"Clearwater Construction services was a great company to work with. CJ was attentive and communicative which is hard to find in this business. Every person that came out was polite and cleaned up very well. The subs they used were top notch and I would use any of them again. They did what they said they would do and did it on time. We were so impressed how they cared for the house while working on it. They treated it like their own. I highly recommend them for any work they can do and I will use them again when needed."

"Noah and his team are truly wonderful to work with. Noah kept in close contact with us and was able to add items we decided on during the project. We couldn’t be happier with the final product. We have already contracted Chumbley Construction to remodel our bathroom based on this experience."

"Pacific Northwest Cabinetry recently completed a full kitchen remodel in our 50-year old home. Choosing this company was the right decision for us—They delivered a high quality result with exceptional service. We are very pleased with our new kitchen, and the project was completed on time and on budget. The entire process was as easy on us as a project this size can be, due to Peter’s commitment to customer service and hard work. He has assembled an outstanding team of contractors who were a pleasure to work with through the planning, design and installation. Peter provides a detailed project schedule and daily communication and photos once work is underway. He always responded right away when we reached out with a question or request, and he provided all the information we needed to make informed and quick decisions when things popped up. I will be reaching out to Peter again soon for help with our next project!"

Greenhouses and Nurseries questions, answered by experts

Eco-friendly materials include sustainably-sourced woods, recycled metals, low-VOC paints, and non-toxic sealants, which reduce environmental impact. Using these in repairs promotes sustainability and can improve indoor air quality and overall building health.

The quickest way you can protect plants and trees from frost is to cover them with garden blankets or frost cloths. Also, bringing potted plants or trees indoors is much simpler than trying to cover and protect them outdoors. Remember to anchor blankets with something such as sandbags, fabric pins, or rocks if the forecast calls for strong winds to keep them from blowing away and exposing your trees and plants.

Minor fixes like patching leaks or repainting are DIY-friendly, but structural repairs require professional expertise.

In most cases, wait three to five days to repot or relocate a plant from a greenhouse or nursery. That way, your plant has time to recover from any shock during the move and adapt to the conditions in and around your home. Some hearty plants may not need as long, and delicate plants might need several weeks. You should ask the professional at your nursery for a recommended timeline. Consider asking about an initial watering schedule to help stimulate root growth and promote a healthy plant.

Adding burnt charcoal to your garden beds and plant pots can yield several benefits, but there are risks involved, too. Charcoal, particularly biochar, can enhance soil structure, improve water drainage, and increase nutrient retention. When activated, charcoal provides key nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. However, burnt charcoal, especially from briquettes, can inadvertently alter soil's pH levels and become hazardous to plants. Overall, there are better and less risky soil amendments available, such as vermiculite, perlite, or wood chips.
