I had my countertop and backsplash replaced by Granite Transformations. During the sales process, I clearly explained that I had an additional issue that needed to be taken care of while replacing the countertop. The issue was that my stove was in the way of my dishwasher clearance, as a result of which the dishwasher door could not be opened fully. The salesperson assured me that the company would take care of the issue by cutting extra inches off the back of the countertop to allow the stove to slide back in just enough for the dishwasher door to open fully without obstruction. I signed the contract with this understanding. Not only did they not take care of the issue, what I am really upset about is they gave me a recommendation that turned out to their own acknowledgement to be wrong and cost me unnecessary time and money. The installers told me that I had to get a contractor to cut a hole in the wall behind my cabinet before they could come back out to cut the countertop. I did as suggested and when the installers came back out, they said there was nothing they could do and that to begin with, they didn't think cutting a hole in the back of the wall would have helped with the situation because the flange would anyway prevent the stove from sliding further back. So now I had to call the contractor back to repair the damaged wall and repaint and ended up paying $595 out of my pocket for a job that was not even necessary and did not address the issue. I raised this issue to the salesperson and sent the company back their survey form also raising the issue and to date, no one has cared to respond. I would never recommend this company to any of my friends given this experience.

Quick response and good work. Love our new countertops, and hope they last forever! It was good that there was little mess to install, but I think for what they were very expensive for what they are.

Each step of the process was a positive experience from meeting with Tom G., having a template created and then installation. Family, friends and guests love the look of my bathrooms and my fireplace is now the focal point of my home which gets compliments every time someone visits. The liberty diamond mosaic tile that is paired with Carrera marble granite looks amazing.

The sales representative was professional with complete detail
on the selection and install process. All conditions were met
by the install team: efficient, punctual and courteous.
The project had a Silgranite sink installed which was integrated
easily with the countertops. Workmanship quality and speed
made this remodel a definite positive experience.

Tom Greenwood is the consummate professional.  He took time to educate me on the product and process involved in my remodel.  I received a detailed bid which outlined the work which would be done down to the penny.  Communication was excellent and the installers arrived on time.  The work was done with excellence and the installers were very kind and professional as well.  I couldn't have asked for a better experience with Granite Transformations.  Tom even recommended another contractor for my bathroom remodels, which also turned out great.

It went great. They were the fourth bid we received and they were the only company that gave a complete bid with everything we asked for. They showed up and installed on the agreed date and everything looks wonderful, I highly recommend them.

This is a two-part project and a two-part response.

I gave the rating as I did because I don't want the company to look like an "Excellent" company because they are very flawed.  However, the installers were top notch and kept working at it until the final result was good.  If I only was asked to give a rating for the final result I would rate them higher, but for the benefit of future clients I could not do that.

First:  The granite countertops were installed in two days and look beautiful!  We're very happy with them and highly recommend the product.  Installers were great, punctual, skilled and friendly.  I would recommend their work.  Give this an "A".

Second: Re-facing kitchen cabinets.   Here is where the frustration and disappointment came in regarding customer service/quality.

This project was supposed to take 5-6 days.  It began in July and was completed on Sept. 28.  Here is why:  The installer, Colton,  arrived right on time and started to work.  After removing the old doors and prepping the cabinets he discovered that the materials he was given was short two drawers.  We needed 10 and 8 were ordered.  The owner of the company, Bob, was the person who came to measure and place the order initially.  So, two more drawers had to be ordered and that took 2 weeks.  Colton proceeded to install the wood facings on the cabinets.  After several were done, we saw that there were 3 visible scratches on a large piece.  That had to be re-ordered which delayed things another couple of weeks.  Also, I was shocked to find out that Colton planned to put a 'cap' piece on the corners of the cabinets to cover the ends of the wood pieces.  I had expected the edges to be mitered so they had a clean finish.  Apparently GT always cuts corners like this (no play on words).  I think that looks like something you would find on a manufactured/trailer home.  Guess I was pretty clear about my feelings (and I'm usually such a nice person!) and Tom our salesman came by to check it out and Colton came up with a solution that worked really well.  Love Colton!  Warning here:  ask questions, assume nothing!  Fast forward to installing the drawers....the metal slides that the drawers require were measured wrong....too long!  So......another two week wait while new ones were ordered.  Of course during this time my kitchen drawer stuff was stored in boxes in the living room/dining room and deck.  Finally, everything is done and looks great!

Moral of the story:  Granite Transformations should stick with what they do best:  granite countertop overlays

They are in over their expertise in re-facing cabinets.  The owners NEVER, ever contacted me to apologize for the ordering errors and delays. I'm afraid that Bob doesn't really know what he is doing in measuring/ordering materials.   I contacted their office in late August to inquire about delivery of the two still missing drawers and the only response I got was from Bob's wife who asked me "Didn't Tom call you?"  Shoving it off on someone else. (Tom is their designer/salesman who was wonderful to work with and I am sure quite embarrassed and frustrated with what occurred)   I'm sure she knew who I was by then but never took any responsibility for the delays.  So between the shoddy customer care from the owners, the lack of skill in ordering materials, and the lack of quality control in the wood product, I would suggest anyone reading this look elsewhere for cabinet re-facing.

On the positive side, they do hire wonderful people to work for them.  I wonder how long they will keep them?

UPDATE:  Oct. 28    Have still not received the letter of apology the Provided indicated was on it's way.....Just sayin'......

Response from Granite Transformations
"Thank you, [member name removed]. Please accept our most sincere apologies for the disappointment and the inconvenience we caused due to the delays in your cabinet project. We are truly sorry. We are grateful for your business, we are grateful for your patience with us, and we are grateful for your feedback. Although it will not "make up" for our mis-steps, we have sent an apology via mail. You should receive it in just a few days. Anytime we get feedback expressing concern, we strive to 1) immediately address the issue, 2) review the process that broke down or did not meet the customer's expectation, 3) improve the process, and 4) retrain our staff and owners on how we could have not only met your expectation but delighted you. We have reviewed the steps in your project, identified several steps that were missed or needed improved. And we have made changes so the excessive delays don't happen again. We are so glad that you are very happy with the final outcome for both your counters and cabinets. We are so glad you love the installers and the designer you worked with, we love them, too! Your feedback will help us to improve. Again, we are sorry -- and thank you."

The new granite countertops are beautiful, even more so than we'd hoped.  This is an excellent product, installed by a remarkable local franchise, the Mukilteo franchise of Granite Transformations.

As good as the product itself happens to be, the customer service of this office is even better.  Our project evolved from one in which we'd intended to have the new countertops installed over the old ones to a much larger project in which entirely new cabinets were installed in the kitchen with a new underlayment for the Granite Transformations product.  Because the leak under the kitchen floor which forced us to consider the whole kitchen project was far more extensive than anticipated, we had to have all of the old cabinets removed to allow the floor to be repaired.  That led to the decision to replace the old cabinets, rather than try to re-install them.

Even though one of the major selling points of Granite Transformations is that the product can be installed over existing countertops, we chose to stick with GT on our entirely new cabinets because of the strength of the product and the lower maintenance demands compared to slab granite.  We have learned that we are far from alone in choosing GT for installation on new cabinets.

The change in our plans to remodel the kitchen rather than simply do a cosmetic upgrade demonstrated the superb customer service focus of this office.  Even though they had scheduled the original installation and had booked the dates, they demonstrated a degree of flexibility for which we will be forever grateful in amiably working with us on short notice to reschedule to about six weeks later when the new cabinets had been installed and were ready for the lovely granite countertops.

The quality of the work, from the design expertise of the initial consultation, to the extreme precision of the creation of the template for the cutting of the stone, to the meticulous attention to detail in the final installation, was of the highest order.  Folks, this ain't your Big Box store approach to a project by any means!

We would recommend this great local company without reservation, both for their product and for their expertise and customer focus.

Very courteous and knowledgeable sales person and installers. Came one day to measure and 2 days later to install. Arrived on time, worked efficiently, covered areas to keep area clean and cleaned up after the job. Eric and Jeremy were very accommodating to our needs. A visit to their showroom helped us confirm what color and type of sink we wanted.  They had a handyman remove our old and install new sink and stove. This was part of a larger kitchen renovation. I would highly recommend them.

I had a contractor prep the area and Granite Transformations came in and took a template of the area and installe the countertop a few days later.  They did an excellent job in every way.
Afterwards they sent me a cookbook as a thank you gift.

Very impressed with the help we received in selecting the right color for our kitchen.  Everyone arrived exactly on time and they finished early.  The process was quick, painless and I love the way it turned out.  The only negative was when I asked about the removal of the sink and cook top, I was told it would be taken care of so I assumed it was included in the bid.  It wasn't, but I'm still very happy and having the sub-contractor take care of the sink, plumbing and stove was well worth the additional cost.
liked the end result so much that I'm looking over my old tired bathrooms.  Maybe next years income tax return.

Granite Transformations truly transformed our very out-of-date kitchen into one that is now receiving rave reviews from friends
and family.  We had a rather large project, and everything was installed in a day-and-a-half?with very little disruption and NO demolition.  The quality of the product and workmanship is excellent.
Everybody at Granite Transformations was very pleasant and helpful to work with.  We visited the showroom in Mukilteo and were sent home with some nice sized samples to consider before we received an estimate.  When Tom came out to do the estimate, he answered all of our questions and offered some excellent suggestions. There was no pressure or hard-sell. Once we signed the contract, we were quickly scheduled to have the templates made and for the installation. Our installers were also a pleasure, worked very hard, and completely cleaned up after they were done working. The counters and back-splash are beautiful, with virtually invisible seams.  Bob, the owner, made the custom templates, and he was very friendly, as well. We found everybody at Granite Transformations to be honest and professional.
We are very happy with our experience with Granite Transformations, from start to finish, and wouldn?t hesitate to use them again for
future updating projects.

The project went well.  We are pleased with the outcome. We had the salesman come to the home initially for the estimate and to pick out colors.  We didn't find exactly what we wanted in the samples he brought, and were told we could come to the show room and custom pick our tile color combinations for the back splash.  That meeting went well.  The template fitting and prep work were fine. The actual installation was well done.  Workers arrived on time, were polite, answered our questions and cleaned up after themselves.
My only negative comment is that there was a small section of loose tile that we reported the day after the final installation.  Appointments to have it assessed and repaired were made three times.  Twice there was a miscommunication within the company.  We were given a day and time, and no one showed up.  By the third time we were calling the company to confirm  the day before and the day of the appointment.  We are retired, and it was just an minor inconvenience for us to stay home all day waiting for the repair.  Had we been still working, and had to leave work or rearrange schedules, I would not have been happy at all.  As it was, I was just mildly annoyed.  I would recommend that if you choose to use this company, be sure to confirm all appointments in advance, and jot down the name of the person you speak with.
Overall, we are very pleased with the way the kitchen turned out.  We have received many compliments.  I would use this company again.

The work turned out great.  It was a little bit less expensive.  They use recycled granite and they also use recycled glass.  It’s a small business.  The owner actually came out and did all the measuring, gave us the bid and he was great.  The installation went fine.  They guarantee their product.  If it chips or anything, they’ll come out and fix it.  That’s what happened and they came right out to take care of it.  If anybody wants to redo the kitchen with a limited budget and if they want to use this kind of granite, it’s worth giving them a try.  This granite is an alternative for people.  It’s easy to do and it’s half the cost.  I would use their services again in the future.

Tom Greenwood was our contact person and took very good care to insure we were well informed in all aspects of the project and products available. Scheduling, prep and installation all went very smoothly and everyone involved treated us and our project with respect and professionalism. Only "out-of-service" experienced was no water use in the kitchen and bathroom sinks for one night (spare bathroom sink was still available!). Final product and installation proved to be better than we expected and we would definitely recommend Granite Transformations to anyone.

The owner came to our house one week and spent about 1 1/2 hours making a custom template. A handyman arrived six days later to disconnect the plumbing of our old sink. Installers arrived the next day to install the new counters directly over our old laminate, followed the next day by the handyman to install our new sink and reinstall the disposal and Insta-hot water. Our only inconvenience was going two nights without use of water in a kitchen sink -- a minor inconvenience when compared to installing slab granite where I was told every counter had to be ripped out and they wanted to "see the silverware in the drawers" which would have been a massive disruption!
Response from Granite Transformations
"Thank you, [member name removed]! We appreciate your business, your kind words, and getting to meet you! You pointed out one of the great features of the Granite Transformations process is the ability to permanently bond the new countertops to the existing. - the existing counters do not go to landfill (earth-friendly) - the "earth footprint" from the quarry is smaller (earth-friendly) - there is no demolition, (way) less mess, and much, much less disruption to your home (HOME and FAMILY FRIENDLY), - the entire process takes about 48 hours - the installation about one work day! (HOME and FAMILY FRIENDLY) Thank you for highlighting those features - we are proud of them, too! It was truly our pleasure to work with you!"

I actually had a question on how to clean the sink they installed last year so I went to their site and noted they now do mosiac backsplashes too. I sent an email about the cleaning and Cindy called me right away with an answer. I inquired about the backsplash, it sounded good so she came out with samples and worked up an estimate. I wasn't sure about the sample so I called her and inquired about a larger one, and they cut me a piece. It looked great so we went ahead and had the work done. It looks really really good. With my new countertops, backsplash, appliances and updated cabinet hardware it looks like I spent tens of thousands of dollars in updates...and I didn't.

Stopped by the showroom, took samples and got general idea of price, made appointment for consultation/measurements to be made and get exact quote, found out front edge and backsplash was extra cost but still reasonable, called later that day and made appointment for template to be made, each appointment was very prompt and the time from browsing the store to the actual install only took about 10 days.
