American Home Contractors and Hugo in particular were great to work with. We had multiple jobs done which required several trips and Hugo kept us informed and worked around several weather delays. He relocated and installed a new attic fan, hooked up the bathroom fan to a new roof vent, insulated a pipe in the attic, installed apron flashing on four windows, painted the flue vent, reconnected some lose siding and replaced three pieces of rotted trim and painted it. The work appears to be top notch and we appreciate the hard work and long hours Hugo put in! I would definitely recommend this company and most certainly Hugo to everyone. We also had American Home Contractors replace our gutters and install gutter guards. They did an excellent job with that as well.

Omar was on time and very professional in cleaning the gutters. He had to use his hands for some of the work as the pine needles were hard to remove.

This is my second time working with American Home Contractors. First they completed my roof and this latest job was for a Tesla Wall Charger installation and electrical. I typically don't write reviews, but American Home Contractors went above and beyond on all fronts. HT was an excellent sales rep who knew the product, what was required and how to make it all come together to meet our needs. I'd give the team a 10 out of 10 if the system would allow. It was an excellent customer experience the whole way through built on knowledgeable, helpful staff and the attention to quality work. Definitely above and beyond most contractor experiences out there. I've already begun to recommend them to friends and neighbors after doing a lot of prior research on other service providers. This company is excellent. I have a contract with them for two visits per year. Today was the roof/gutter check-up/cleaning. Hugo Calderon came out (he was the first technician who came when I started my contract with the company). He called before arriving; arrived early! and did a great job. They always take pictures to show what they saw/did and it helps since I'm not going to get up on the roof myself! I definitely recommend the company

Melvin did an outstanding job from the moment he arrived. He explained everything he would check/repair, then quickly went your the ladder and began. When finished, he used many pictures to show exactly what he had done and a minor issue which should be remedied in the near future. He even provided an estimate, at my request.

Great! Just wanted to give a shout-out to American Home Contractors for their detailed roof inspection. (Their technician, Hugo, walked on the roof, took lots of photos, and also inspected the attic from the inside.) I've used this business twice now for annual roof inspections; at my previous inspection, they also replaced several missing shingles. They charge $199.00 for their service. It's a refreshing change from the unethical "free roof inspection solicitors" who knock on the door nearly every week wanting to convince me that I need a new roof *now* and that they can get insurance to pay for most of it. I highly recommend calling American Home Contractors instead.

I had many issues with AMC-V (American Home Contractors of Virginia). The main issue I'm was having with the company is they did not going all the way with the underlayment to the ice and water shield. There's a small roof section above my windows that I had a view of from out my window from the 3rd level and saw this issue. After seeing this type of workmanship, I'm not certain they have crews that do quality work. first of all on the day of the roof installation, which was May 1, 2023, they were 5 hours late. It was misting that day when installing the roof. I was told it's not good to install a roof on a day that has rain due to moisture getting trapped in the roof. Therefore, I am concerned about the longevity of the roof as well as if the roof was installed properly. The whole reason I went with this company is due to being told I would be informed throughout the entire process. I was told I would have access to seeing what all was being done via pictures as well of the process. That was like pulling teeth to get them to send me all the pictures. They also did not keep me updated at all thrift the entire process and was not informed they would be replacing 6 boards. I voiced my concerns to the project manager and said he was body with other upcoming jobs but he let me know when he could fit me in. I never heard from him until i started sending out emails to everyone and trying ti reach higher ups. He then inform me they wanted to do the work that past Saturday (6 days later) and his crew was here ready to work. He said they rang the doorbell but no-one answered. Well, no one called to inform me of any of this and via the ring camera, it was just the project manager there and he was taking pictures of the house. There was no roofing crew present. I've tried discussing via text and email as well as I tried calling many times asking to talk to a higher up of AHC. Every time I was promised someone would call me back in a few hours. They did not happen until I called and let them know I've filled with the BBB and contacted DPOR before they would return my call. I asked for 4 of the shingle packs to be replaced due to the damaged edges that were damaged upon delivery, which all were agreed upon. Only 2 of those were replaced. Four new ones were brought back to my home. However, when those 4 were dropped off, he only took 2 away (they were separate from the others). He left 2 of the damaged packs, I’m assuming because they didn't separate those with the other 2 damaged ones. After watching and reviewing the video, I believe they used those 2 damaged packets on my roof because I saw them go up on the roof. They have completely ignored this issue and wouldn't address it. If the job was looked over by the project manager properly, these things could possibly have been avoided? However, he was only here once for a short time but was on the phone in front of my neighbor’s house not even looking at the work that was being done on our house. I’m not even sure why he came by because it didn’t seem to be using that time to check on my roof process. He did come back as they were wrapping up for a short time. So basically, he wasn’t here during the process. The higher up assured me the crew would be back out on the 11th and would completely redo the small roof since I had proof they did incorrectly. We'll on the 11th a guy shows up and all that was done was a few shingles were pulled off and then he lifted up the other shingles and slide the underlayment underneath those and pushed the already shingles down. He then put new shingles over existing shingles. I had to contact the higher up again and have them remove everything and start all over. I honestly wouldn't hire this company unless you want to sit there and watch them every step of the way. Thankfully I was home during the process and was able to see that small piece of roof. I'm still not confident they did the big main roof correctly. They like to cut corners, literally ALSO WE'VE MANAGED TO GET 2 NAILS IN OUR TIRES DUE TO NAILS LEFT BEHIND!

When i listed my job on Angi, American Home Contractors of VA was the first company to call. The rep quickly gave me a quote for gutter cleaning and it was a very reasonable rate. I knew I had a clogged gutter and needed someone soon. I got an appointment for the following week but they called me back later after another appointment canceled. I was able to take the sooner appointment and everything went very well. The tech Melvin was prompt and got right to work. He took a ton of photos for me to see the condition of the gutters before and after cleaning. He cleaned up my deck from some fallen gutter debri and took an easy payment. Would definitely recommend this company.

I was very impressed with Hugo Calderon's professionalism and knowledge. He came to do a "roof tune-up" and found several issues that he was able to fix right away as part of the cost of the tune-up. He took extensive pictures inside my attic to show me where there were other problems which I will need to address. He was not condescending, but explained everything to me thoroughly. I will definitely be using this company to make the recommended repairs in the near future!

The roof and attic inspection service is a great value and Freddy Perez, the technician, was punctual, thorough, and very professional. Lots of photos and detailed explanation of what I was being shown. I will be following up with some recommended additional services based on his evaluation.

The team was quick. The team was clean. They worked with me to make sure I added the best insulation under the siding for my application. They put up a premium product that completely changed the look of the house. The big gutters with leaf guards and screens have been great. The added the additional downspouts where and how I wanted them. They were great to work with, and I'd do it again. I got 7 quotes, they weren't the cheapest, but they worked with me and I felt I could trust them to get the work done in an honest manner. They came through and made my house look great.

If you want anything other than roofing work, run as fast as you can away from this company. They are completely inept. They use subcontractors for other work like doors etc. with no oversight on what the subcontractors are doing and then the actual company won’t even follow up to see if all work was satisfactory. They take zero responsibility for their mistakes. We have been in the process of getting new doors for over a year. They messed up multiple things to include a huge one…THE SIZE OF OUR DOOR…how does that even happen??? They had to reorder, and here we are today, they still have not completed our project. Also, there is ZERO communication with the employees on the status of projects. I could go on and on but heed my words. Just don’t. There are plenty of great companies you can use like Windows on Washington etc.
