"The project completed today: my tiny half-bathroom. Trivial? Perhaps. Several years ago, I decided to remove the two wall-mounted ceramic towel bars & the tooth-brush holder. Bulging out of the wall, heavy and gross, constantly bumping my elbows into those fixtures, I decided to take action. With hammer & a bevel edge, I removed them; leaving the surface rough and unattractive. That was 8 years ago. A-1 Such Services prepped the area and installed new replacement ceramic tiles. Everything looks new! Why did I wait so long?"

"We really enjoyed the experience with Jim and his crew. I have done a number of tile remodels in another state and have sone experience with this process. Jim really knows what he is doing and responded to my nit-picky concerns with interest and patience. We transformed a tub/shower alcove into a beautiful walk-in shower with a new bathroom floor. Our kitchen went from dark and drab to light and elegant. Every T was crossed and nothing left undone, all with a smile. Thanks, Jim!"

"Clyde was great. I needed cabinet installation, back splash installation, plumbing, electrical, ceiling repair and a few other small things. He was always prompt in his arrival and worked quickly to make this project happen quickly. The work was done well and was even complimented by countertop installation team with how perfectly level the cabinets were. I will definitely hire Clyde again for home improvement projects."

"He was very responsive, professional, nice, stuck to the estimate he gave me, helped me pick the colors of the tile, and went above and beyond for me with some other little things around the house. He is a fantastic young man, and I intend to refer him to everyone I know."

"When we purchased the house the bathroom was not only ugly, but had some severe mold smells. Me and my husband discussed calling several services. We found American Services of TN which was local and had fair pricing and we liked how the pictures look. They extended the bathroom and renovated it. I was shocked at how much better it looked and definitely smelled. When my parents came over they absolutely loved all the details in the tile work and the new stone tile shower and bathtub. Very, very happy and I will definitely use them again for any other jobs I need!"

"These guys are GREAT! I would highly recommend them. I had a big job and they completed the work on time and exactly as planned. There were no surprises and I felt like I got a great deal. They did such an amazing job that I feel like I have a whole new home. They were always on time, courteous, reliable, trust worthy, and they added a great deal of value to my home. I could go on and on about how wonderful this company is and I am a very picky customer! If you are considering a kitchen or bath remodel, please call Bret or Vickie and have them come out and give them a chance. I don't regret using them one bit and can't wait to start my next project with Granite Transformations of Nashville."

"I am a repeat customer of G&B which in itself should say a lot. I have used G&B for drywall repairs, installing crown molding, wainscoting and painting. Without fail, the estimator comes at the appointed time, crews show up when scheduled, take time to protect furniture and other areas, perform the work and clean up before they leave. I recommend this company and will use them in the future. It is refreshing to find a company that takes pride in their work!"

The average cost of installing tile is around $2,000, ranging between $400 and $6,500, depending on the type of tile, square footage of tile, and whether or not your tiling contractor performs site preparation, like removing old tile. On average, you can expect to pay between $5 and $45 per square foot, largely depending on the type and quality of the tiles you choose. For example, ceramic and travertine tile cost about $1 per square foot, but luxury tile options like marble cost up to $350 per square foot, not including labor.
The cost of home remodeling is $50,000 for the average homeowner. However, this cost can range anywhere from $3,000 for a small project to $170,000 for a whole home remodel. Factors like project size, location, and room type all affect your overall cost. For example, bedroom remodeling costs are one of the least expensive projects, costing about $1,500 to $5,500 per bedroom. However, a kitchen remodel has a significant cost range, totaling anywhere from $14,500 to over $70,000.
Yes, most states require home remodeling contractors to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed home remodeling contractor could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
Tile will almost always last longer than laminate flooring, regardless of the type of tile installed. Porcelain tile can last for 75 years or more with proper care, and even less durable ceramic tile will last for 60 years or more, provided they’re installed by a tile professional. On the other hand, laminate flooring has an average lifespan of around 20 years, and you might only get 10 to 15 years out of low-cost laminate flooring. As such, tile will add far more value to your home than laminate.
The cost to install countertops is $3,105 on average. This project cost can range from $400 to $8,500, depending on the material, edging, and countertop size.
Laminate countertops are generally the most cost-efficient, ranging from $8 to $27 per square foot. On the other hand, slate countertops are considered more luxurious and range from $30 to $90 per square foot. There are also countertop materials priced between those two, including stainless steel, granite, Corian, and wood.
