"Bluebird pool service has been great! Keith has exceeded our expectations and always ensures our pool is sparkling clean when he is finished with the service. This is the 5th pool service I have hired in last 2 years and he is by far the best I have encountered. He has the necessary chemicals to balance your pool as well.....my prior service was "rationing" chlorine and would only add some every two weeks, or would throw pool shock in rather than supply the tabs. On the off chance that something comes up and he is unable to service my pool, he has been very good about communicating when he will be there to make up the service. Bluebird pool service has earned every one of these 5 stars and I would have no problem recommending him to friends and family."

"The best pool company I have dealt with. Fantastic customer service and work. Completely professional and trustworthy! Very rare to find these qualities in today’s world! They did an excellent job for a low, reasonable price! They replaced my board, pump and heater - something I knew I needed to do and put it off until it became almost an emergency. Everything was done very quickly and I love the new automation! I would highly recommend them!"

"Chuck is an excellent above ground SPA Technician. He knows the detail and will explain what it needs to be done. He is highly experienced. He is very friendly and he does the job because he cares for what he knows and how he can provide service. Very reasonable price and provide the detailed info what needs to be done. I do highly recommend Hi Tech SPA and utilizing Chuck's expertise if you have above ground SPA and needs repair or services. He comes to your house even if it is weekend which is very different than these high price pool service companies that they work 9 to 5 weekly. He came to my house on Sunday morning and he told me what I needed and provide price as well. He ordered the materials and installed when the materials came. Excellent work Chuck and appreciate your help. I highly recommend Hi Tech SPA and Chuck expertise."

"An unsolicited review of POOLIE pool services: I am not sure where I got the name of Poolie pool services, but what a find!!! This company was one of the best companies I have ever dealt with, the immediate response to any of my emails and/or messages, the quality of the work, the professionalism of all of the employees, the courtesy of their workers are all reasons that I felt compelled to write this review. Jason, great guy and took care of every single concern that I had. Justin, very good worker and would let me know every detail of what was going on Paul, just installed a new valve for me and was quick, efficient, and very courteous Poolie quoted the resurfacing of my in ground 22,000 pool as well as replacement of a bad skimmer and gave me the best price of all of the quotes, they did the work fast and efficient, cleaned up after every visit and maintained the pool even after the pool was complete and full of water to make sure all was as I wanted it. I rarely do reviews, in fact, this may be my first unsolicited one I have ever done, but this company has really proved to be a great find, hope you will consider them, I doubt you will be disappointed. Pool and Spa Servicing questions, answered by experts

A compact unit designed for two to three people typically weighs approximately 500 pounds in its empty state. On the other hand, a larger hot tub meant for up to six people can weigh around 1,000 pounds when empty. Materials used also impact weight. Less expensive hot tubs are typically lighter because they are made of molded plastic or fiberglass.

A hot tub cover's lifespan is typically between three and seven years, with an average of five to seven years for a well-maintained one. The quality of the cover is a major factor; lower-quality polyester or vinyl soft covers can tear easily with regular use.

To extend the life of your cover, proper maintenance is key. This includes:

  • Keeping the cover clean, dry, and out of the sun. Use a soft cloth and mild dish soap for cleaning.

  • Applying a vinyl protectant spray.

  • Cleaning the underside with a chlorine spray.

  • Using a cover lift to prevent damage from rough handling.

  • Protecting it from harsh weather.

  • Keeping children and pets off the cover.

Investing in a high-quality cover and checking for a warranty at the time of purchase can also contribute to its longevity.

Yes, but only if it is a freshwater tub (not saltwater) and if you make sure the chlorine and bromine levels are below 1 ppm.

Generally, it is more cost-effective and energy-efficient to leave your hot tub on all the time rather than turning it on and off. Reheating a hot tub from a cold temperature consumes a significant amount of energy, so maintaining a constant temperature is usually more economical, especially with frequent use.

For daily or weekly use, it's recommended to keep the water at a constant, reduced temperature, such as between 80 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit, and then increase it to your desired temperature before getting in. If you know you won't be using the hot tub for an extended period, you can lower the temperature to save on energy costs. However, if you use it very infrequently, you can turn it off completely, as long as there is no risk of the water freezing.

Yes. If you test the water and the alkalinity is too low, you can raise it by adding an alkalinity increaser, which likely came with your hot tub’s chemical kit. In a pinch, you can use baking soda to raise the hot tub’s alkalinity. Raising the alkalinity will prevent the hot tub water from becoming too acidic.
