"We hired Sixpenny because we needed an urgent cleaning done on our newly purchased house after burning one fire and they said they could be at our house within 2 days, but only provided a 4 hour time window (12pm-4pm), requiring me to take the day off of work and stay home. The day comes with gusty winds which slowed down all of their appointments that day. This would not have been a major problem in itself if the company communicated that to me proactively, but by 3pm I called to confirm we were still on the list to be cleaned. By 4pm I called and was informed that the cleaner was on his way, at 4:30 I called again was told he was still on his way but no known estimated arrival time. Finally arrived shortly after 5pm, rushed through the cleaning as quick as he could, wasn't really able to answer any questions about how to reduce the fireplace smell in the house, from the concrete slab or from the hardwood floors and left in less than an hour. I understand he had a long day and was slowed by the weather, but the lack of proactive communication to keep us in the loop, as well as the limited knowledge either possessed or shared, is why I rated this company lower."

"Wow! Amazing service. I must've called 8 different places in a panic trying to get the brick mounts which hold the mantel removed from my old fireplace so the surface could be prepped for a new TV. Seemed like an easy task (I thought), but it was a little more meticulous than I thought. I called this team and they arrived same day! Incredible customer service and expertise. Not only did they return the day after providing an estimate and remove the brick mounts, they actually re-fabricated the brick to make the holes disappear! This team knows their stuff!! I was so impressed that in the Spring I'd like them to come and do some masonry work for me. Highly recommend. "I previously used this company to install a gas fireplace log system and had an outstanding experience. So I am surprised about my experience thus far as it seems out of character. About 3 weeks ago I called and set up an appointment for a gas fireplace servicing. I was given a date and a 2 hour window. We waited and nobody ever showed. I since have called twice and got voicemail. I have not received a return phone call. My experience was so positive the first time I'd welcome to use them again, and am sending up this review in the hopes it can spur contact."

"In May 2018, Ashmaster's rebuilt the top of the fireplace chimney and installed a stainless steel flue liner for the wood stove insert. Work was done professionally, on time, and on budget. This year (May 2019), Ashmaster's inspected the work and they were just as courteous, friendly, and professional as before."

"Problems with the chimney tiles were identified during the chimney cleaning.  They estimated the cost of the repairs and returned a few weeks later to fix the problems.  I don't know enough about chimneys to comment on whether they did a good job, but it appears to be fixed and they offered a 2-year warranty on the work performed.  
I was disappointed with the clean-up after the work.  They unhooked a garden hose to get water and did not re-attach it.  There was an attempt to clean the area in front of the fireplace, but it wasn't thorough.  Both minor offenses, but worth noting.
