"We found wires run on the surface of drywall after the inspection. We found unsealed walls that attached to the garage, where carbon monoxide would come in and we found water damage that, was obvious when viewed on the surface. The property is a 5000 sq foot house, so maybe he was overwhelmed. It is my opinion that Adam is what's wrong with the home inspection industry and we would absolutely not work with him again. "I carefully read and compared company reviews and have had several home inspections over the years, so I expected a quality inspection from HomeKey but even going into it with high expectations I was still surprised and impressed with the thoroughness and conscientiousness of the inspection. My inspector was Mike, and the home is an older one owned by an elderly person so there were many issues to evaluate. The inspection took much longer than the average amount of time and the report was much longer and required much more work to produce, but there wasn't the slightest hint of rushing any of it or skimping at all. I myself suggested the roof could be skipped because I was worried moss had made it slippery and figured it was surely pretty much gone anyway, but Mike bravely went up there, made sure it was safe, then took a good long while in the heat and returned with photos and an issue that requires immediate attention. Likewise, I was surprised at the willingness to enter a very cramped dirt floor crawl space and proceed around the entire foundation... out of sight into the nether reaches... but I have photographic proof! Those are just two examples out of many, but from under the floors to over the ceilings in attic spaces accessible only through ceiling hatches, Mike examined every detail, took photos, and carefully documented the entire process which resulted in a long, thorough and informative report that will make the purchase decision better informed and provide structure for repair decisions. The price of the service was pretty much the going rate, and thus reasonable. I don't see much spread in the pricing of home inspections across companies, so I would feel cautious of any company that deviated by much. The difference in value for your cost would then be the quality of the inspection. Honestly, the cost of HomeKey's inspection could have been higher and would still have been well worth it for the care, time spent, the information provided, and for the assurance having a trained eye on things can give you."

"I claimed one of the “2 Toilet Tune-Up” Angi’s special with 4 Service Pros (Snell). When I contacted Snell I talked with a very nice lady who scheduled me to get 2 plumbers to come out the next day from Noon - 4pm. I was told they would call 20 minutes to 30 minutes before hand to let me know they were coming. I waited from Noon to 4:05pm, never received a phone call, and so I called Snell to find out if my plumbers were still coming. I was told that there was an emergency situation in Chantilly, VA, that required my 2 plumbers to go to Chantilly instead of my place that morning. I understand emergencies do happen, but Snell knew that my plumbers were needed for that major Chantilly, VA, leak from the morning. They should have called me once they found out that my assigned plumbers would not be able to come out to my place within my scheduled time appointment. I should not have had to wait from noon to 4pm and then have to call them to find out that they were not coming. I rescheduled with them, and set another appointment for the next day The next day Brandon Thomas came out, and he was outstanding. He is very friendly, professional, knowledgeable, efficient, and a very good plumber. My problems turned out to be quite different than I originally had thought and he explained my options. I went with the option that he recommended and am very happy with the results. He also gave me discounts to help make-up for my inconvenience for having to re-schedule the appointment. I definitely recommend Snell (4 Service Pros) to all my friends and family."
