The Oregon Garden near Salem is a perfect place to see hundreds of flowers and plants. If you are seeing hundreds of spiders in your home it is time to call Pointe Pest Control. We are Salem’s local solution to spider infestations. One of the most common spiders we see in Oregon is the giant house spider. Its size might be frightening, but its venom is harmless. The most dangerous spider is the black widow. Any bite from a black widow should be considered dangerous. When you call Pointe Pest Control, we arrive to your home an offer a free inspection. We will help you identify the spider. We don’t stop with arachnids; our technicians eliminate all pest infestations. Wasps, rodents, ants, or bed bugs; we can eradicate any pest.

"Don’t waste your time or money. Called for attic rats. Was told that the issue was old and the rats are gone, which was completely incorrect. They treated for mice (which we still have) then told me that to treat for rats would be an additional $800. When a dead rat was found, the service person refused to remove it stating, “[they] didn’t want to get their clothes dirty.” Bait and switch service. No pun intended. I’ve never been unhappier with a service in my life. I will never use this company for any reason whatsoever."

Animal Removal questions, answered by experts

You might be tempted to call your local municipality to remove animals from your property, such as a groundhog burrowing in your yard or raccoons getting into your trash cans. However, they typically only remove domestic animals like dogs and cats from properties, or sick and injured wildlife that pose a public safety risk or health threat, such as a rabid animal. They typically do not capture or remove healthy wildlife.

Animal removal professionals have the tools, knowledge, and skills to trap and remove wild animals adequately and humanely. They also can relocate them correctly.

Whereas a honeybee can only sting you once, a yellow jacket can sting you multiple times because they don’t leave stingers in the skin. In the unfortunate case that you get stung by a yellow jacket, it’s important to react calmly and quickly. Immediately ice the affected area until the swelling subsides. You may also take an antihistamine if necessary. If you experience an allergic reaction to a yellow jacket sting or have been stung several times, seek medical care right away.

Honey bees are most likely to swarm during spring and early summer, typically from April through June, as colonies expand and prepare for new growth. Swarming occurs when a hive becomes overcrowded, prompting the queen and a group of worker bees to leave in search of a new nesting site. During this time, you may notice a temporary increase in bee activity around your property.

You should never try to remove a bee's nest yourself because it can be extremely dangerous. The amount of bees that can live in a hive depends on the type of bee, but honey bees can have up to 80,000 bees living in a hive. People who are allergic to bees can have life-threatening reactions from a single sting. So, it's best to leave bee nest removal to the professionals who have the knowledge and equipment to do so safely.

In certain cases, yes, the bees may go away on their own, but it’s a risk. Some bee types, such as bumblebees, create seasonal nests and then die out as their new queens seek homes elsewhere. But in most cases, you can’t count on the bees leaving naturally. It’s also not a great idea to leave openings in your walls any longer than you have to, which can attract other pests or cause moisture damage.
