"Big Pete’s Welding came out to fix my wrought iron gate. One of the poles rusted and disintegrated near the bottom. He could have suggested to replace the whole pole but said it would be cheaper and just as sturdy if they cut out the bottom 6 inches and welded a new iron piece In it’s place. They came out did what the said, were very professional and cleaned up after. The wrought iron fence is as good as it was. Would definitely hire them again"

"Needed bottom rails and posts repaired/painted on a small section of wrought iron fence. Timely response and regular communication leading up to completion. Showed up on time and completed the work very quickly. Excellent pricing in comparison to other estimates received. Highly recommend."

"Hunter, Omar, and the installation crew did a fabulous job for us. Damage from Hurricane Beryl led to us replacing our wrought iron fence with galvanized steel. Hunter responded immediately to our call and was respectful of our time. We are very pleased with the end result-cost, quality, clean up, and final walk through were top notch."

"Kris and J came out to my house to install a custom aluminum privacy fence and gate for my back patio. Kris went the extra mile to weld the gate for extra support rather than generic DIY bolt on kits. This was a big necessity to help keep our big dogs contained and keep the gate here for the long haul."

"We love our wrought iron fence. It makes an older home look really nice and we don't have to worry about our dog (or other dogs) jumping the fence. Also, the package receiving area they created in front is so handy for receiving Amazon deliveries. The chain link fence they did in back and the wood fencing they did on one side of our property have both made our home more secure and more attractive. I would definitely hire them again."

"I thoroughly vetted this company. I had been needing to get this project done for quite a while. Their schedule and mine coordinated and so did the price. I'm a 1st responder and was given a discount. Darin found that out and gave it to me; I didn't ask for it. The job was done well & on time & for the price quoted. My neighbors liked the work enough they hired him to do theirs too. In fact, the HOA liked the work enough that they hired his company to do jobs on HOA owned property with wrought iron fences. Couldn't have been happier with all work done. I would use him again, but may not need to. The job came with a 20-year material and workmanship warranty."

Wrought Iron questions, answered by experts

Proper installation can make a big difference in your fence's maintenance needs. For example, wood fences that aren't installed correctly can be more likely to rot. While it's possible to DIY a fence installation, hiring a local fence company can mean much less work for you in the long run.

A professional fence installer will make sure your fence is positioned correctly and installed in a way that ensures longevity and limited upkeep requirements.

The depth of the fence posts depends on the height of your fence. If you’re installing a 6-foot fence, then digging 2-foot-deep holes for the fence posts will help ensure a secure installation. However, if you’re installing an 8-foot fence, the posts will need to be deeper than 2 feet to support the structure properly. Also, consider how far apart the fence posts should be to provide adequate support.

While many fence companies and fence material retailers refer to their metal fencing as wrought iron fencing, most of it is actually ornamental wrought iron fence. This means that the fence is made to look like traditional wrought iron but is actually made out of either steel or aluminum. Old wrought iron fences typically found at estate sales or on older properties are much heavier and much more prone to rust than the ornamental wrought iron that newer homes and fences use.

You can buy wrought iron fencing from a trusted fence installation company near you. You could also opt to buy it privately from a homeowner who is interested in recycling their own wrought iron materials. Manufacturers stopped mass production of wrought iron as steel became more affordable to produce, so you likely won't find it in any local big box stores.

Your dog might be able to slip underneath chewable, flexible fabric gate covers. When you have a wayward woofer, using wooden panels that come within an inch or two of the ground is the most secure option. You may need a metal defense barrier dug into the soil to keep your dog from digging under your fence or gate.
