"I initially contacted José, as well as other contractors to finish the entire basement. During the estimate he was very thorough, you can tell he was very passionate and knowledgeable about his craft. He came up with great suggestions and detailed how he envisioned certain aspects. After researching, I decided the best route for me was to do some work myself and hire professionals for the big things. Since I really liked Munoz Construction from my previous estimate experience, I purchased the 'contractor for a week' deal (2 workers, 40 labor hours total) in order to complete the framing. Prior to the start of project, José came by, took measurements, walked me through the timeline and explained the materials needed. Upon the start of the project, José and his crew showed up right on time and carried the lumber from outside, down to the basement. Throughout the 'contractor for a week' deal (20 hours), the crew worked two 10 hour days. José came by a few times each day to check on things. After each day he walked me through what was completed and what was left. After the deal was completed (40 labor hours), 50% of the framing remained. I was quoted a fair price for the remaining work and the crew retuned the next day to finish the job. The last day, the crew, including José, worked hard for 11+ hours to get it done. Overall, I am very satisfied with the job Munoz Construction did. Particularly in the following areas: - In the half bath area, a waste pipe was awkwardly placed, blocking the door entrance. José brilliantly moved the pipe and framed around it. - The stars are pretty old and weak. José reinforced the stairs with lumber and now they are very sturdy. -The wall along the stairway. This is probably what makes José stand out from all contractors. He took 2X4 studs, crafted an amazing wall frame (the wall slopes along the stars). Every contractor and inspector that came by, complemented his work. The building inspector passed the framing with no issues. The crew did an excellent job and worked very hard. I don't think I was the best customer, as I could of praised their work more. José and his crew are very honest and highly skilled, I would gladly hire them again."

"VKB far exceeded out expectations for our new kitchen design and installation; as well as, the resurfacing and stain/varnish to my existing floors and stairs. My wife and I are very pleased with the final outcome. Money was well spent. Base on our experience, I would not hesitate to recommend their services again. Jack and Suzanne McClinton."

"We hired All Renovations to remodel our basement and add a bathroom. We had previously hired them to build a garage and had been pleased with the work they did so included them when we were interviewing potential candidates for our basement project. Their price was not the cheapest but not the most expensive either. Given our prior experience with them, we decided to hire them and are glad we did so. Despite some unexpected plumbing issues and resulting delays, All Renovations did a fabulous job on our basement and we are pleased with the end result. The foreman Edwin was easy to communicate with and worked with our designer throughout the project. It took a while to determine the best location and layout for the bathroom but Edwin worked with us to frame it in according to our specifications. As with most projects, there were a few issues (some missing fixtures and a problem with carpet installation) but they were resolved quickly and to our satisfaction. All in all, we are very happy with the work All Renovations did. The basement looks great."

"The contractor did a beautiful job with a somewhat complex installation of crown molding in basement to cover some electrical -- it required him to work around windows and tiny corners. it looks amazing."

"Jeff Thompson was a life saver for us. Our designer introduced us to him when we were searching for help after having another contractor completely ruin our kitchen, living and dining remodel project and losing a lots of money. Jeff came in to inspect the work, gather our requirements and then laid out a plan within our budget to fix the mess left behind by the other contractor and complete the job. He was very patient, understanding and most importantly honest with us about anything we asked regarding the project. His team was top notch working diligently to help complete the project within the timeline Jeff provided especially since the work was starting around November and completed in time to host my family for Christmas in December. I will be eternally grateful for Jeff and his team and the incredible work they did. We are extremely pleased with the results. They are the best!!"

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Make sure you’re getting the right size to meet your space needs, including enough space both side to side and vertically to accommodate your RV’s features and allow you to safely move it in and out of the garage.

If you’re building an attached and enclosed garage for your RV, you’ll also want to give some thought to whether you’d like to add workspace, water or electricity, or additional storage. If so, you’ll need a garage with larger dimensions.

There are several different steps in the pole barn building process. First, you’ll need construction plans, which you’ll use to obtain permits. Then, you can clear the land so it’s suitable for building and installing the foundation. Your contractor will frame the barn using large poles, then rough in the plumbing and electricity (if your barn has those elements) before finishing the interior, adding siding, and installing the roof.

After that, they’ll finish up the electrical work and plumbing and add your windows and doors. You may have a few other finishing jobs to do like painting or waterproofing.

Builder-grade is one of two types of stock cabinets, whereas semi-custom designs allow homeowners some control over the color, finish, or hardware on their cabinets. Stock cabinets are sold in construction-grade and builder-grade designs. Construction-grade cabinets are usually made from inexpensive medium-density fiberboard, which is prone to moisture damage, whereas builder-grade models are a step up with higher-quality materials. Construction-grade designs are the most common type of cabinets in America.

Designs typically take 2-6 months, depending on factoring, project size, and customization needs. Larger or more complex designs may require additional time for approval and revisions.

Depending on what the blueprints are for, a qualified draftsperson, contractor, or architect can draw them up. In some cases, including specialty permitting for a build, you may be required to use a licensed architect.

In many cases, a blueprint drawn up by a certified professional is required before a city or municipality approves a permit.
