"I couldn't have asked for a better experience. They were hired to replace the main electrical panel/breakers at my elderly mother's home. Roni, the electrician, was a wonderful communicator, and was very knowledgeable and thorough in completing the job and in putting her at ease. The price was very reasonable. I will be using Nasr Electric in my own home, as well as recommending them to all my friends and family in the DMV area."

"It was very easy to work with Joe to finalize a quote and get the job scheduled. Once onsite, Carlos and his colleague knew exactly what to do and how to run the new electric circuit across the house from the electrical panel to the garage. The installed the EV charger we had purchased separately exactly how we wanted it. Everything worked perfectly. They even went the extra mile to come back and patch the garage drywall where they had made a few holes to run the cable even though it was not included in the job initially. Overall very happy with both the price we paid and the quality of the work. Will hire again for any electrical work we'll need."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

In Herndon, you can safely reset tripped breakers, replace standard light bulbs, and test or reset GFCI outlets. Always shut off power at the breaker panel and verify with a voltage tester before touching any electrical component. Avoid addressing issues during damp weather, which is common in VA. For tasks like replacing outlets or addressing panel concerns, contact a qualified local electrician.

Helpful?

In Herndon, persistent flickering lights, frequent circuit breaker trips, or outlets that feel warm to the touch suggest underlying electrical issues. Discovering outdated wiring types, such as knob-and-tube or aluminum, or noticing missing junction box covers are red flags. If GFCI outlets fail to reset or you see evidence of unpermitted work, schedule an electrical inspection to ensure your system meets current safety standards.

Helpful?

In Herndon, recurring power surges, dimming or buzzing lights, and frequent tripped breakers can indicate a developing problem. Pay attention to outlets that spark, switches that feel loose, or visible corrosion on your electrical panel—these often precede major repairs. Homes built before 1980 may have aging wiring, making early intervention important to prevent costly electrical system failures.

Helpful?

After electrical work in Herndon, confirm all required inspections are completed and keep permits and project documentation organized. Test GFCI and AFCI outlets monthly to ensure proper function, especially with Herndon’s seasonal humidity. Clearly label your breaker panel for easy identification, and if you’ve upgraded service, notify your utility provider. These steps help maintain compliance and long-term electrical safety in your home.

Helpful?

Create a seasonal routine in Herndon by inspecting outdoor outlets and lighting each spring, testing GFCI outlets monthly, and checking air conditioning connections before summer. In fall, review heating system wiring and test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. During winter, watch for signs of ice damage and increased electrical load. For homes over 25 years old, schedule annual electrical inspections to catch issues early.
