"The installers were courteous, meticulous, asked our opinion, neat and put up 45 tiles with plenty of cuts in about 6 hours. This was a herringbone pattern of glass tile. We have not found a chipped piece anywhere. We highly recommend them!"

"Joshua did a great job installing a porch railing, replacing rotten wood on deck and building a structure that I can hang porch swing from. I will definitely hire Joshua again."

"Salesperson was nice, installation manager worked to correct misunderstanding with order. Just found a large hole in my laundry room drywall behind the dryer. Suspect it might have been done while installation was taking place, since the edges have been covered with black electrical tape, that wouldn't have happened by one of the grandkids or dogs. Not angry just disappointed, accidents happen, but tell the customer, don't hide them."

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

Options include clay, concrete, and slate tiles. Each offers unique durability, aesthetics, and costs.

On average, tiling a shower costs between $1,800 and $5,000, with most people paying around $2,700. The price of this project depends on multiple factors, including the kind of tile you choose, the size of your shower, and labor rates in your area. If you decide to tile your own shower (instead of hiring a professional), it’ll likely cost $800 to $1,400.

Replacing tile flooring can take a few days for a pro, but larger rooms will need more time. It takes eight to 12 hours for a tiling pro to remove old grout and tiles across 100 square feet. Then, it will take about four hours to prep the subfloor for tiles and another eight to 10 hours for a pro to install new tiles. Your tiling project may take up to a week, depending on the size of the room.

The best trowel for penny tile is a 3/16-inch-by-5/32-inch V-notch trowel. Because of the small size of the penny tile, you want a trowel with small notches that can lay a thin layer of mortar on the surface you’re tiling. If the notches are too wide, you risk applying too thick of a layer of mortar, and it can squeeze out between the penny tiles.

The number of boxes of tile you need depends entirely on the amount of tile in each box or case. Different manufacturers package their tiles differently, and boxes contain different amounts of tile depending on the size, shape, and material. Often, the amount of area that a case will cover is listed in the product description. To calculate the number of boxes you need, take the total square feet of the space and divide it by the number of square feet the box will cover.
