Today, Michael Mohr of their concrete/masonry division, came out to cut a hole in the brick of the house for the install of a crawl space entry door. "Due to the structure of the deck a prefab door would not work for this. They used pressure treated lumber to make covers for both accesses that can be easily removed if needed but are secure to prevent animals getting in now. They replaced two sections of duct that was damaged. I have used Crawl Masters on a few other jobs and have found them to be prompt, professional and reasonably priced. They have always done a excellent job and I recommend them for anything needed for under the house"

Drilling into brick doesn’t have to be a dangerous project if you prep and approach it with the right tools and techniques, but it does come with risks if it’s not done correctly. You could create some initial holes or cracks in the rock, then pour water into the cracks or holes and allow them to freeze (so it's best to do this in winter or in colder climates). Since water expands when it freezes, this puts pressure on the inside of the rock and causes it to crack. You could continue to pour more water in and let it freeze to continue to break up the rock.
