"I called many roofing companies only to be told that the job was too small and they wouldn’t quote the work. This company came out, quoted the job and gave a realistic price and timeline. They did a fantastic job and even asked if we wanted to add having the house pressure washed. We did! We were kept up to date on all the work as it progressed and are happy with the work."

Removing an asphalt roof isn’t terribly expensive, and some roofing companies might cut you a serious labor and disposal discount if you add it to a new install.

The best type of roof vent depends on the size, type, and construction of your roof as well as the environmental conditions in and around your home. In many cases, an active ventilation system that draws in fresh air and exhausts air out through the attic is the most effective. Active ventilation systems include roof ridge vents with baffles, turbine vents, and soffit vents that are used together with another type of vent.

If you’re choosing between a roof overlay and a tear-off, opt for a tear-off and full roof replacement instead of a roof overlay if possible. The cost savings from an overlay can easily be eclipsed by repair costs, the effects of structural damage from the additional weight, and needing to replace your roof sooner than expected. A full replacement will last longer and is less likely to need damage repaired over time.
