"After searching for months to get a small tile installation I read reviews on Josh. They said he did good work and would take small or large jobs. I contacted him and he responded quickly. I needed 13 tiles replaced after a plumber had to bust up my my kitchen floor for a drainage problem. The tile was discontinued but Josh matched it as well as he could. He stayed late working on it then came back the next morning to finish up. My wife and I are very pleased with the work and with Josh. We highly recommend him."

"I am absolutely thrilled with my solid wood flooring and porcelain tile install to include removal and haul away of existing flooring. Leonard was extremely professional, and personable with great communication skills. He is now my go-to person for any future home repairs or renovations, and I am happy to recommend him to anyone looking for a skilled craftsperson who takes pride in his work. Again - I highly recommend!"

"Lots of discussion on how to prepare a screen enclosed aggrigate patio for porcelin tile and some back and forth on the price but in the end, the installer, John prevailed and prepared the aggrigate surface properly and did a fine job of installation. The workmanship was terrific and the problems with Whitehouse Floors and More were lack of experience in this type of prepartion. Overall, great job and very happy with end result"

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

When hiring a pro in Tyler for ceramic tile service projects, prioritize local experience. Look for contractors familiar with East Texas clay soil foundation issues and proper moisture barrier installation for our humid climate. Always verify references from recent Tyler-area projects and check their reputation. Be cautious of door-to-door solicitors, especially after major storms, and avoid contractors who request full payment upfront.

Helpful?

For minor issues with ceramic tile service projects in TX, you can safely make temporary fixes. Use a baking soda paste to clean mildew, which is common in our humid climate. A small grout crack can be sealed with clear caulk to prevent water intrusion. If a tile is loose, construction adhesive offers a temporary hold. Always address leaks immediately, as mold can grow within 48 hours.

Helpful?

Due to Tyler's high humidity, annual grout resealing is essential to prevent mold. Regular maintenance includes sweeping and weekly mopping with a pH-neutral cleaner. It's also wise to perform bi-annual inspections for any loose tiles or cracked grout, especially during the wet seasons in spring and fall. Proper ventilation helps manage moisture and protect your ceramic tile service project from damage.

Helpful?

In Tyler, a small bathroom floor takes about 3 to 5 days, while a large kitchen floor can take 5 to 7 days. Timelines for ceramic tile service projects can be extended by local factors. For example, Tyler’s frequent spring storms and high humidity can add 1 to 2 days for drying. Scheduling during the peak spring season might also add a few weeks to your start date.

Helpful?

A ceramic tile service project can impact several home systems in Tyler. For instance, new flooring height might affect door clearances. In bathrooms, electrical outlets require GFCI compliance due to humidity. During installation, your HVAC may need a temporary shutdown, which is a key consideration during hot summers. Also, watch for any changes in water pressure, particularly in Tyler’s older neighborhoods with aging plumbing systems.
