"I was told I had to buy both faucets and 1 of the sinks (stainless steel), and they were buying 1 smaller ceramic sink. No problem. But when I found out it was going to cost me $1000 for the installation, I was floored!! And that was with a supposed discount. So I cancelled them and hired another plumber."

"We recently used AJ's Waterproofing Services to fix our water issues in our basement and we couldn't be happier with the job him and his team did. It was very apparent from our consultation with him that he is the ultimate professional. He spent over an hour and a half with us explaining the issues at hand in our basement and the different options we could go with to remedy the situation. It never once felt like he was out to oversell us or take advantage of us. We knew very quickly he was the man for our job. The day of the French drain install, he sent us multiple updates throughout the day. After they were done for the day, they thoroughly cleaned the area. There were no traces of dust and debris from where they dug up the concrete. We just had a major rain storm and we had no water in the basement. I would highly recommend AJ's Waterproofing for all of your water issue needs."

"After dealing with roto rooter and Losch plumbing with very bad experiences. Thank God for finding Once & Done. Very professional crew, they did a great job in installing the new sump pump that we definitely needed. Jeff was very honest and nice and explained everything that had to be done in detail. "After interviewing a variety of companies to help us out with our water issue in our crawl space, we decided to schedule the work with Pete Westera's Basement System's USA in North East MD and we are so happy with our decision. From the first phone conversation with Tina Reaves (production manager) who scheduled our free estimate, to the estimate appointment with Tim Schlegel (inspector), to the day the work was completed by Jordan (lead technician) and Nate (assistant technician) the experience was a pleasant one. Tina was informative and easy to talk to. Tim was very down to earth, you felt like you could have him over for coffee. He explained everything in great detail and I didn't feel like I was talking to an obnoxious sales guy. He cared about our issues and fixing them the right way and the cost effective way. It was refreshing to have him break down all the parts/equipment to decided what was worth spending the money on and what we could stand to forego while still solving our problem. He created a blueprint on his laptop in our kitchen and explained every detail. He allowed us a few days to make our decision just as we told him that we need and he wasn't pushy with the follow up, but still kept in touch. His personality, attitude and sales tactics were a huge selling factor in the reason that we selected this company. We also loved the idea that the company and the owner were local to our area and that the own was a preacher. They also have an excellent warranty that covers the life of the structure making it comforting to know that the warranty can transfer through multiple owners without any "fine print" snags. They originally had the next available install date about 30 days from the day we received the estimate. Due to our busy life schedule, a honeymoon, and the upcoming cold weather we were in a time crunch and requested to have it done in 2 weeks. Tim and Tina made some calls and made it happen, again helping us out big time. The week before the install we were out of the country on our Honeymoon and I communicated with Tina asking that she reach out to my Mom in the event of any last minute changes, she made a note on the account and everything went smoothly. The install crew arrived on time and the lead Jordan was excellent at communicating with me from the time that they arrived to the house, to excellent detailed description of what they we actually doing as they performed the work, to the time they took a brief lunch break and the follow up the following day when he had to return to finish the drain outside. They were both very courteous, they worked very hard all day, they were easy to talk to and maintained a very clean work environment both inside and outside of my home as they completed this project. The company also offers a financing option of up to 6 months with 0% interest which was very appealing to help us pay off this project in a timely manner without racking up another high interest home project credit card. From start to finish we couldn't be happier. Now 5 days post install I am happy to report that our system is operating properly and it was well worth the money (a very competitive price I might add) to have the piece of mind to know that we received quality workmanship and to no longer have the fear of further expensive water damage or cringing every time that it rains. Thank you very much to Basement Systems USA and their entire team. I will be sure to pass your name along to anyone in the market for your expertise!"

Storm Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

Depending on your design preferences, the storm door can match either the front door or the trim. If you want the storm door to blend into the frame, you can choose a storm door that matches your home’s trim. If you want to draw attention to the front door, choose a storm door that matches your front door.

If you know the damage a hurricane can cause, you know how essential it is to protect your home. Getting ready for hurricane season can go beyond roofing reinforcement and extend to other external entry points where water and wind could damage your home. You may want to install hurricane window film to protect windows and glass doors or invest in storm windows. Storm windows cost an average of $12,000 and offer impact-resistant window surfaces with a better chance of fending off high winds.

There are several types of storm doors, including vinyl-clad, steel-clad, aluminum, and wood-core, and each type has its own benefits. For example, vinyl-clad storm doors are excellent at keeping out water, while steel-clad storm doors hold up well against high winds. There are also multiple styles of storm doors, ranging from full-view (made entirely of glass) to high-view (with just a small glass panel).

A well-installed storm door in good condition can increase your home's value. This upgrade is more than just an aesthetic change; it adds functionality, security, and insulation that can appeal to buyers. While it may not significantly raise the sale price on its own, a storm door improves curb appeal and can help attract more potential buyers. However, a shabby or poorly maintained one could have the opposite effect.

Storm doors last about 25 years, although high-quality and well-maintained storm doors could last up to 50 years. The type of storm door can impact lifespan, so be sure to consider the durability of different frame materials and glass types before making a purchase. Also, keep in mind that while storm doors can typically mitigate the impact of strong winds and harsh weather, repeated exposure to storms can wear down the door and shorten its lifespan.
