"Prompt service. Friendly technicians that know what they are doing. I have also had them help with some maintenance items such as pool light upgrade, timer replacement, and filter cleaning. "Chuck is an excellent above ground SPA Technician. He knows the detail and will explain what it needs to be done. He is highly experienced. He is very friendly and he does the job because he cares for what he knows and how he can provide service. Very reasonable price and provide the detailed info what needs to be done. I do highly recommend Hi Tech SPA and utilizing Chuck's expertise if you have above ground SPA and needs repair or services. He comes to your house even if it is weekend which is very different than these high price pool service companies that they work 9 to 5 weekly. He came to my house on Sunday morning and he told me what I needed and provide price as well. He ordered the materials and installed when the materials came. Excellent work Chuck and appreciate your help. I highly recommend Hi Tech SPA and Chuck expertise."

Pool and Spa Servicing questions, answered by experts

You should put chlorine in your hot tub on a regular basis. To keep bacteria away, keep the chlorine level in your hot tub at between 3-5 mg/l, which may mean you need to add chlorine daily or at least every two to three days. Don’t add chlorine to your hot tub water more than once per day.

If water is left inside the hot tub pump over a cold winter, it could freeze and severely damage the pump, water lines, and jets. That can cause leaks, which require very expensive repairs. Freezing or leftover water can stain and damage the hot tub shell, which leads to replacement. Even in mild climates, leaving sitting water in the tub or pipes for a long period of unuse is a bad idea, since disinfecting chemicals fade and the water can develop bacteria, algae, and other big headaches when it’s time to use the tub again.

In most cases, it is safe to clean a hot tub with vinegar. You will want to verify that your hot tub manufacturer lists vinegar as a safe cleaning product; however, given that vinegar is chemical-free, cleans, deodorizes, and is safe for people and pets, it is usually a good option. You can use vinegar to clean the hot tub shell, interior and exterior spa surfaces, hot tub jets, hot tub filter, and other parts. It is considered a strong, safe, and natural cleanser that can kill bacteria, remove mold and mildew spores, erase water spots, and remove hard water stains.

For a fully-foamed hot tub, freezing typically occurs when the temperature drops below 28 degrees Fahrenheit and remains at or below this level continuously for a minimum of 36 hours. If your hot tub and pumps are still operational, however, the water circulates, and this continuous movement helps prevent freezing, even in very cold conditions. This circulation, along with the insulation provided by the foam, helps maintain the water temperature and prevent it from freezing during extended cold periods. Still, if you’re not planning to run it regularly, be sure to winterize the hot tub properly to prevent damage from freezing.

No, you cannot clean your hot tub filters in the dishwasher. While it may seem like a good idea, the dishwasher soap isn’t gentle enough for hot tub filters and can damage them. Gentle cleaning is better when cleaning the hot tub filters and keeping them intact.
