"NEVER AGAIN! When our old thermostat died, I hired ACE to replace it. A young fellow installed a thermostat which I later learned was WiFi driven (in case I needed to call my thermostat from France). After struggling with it unsuccessfully for several weeks, I called the owner and told him I needed a simple thermostat that I could program and forget. He installed a Honeywell T4 Pro. He actually told us that he had advised his worker NOT to use such complicated devices, but he charged us an additional $350 (device + labor). The user’s guide on the T4 was quite simple and I followed the half-page instructions for setting the program. We were away travelling for a while, but when we returned I noticed that the thermostat was not following the program. It was doing erratic things. I reset it. No dice. In case I was missing something, my wife also reset it. No dice. She called the owner and explained our problem. He curtly told her we were setting it wrong (very very very hard to do). When she insisted that the program was entered correctly, he offered no help and HUNG UP ON HER. Subsequent to this, I went to the Honeywell website and scoured their videos. I discovered that ANY program that I entered was meaningless unless the unit was INSTALLED to follow a program (a setting during installation). I downloaded installation instructions and I will be making the necessary corrections. The owner could have suggested this. Instead he chose to insult my wife. Good business sense."
