"Redzone Pools was able to come out the same day my pool pump started giving me trouble. Darron was able to figure out what the problem was and fix it on the spot. Fair pricing. Seemed very knowledgeable. Will definitely contact in the future for any other pool equipment issues."

"Prompt service. Friendly technicians that know what they are doing. I have also had them help with some maintenance items such as pool light upgrade, timer replacement, and filter cleaning. Team has always taken great care of our pool. This is our third swim season with them. Ali and Jason are the best."

"Chuck is an excellent above ground SPA Technician. He knows the detail and will explain what it needs to be done. He is highly experienced. He is very friendly and he does the job because he cares for what he knows and how he can provide service. Very reasonable price and provide the detailed info what needs to be done. I do highly recommend Hi Tech SPA and utilizing Chuck's expertise if you have above ground SPA and needs repair or services. He comes to your house even if it is weekend which is very different than these high price pool service companies that they work 9 to 5 weekly. He came to my house on Sunday morning and he told me what I needed and provide price as well. He ordered the materials and installed when the materials came. Excellent work Chuck and appreciate your help. I highly recommend Hi Tech SPA and Chuck expertise."

Pool and Spa Servicing questions, answered by experts

Hot tub repair costs are less expensive than purchasing a new one, especially if your warranty is still intact. You can shop for a secondhand unit or find a deal for a trade-in. If the price to repair your hot tub is higher than the cost of a new one, consider replacing your unit.

No. In fact, some owners prefer to “summerize” their hot tubs and use them primarily over winter to enjoy the contrast of cold and hot water. It’s possible to keep the tub filled and running year-round, and some pros may even recommend this method compared to the work and risks of a full winterization every year.

However, keeping the hot tub running will require additional resources. You’ll use more power and more chemicals to keep it in good shape. Weigh the pros and cons of your situation before making a decision.

Yes, hot tubs can use a significant amount of electricity, primarily to keep the water heated. A typical hot tub uses between 1,500 and 6,000 watts, and the pump can add another 1,500 watts. This usage can result in a monthly cost of around $20 to $30. The exact amount of electricity consumed depends on several factors, including the hot tub's age, size, heater voltage (120V vs. 240V), usage habits, and thermostat setting. Newer, energy-efficient models generally use less power than older ones. To reduce electricity costs, consider investing in an energy-efficient model, using a quality insulated cover with a thermal blanket, and keeping the filters clean.

Vinegar can be used as an all-purpose cleaner for many things, including hot tub filters. Soaking hot tub filters in vinegar and water for up to 24 hours can remove dirt and oil, and as a bonus, it won’t cause the water to foam after you reinstall it if there’s vinegar left on it. But make sure you still rinse it to remove any debris, dirt, or grime stuck on it.

A compact unit designed for two to three people typically weighs approximately 500 pounds in its empty state. On the other hand, a larger hot tub meant for up to six people can weigh around 1,000 pounds when empty. Materials used also impact weight. Less expensive hot tubs are typically lighter because they are made of molded plastic or fiberglass.
