"Dennis R. has taken the time to do my HVAC system. It's clear that he care about his work and take the time to do it correctly. I especially liked that he advised me that my HVAC was pretty old and it was still using R-22 refrigerant. Time for an upgrade."

"I could not have been more pleased with the service that the technician, Tim, provided, today. He was thorough, did a detailed analysis and cleaning of our HVAC unit. Not only that, the owner personally contacted me once the job is complete and is actually going above and beyond in the follow up care of our unit. as a business owner, myself, I know the value of Customer Service and Mike Hayes and his team of professionals have provided what I would call #GameChangingService Definitely recommend them to anyone who asks and I plan on writing a positive review about them on multiple platforms"

"I recently returned from a trip to find my heat pump was not working and my house was 50 degrees. It was late so I looked online to search for an HVAC repair service. I am extremely glad I found Galactic Air Inc. I filled out an online service request form and the next morning I got a call. The technician told me when he could get to my house and showed up just as he told me. He was pleasant, courteous, and professional. He found the problem within a few minutes. The connection box in my attic had burned up. I was very lucky my house did not catch fire while I was gone. He repaired the connection box and checked out the rest of my system while he was there. My heat pump is working great now. The price was very reasonable for the work he did. I am 100% satisfied and plan to get the maintenance plan from Galactic Air Inc. to keep my system running well. I highly recommend Galactic Air to anyone looking for a good, professional, and reasonably priced HVAC service."

"I am very satisfied with the work done by Worley’s. I had a new HVAC system installed to replace an 18 year old system that had quit working. The price was competitive but the warranty and included maintenance sold me. The technicians that came to install my system were punctual, polite and efficient. It did take a little longer than expected due to some material issues but I was kept informed of the progress and delays throughout the process and I appreciated the attention to detail rather than rushing the job. Overall, this was a very smooth and easy process and I would absolutely recommend them for your HVAC needs."

"I don't trust anyone else to service and repair my hvac units. TWICE another well known company misdiagnosed the problem completely. We called PLE, and not only did they accurately identify the problem, they were half the price. We fired the other guys. I won't ever call anyone else. Honest company, responsive and professional. Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Yes, it’s important to turn off your AC sometimes to give it a break and prevent it from freezing up. If your AC runs all the time, your system’s parts will wear down quicker, which may mean that you need to replace it sooner. Plus, using your AC constantly uses more electricity and leads to higher energy bills.

Your central A/C unit should be professionally serviced and inspected at least once a year to ensure it operates properly and efficiently. This is best done before the peak cooling season. A full-service inspection by a qualified pro will typically include checking safety components for issues like carbon monoxide leaks, verifying cooling components and coolant levels, and inspecting electrical parts like fuses and wiring. Regular servicing enhances efficiency, mitigates potential problems, and maintains optimal performance. Because AC systems contain hazardous refrigerant, professional handling is essential.

While an air conditioner can temporarily run with a dirty filter, it is not recommended as it will not work efficiently. A dirty filter forces the system to work harder to circulate cool air, leading to reduced airflow, increased wear and tear, and higher energy bills. This added strain can cause the air conditioner to overheat or fail prematurely. Furthermore, a clogged filter may allow dust and dirt to accumulate in your ductwork, negatively impacting air quality. It is more cost-effective to clean or replace filters regularly than to pay higher utility bills and risk needing to replace the entire AC unit.

The cost to repair an air conditioner averages around $350 to $450, but the price can range from $100 to over $3,000. The final cost depends on the type of air conditioner, the extent of the damage, and the specific parts that need replacement. For example, repairing a window AC unit typically costs between $100 and $250, while central air conditioner repairs can range from $300 to $3,000. A simple fix like replacing a dirty filter might only cost $10 to $50, but a major issue like a broken compressor could cost around $2,000 or more, potentially making it more cost-effective to replace the entire system. Due to the need for specialty tools and handling of refrigerants, repairs more complex than changing a filter are best left to a professional.

Many factors affect how much adding air conditioning will cost you, from the size of your home to the size, type, brand, and installation specifics of the system itself. Chances are, a new central air conditioning system for a 2,000-square-foot house will cost somewhere between $3,900 and $7,900 to install, with an average around $6,000
