"I sought three bids for this work in mid-March. One contractor declined to give me a bid, out of concern about how to deal with aluminum tiles. I called Northwest Shine and the other bidder about how they would go about doing the work. Both gave thoughtful answers, making me feel comfortable about proceeding. I selected Northwest Shine as it was the low bidder. We scheduled the work for April 24. That morning, we received a call that they would be late, needing to pick up some items. That was no problem with us and we appreciated the call. They arrived at 9:00 and worked steadily until close to 4:00. They were very courteous, letting us know when a sample area was done, so we could see how it was working. They sprayed an orange-based solution on the tiles and rinsied it off with a soft power wash. They had to repeat this process several times in areas where the algae was the worse. They moved our lawn furniture to avoid having it hit by the spray, replacing it after they were done. They cleaned up the leaves and other debris washed from the gutters and left the area looking clean. We are very pleased with the cleaning of the tiles. The black algae is gone. We would definitely use Northwest Shine again.

"We had three very competitive bids including Classic Pro. We were impressed with the details that were covered in the bid, so that many of our concerns were addressed up front. Then Dave Friesen was conscientious about following up and answering the questions we had, e.g., how much attention would be paid to prep, paint quality (we ended up using Benjamin Moore, which Dave felt was the best), timing, care about landscaping, etc. We were so confident in Dave that we picked the main color and asked him to choose the trim and detail--he made wonderful suggestions that we approved. People stop by all of the time and ask us about colors and contractor. Everything worked as Dave promised, and since we weren't able to have a new garage door installed during the week he painted, he came back later on a weekend to complete the job. It's great to do business with a company president like Dave. It's too bad he's not running the country."

"After inspecting our foundation earlier, Q determined that we needed a sump pump (which we suspected). His quote was reasonable compared to others we had heard about, so we went ahead with it.
His team of three guys worked hard for two days digging drainage trenches and installing the pump in a couple of feet of standing water. We then had to wait about a week for the water to pump out and to dry out so a new vapor barrier and gravel could be added. This was done during a cold winter where it took longer for the area to thaw and dry out so the delay was kind of a bummer, but not at all Ethereal's fault.
When they returned, they were able to finish up in one day (so three days of work total) and cleaned up after themselves very well. The guys were pleasant and happy to answer questions during the work and Q was careful to follow up and check on the work. All in all a great group to work with as long as you're realistic about the work necessary and time involved."

"EVERYTHING WAS GOOD WITH THE ESTIMATE AND THE INITIAL INSTALLATION, BUT THEN THE PERSON DOING THE WORK DIDN'T SHOW UP FOR 2 DAYS( WE LATER LEARNED HAD VEHICLE TROUBLE) BUT WE JUST SHUT DOWN THE JOB AS NOT MUCH AS LEFT TO DO AND WE NEEDED TO MOVE FORWARD. "Overall, the project went very well. Mark was great to work with - he totally got the vision for the bathroom update. The work involved moving plumbing, moving electrical, replacing a window, replacing the tub, retiling the shower, retiling the floor, putting up drywall, installing a new countertop Travis is a wizard with a tile saw, and I must say that the quality and workmanship; is unmatched. While the bulk of the work was being performed, Mark & Travis were right on point - it was great to see progress being made every day. They were also totally respectful of the living space and in general, great guys. If there's a sour note in this symphony, it's that the last 5% of the job (installing the window, minor finishing touches) took about as long to complete - 4-5 weeks - as the major work did. The project started in July 2015 and wrapped up in early October, though the bathroom was totally functional (i.e. 95% done) by Labor Day. After Labor Day it was difficult to get in contact with Mark and schedule the final work; a situation in which I think any customer/contractor might find themselves in at the end of a project, as I imagine he had other jobs to ramp up and manage during that time."

"We had a badly installed shower floor replaced by the tile guys in October 2018. It was beautiful and appeared well done when complete. They were fast and appeared diligent and skillful during the repair work. 5 years later, we saw the pebble tile floor starting to fail. It began sinking in multiple locations and chipping grout, allowing water to weep between and under the pebble tile causing its substrate to dissolve, causing the tile above it to sink in the dissolved cavity. After hiring another team to demo the shower floor for the second time, we're seeing that substandard practices and materials were contributing to the tile floor failure. Our current repair team still doesn't understand why there was foam installed under the pebble tile waterproofing "fabric layer". Also, the mortar used to attempt to fuse the tile to the fabric never did adhere and the new team was able to easily and cleanly pull the pebble tile and mortar off of the fabric with their fingers."
