"I had a lot of work that needed done. Bohemia electricians listened to what I needed done, made suggestions and provided written quote for each work item. If I needed electrical work done again, I’d hired them in a heartbeat. They were professional, cleaned up the area each time they worked. Coordinated with other contractors - plumbing, drywall, hvac, etc effectively."

"James was wonderful!!! He answered my request in a very timely way, had good suggestions for my project, which I took. I bought 2 used similar bookcases and the top of a hutch, he picked them up, made some requested adjustments to the 3 parts, painted the units, installed them as 1 wall unit and bolted to the wall!!! And the unit is BEAUTIFUL!!! I have waited several years for these and am so HAPPY! I will/would use Mr. Hanum again!"

"DO NOT EVEN THINK OF USING ANY OTHER COMPANY!! Alpines electricians and installers and management are the kindest, hard-working, most competent people you could ever want. My heat pump died the week before this terrible life endangering heat wave. I am very elderly with several severe physical disabilities and live in a metal manufactured house which heats up better than my oven! Alpines kind management, when informed that the dog and I were on the verge of fainting in the house which was over 105 degrees inside, sent their installation team over the next day, despite their schedule being backed up. Alpines price was competitive and the equipment is highly rated. I am pretty certain Alpine literally saved my life, because I had nowhere else to stay or live and the temp is expected to go to 114 degrees this weekend. The two electricians, the two installers, the supervisors, and the owner were all cheerful, pleasant, and worked no-stop from about 8:30 am to 8 pm to get the new heat pump up and working beautifully with no problems or hitches. I made sandwiches for lunch and they barely stopped working long enough to eat and to rest a little. The temperature inside the house was close to or at 100 degrees, but they kept working. All the Alpine employees were kind people whom I felt very lucky to have in my house. I could write forever, but I could never fully express my gratitude to Alpines wonderful employees,"

Generator Install questions, answered by experts

In Eugene, most generator installation projects take between one and seven days, depending on whether you’re installing a portable or standby system. Permit approval can add two to four weeks, especially during the wet season when demand is higher. Scheduling inspections and coordinating with local utilities may also extend timelines, so it’s smart to plan installations during drier months for smoother progress.

Helpful?

In Eugene, review your electrical panel’s capacity—older systems may need upgrades for generator compatibility. Generator installation can interact with solar panels, sump pumps, or HVAC systems, especially if circuits overlap. Outdoor units may alter landscape drainage, and adding a fuel line could impact existing gas appliances. Watch for changes in system performance, such as flickering lights or unusual heating issues, after installation.

Helpful?

In Eugene, a common mistake is underestimating the impact of heavy rainfall, leading to poor site drainage and water exposure. Homeowners sometimes skip necessary permits or choose an undersized generator for homes with electric heat. Failing to properly install transfer switches, placing units too close to windows, and not coordinating with local utilities are other frequent issues that can cause safety or performance problems.

Helpful?

In Eugene, older electrical panels—especially in homes built before the 1980s—often require upgrades to safely integrate a generator. Outdoor installation sites need robust weatherproofing and proper drainage due to frequent rain. Transfer switches and fuel supply lines are also vulnerable to moisture and temperature swings, so regular inspection of these components is essential to ensure reliable generator operation.

Helpful?

In Eugene, begin each fall by testing your generator and inspecting weatherproofing before heavy rains arrive. During winter, check weekly for water intrusion or ice buildup around the unit and test operation regularly. Spring is ideal for cleaning vents and inspecting transfer switches for corrosion. In summer, run monthly tests and clear debris from the installation area. Always coordinate with local utilities when performing major checks or maintenance.
