"It went extremely well and I’m very happy with the work. Jay did a waterline re-pipe of my home and my water pressure has never been better. Extremely happy with the customer service and the communication with each step along the way. I have referred to friends and family."

"For a while I had crawl space moisture issues due to a sub-grade crawlspace floor and no vapor barrier. Some mold and rot on the floor joists along with a constant humidity problem (especially over the summer) in the house had become too much to deal with. The crawl space fans I had installed a few years back were not accomplishing the task. While researching I found that there are many different "remedies" but found that encapsulation along with conditioning the crawl space air is the best solution. The crawl space doctor's recommendations were exactly that. Also, they installed a sump pump to ensure that any water that would run towards the house in rainy weather would be pumped out immediately.
The work was done quickly and professionally. The crawl space is now like a full insulation barrier and keeps the moisture out of the house. My air conditioner runs less due to the lower humidity in the house and it feels much more comfortable. Overall I am extremely satisfied with this service and I wish I had hired the crawl space doctor years ago.

"Stiles JP Anderson Well and Pump provided a deep well and pump system for our Neighborhood on James Island. Jody was incredibly friendly, professional and responsive. He did work beyond his initial proposal - drilling extra well sites until he was satisfied with the level of water flow - without charging us extra. He was very prompt in communication with us and took time out of his evening schedule to come talk at our Homeowners Association meeting. I would highly recommend them for well and pump services and would be happy to use them again.

"I tried installing a faucet and the plumbing underneath a bathroom sink and cabinet I bought and it leaked pretty badly.   I called Dennis and he came out that day in about a couple of hours.  He installed the faucet and plumbing underneath the sink and did a terrific job in no time at all.  He even waited a 1/2 hour to make sure the sink did not leak.  Dennis was very professional, prompt and he did not even charge me a service call as most do!  His price was great too. Charged me about half of what anyone else would charge minus the service call.  I would recommend him to anyone due to his great prices and work."

"Not good. The water leaks had caused black mold that had to be repaired. When repairs were completed 3 months later, the valves still leaked from the stem when turned on. It was past 60 days so I had to pay another $100 service fee to have the water leaks fixed. He tightened the packing and quoted $350 to replace the valves. Sheesh."

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

The most effective way to fix hard water in your shower is by installing a whole-home water softening system. This system treats water as it enters your home, removing the minerals that cause hardness before they can reach your shower or any other fixtures. While this is the most comprehensive solution, other methods are often temporary fixes. For a more affordable and shower-specific option, you can install a water-softening showerhead or a shower filter. However, these filters are generally less effective and may not remove all the contaminants that lead to limescale and hard water stains. By implementing a water softening solution, you can expect a reduction in mineral deposits and enjoy the benefits of cleaner-feeling hair and skin.

The main difference between a water softener and a water filter is what they remove from the water. A water softener is specifically designed to remove hard minerals, while a filter removes a wider range of contaminants above a certain size, such as bacteria and other impurities. If your primary goal is to remove minerals, a softener is the best choice. If you want to remove various contaminants for safety or taste, a filter is more suitable. Filters are also typically less expensive to install. Depending on your water supply's specific issues, you may need to install both systems for comprehensive treatment.

Most of the U.S. has hard water, especially across portions of the West and Midwest. The areas with the hardest water include parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Illinois, North and South Dakota, Ohio, and New York. You’ll find soft water in parts of New England, the Southeast, the Pacific Northwest, and Hawaii.

Installing a water softener could help reduce calcium buildup in your pool if your pool has high calcium hardness as a result of hard drinking water in your home. Pool softeners work by exchanging calcium and magnesium for sodium, so if you use softened water to top off your pool, it may help keep calcium hardness from rising over time. However, it won’t lower the calcium hardness of the water already in your pool and isn’t a practical way to control pool calcium levels. The average water softener installation cost is between $200 and $6,000.

There are many possibilities for why your shower’s water pressure is low. It might be a simple-to-fix issue like the water valves being partially turned off, a dirty showerhead or hose, leaks in the plumbing, or an old showerhead. However, low water pressure in the shower could also indicate a larger issue with your home’s plumbing system.
