"Fox Trail Electric is a pleasure to work with. I’ve used this company for small jobs such as replacing outlets to bigger jobs of installing a new electrical box and running electric outlets outside. They consistently complete jobs in a timely manner and always clean the area when finished."

"I hired Atlas Electrical Solutions to run a cable from the third floor to the second floor. Youssef was highly professional and discussed the details of the project thoroughly before confirming. He was punctual, and incredibly detail oriented throughout the project. He was also very friendly and courteous. I'd highly recommend Atlas Electrical Solutions!"

"I needed a dedicated 20amp circuit and outside outlet installed to my patio. Maitiai arrived on time, was friendly/professional, and completed the agreed upon work. He filed for the appropriate permit with the City of Frederick, and helped schedule the inspection which passed without issue. I would have no hesitation contracting with him again in the future."

"Tony came out and gave us 3 estimates for 3 different generators. We chose the Cummins Onan because it suited our needs and provided the quietest operating generator. It also was the highest rated out of the 3. Tony and Marshall dug out a place to set the concrete pad which the generator is placed on.The digging was done neatly. Tony and Marshall then did all the installation of the electrical work. Steve Mays then came and did all the necessary work for the gas lines run and then connected to the generator. Steve worked in our crawlspace running the gas line form the gas meter on the south side of our house to the north side where the generator was located outside nearby our electrical box. Tony and Marshall came back to instruct us in the operation of the generator, which is basically you checking to make sure the green light is always on. Local inspectors gave a green light with the excellent work done. We will need to check the oil ever so often, but that is typically simple. Tony and Marshall and Steve all worked within the timeline which they had given us. They were very professional, caring, neat and extremely well informed about the generator. We had a lot of questions and they answered them all. We called them and they always picked up our calls. We could not have been more pleased with them. If you are looking for a home standby generator, these are the ONLY guys to get!"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

An electrician can handle wiring issues with the garage door opener, like faulty connections, circuit problems, or sensor malfunctions, but they’re not the right person to hire for mechanical repairs. Garage door specialists handle things like broken springs, tracks, and panels, while electricians step in if there’s an issue with power supply, motor function, or safety sensors that aren’t responding correctly.

Yes, electric fences need power to operate. They are powered by either a battery or an electrical outlet. In heavy snow or extreme rain, or if the power goes out, your electric fence might stop working. Knowing how to test an electric fence is important for figuring out if the fence is still functioning properly.

If you’re someone who likes to tinker around the house and make DIY repairs, a multimeter or voltmeter can be a great tool to have around, especially if you’re comfortable with electrical repairs. That said, if working with electricity feels out of your depth, you don’t need to invest in a multimeter. Reach out to an electrical pro for any electrical work you need done if any part of you is hesitant about a project.

A ground wire is not required for GFCI to work. A ground is a third wire in an outlet in addition to the live and neutral wires. It serves as an escape conduit for electricity in case of a short circuit. If a ground wire is present, installers should connect it to the appropriate terminal. Otherwise, a GFCI will work fine without it.

No, it’s extremely dangerous to cap off live electrical wires. Working with live wires puts you at serious risk of electric shock, which can cause injury or even be fatal. Whenever you need to cap off electrical wires or complete any electrical work in general, it’s essential to shut the power off at the breaker before you begin.
