"Erik was a pleasure to work with and I would not hesitate to use him again or to recommend him to others. Erik was very professional, working the schedule we'd agreed to and constantly keeping us updated on his progress. He was very meticulous about his work and went "above and beyond" to make sure the project looked fantastic and met our needs and our vision for the project. Each day, he thoroughly cleaned up after work was completed and he made sure all exposed soils were stabilized and covered. He also always used plywood and tarps to protect our driveway and property, so that none of our premises were damaged in any way. He replaced and re-cut several wall blocks when he felt they didn't look as good as they should. We greatly appreciated Erik's hard work, constant attention to detail, and desire and effort to make the project look beautiful. We are very pleased with the end result."

"Sione's crew worked a very full and long day to carve out a new driveway plus sidewalk. First, a tree needed to be removed and then some landscaping. Once that was done, the driveway work could begin. After assessing that the crew knew exactly what I wanted, I felt confident that I could leave them to do their work. When I returned, the driveway and sidewalk were almost finished. Some minor work needed to be finished the following day. By the time I got home on the second day, all was finished and the job site was clean and tidy. Sione and his crew were very friendly, professional and considerate of my time as well and disturbing my neighbors. A follow up visit from Sione was a pleasant and very much appreciated surprise.

Aquarium Services questions, answered by experts

We’ve explained how deep-rooted plants can damage a septic tank from the outside, but plenty of things can ruin it from the inside, too. For example, flushing bulky items (like paper towels, diapers, and wipes) can clog your septic tank. Cooking oil, grease, and household chemicals can also harm your system. And since a new septic system costs between $3,460 and $11,450, it’s worth following these guidelines.

Some companies offer concrete pumping for hard-to-reach areas at an additional cost.

Baking soda can help neutralize septic tank odors. If the pH balance in your tank is off, it may emit a sulfurous, rotten-egg-like smell. Flushing about one cup of baking soda down the toilet once a week can help neutralize the odor. To increase the beneficial bacteria in your tank, you can add three rotten tomatoes through your garbage disposal every three months.

To prevent odors in the first place, only flush human waste and toilet paper. Avoid pouring coffee grounds, fats, oils, or grease down your drains, as this can lead to clogs. While these methods can help, the most effective long-term solution is to have your septic tank pumped regularly, typically every three to five years. Because sewage gas can be toxic, it is recommended to hire a professional to identify the source of the smell rather than only trying to neutralize it.

Several things can ruin a septic tank over time, including dumping harsh chemicals (like bleach and ammonia), pesticides, and paint thinners down your drain because they can kill the bacteria in your septic tank. You should also make sure to only flush waste and toilet paper in your toilet—otherwise, you could clog your system.

Common problems include clogs, leaks, and drain field failures. Regular maintenance helps prevent major issues.
