumbing, installing an under-mount sink, or making countertop modifications can take a full day. Installing a sink with a prefab vanity could also stretch the project to 6 to 8 hours. If you plan to install the sink yourself, you should set aside 4 to 6 hours, though it could take longer. It's also recommended to have a friend help, especially if you are working with a heavy sink made of a material like porcelain.

The best option is to alter the plumbing. Moving and centering the drain pipe behind the sink usually does the trick and creates the sleek, minimalist look that pedestal sinks offer. If you don’t want to do any plumbing work, there are a few decorating hacks:

  • Painting the pipes

  • Placing shelves, plants, or baskets in front of the pipes

  • Adding a sink skirt

Emergency plumbers charge a significantly higher rate than for standard service, typically 1.5 to 3 times the normal hourly cost. You can expect to pay between $100 and $500 per hour, with an average of around $200 per hour. In addition to the higher hourly rate, many plumbers charge a flat emergency service or trip fee, which can be between $150 and $300. The final cost depends on the timing of the call; prices are highest for major holidays, followed by weekends and after-hours service on weekdays. For a complex job on a major holiday, a master plumber's rate could reach as high as $600 per hour.

Many homeowners stress about cleaning before an emergency plumber arrives, but you’re far better off doing the following while you wait for your plumber to get to your home:

  • Shut the water off at your water main if you have a leak or a burst pipe

  • Avoid using any water fixtures in your home, including appliances

  • Clear a path to the problem area so that it’s easily accessible

  • Consider shutting your breaker if you’re concerned that the leak may affect your electrical system

Touchless faucets are reliable. However, proper maintenance is necessary to keep them running flawlessly. Keep the nozzle area and sensor clean to promote the best functionality. Additionally, consider where the touchless faucet you choose gets its power. Battery-operated models will need regular battery replacements to ensure reliability, and the touchless function won't work in a hardwired version during a power outage.
