"Our regular, longtime yard maintenance professional got injured in a car accident and was unfortunately injured enough to be out of commission for the foreseeable future. We contacted a few different companies and found JZ Brothers to be responsive, professional, and very reasonable priced. They have completed initial yard clean-up, and did a great job! We look forward to working with their friendly and talented crew regularly for our lawn maintenance and other yard/house projects."

"Actually, in our SECOND house, we had no lawn, but they did a Wonderful Job with the lawn on our first house for a decade! Gilbert and crew, like clockwork, appeared in our yard, every week, no matter what, and cared for our landscaping needs brilliantly."

Small jobs welcome

"Jamie and his assistant were prompt, organized, hard workers, polite and kind. They arrived early., got right to work, did everything they had said they would do and the cleanup of their work was fantastic. They worked hard and do a fantastic job cleaning up weeds and blackberries in the yard in the garden in the creek and in the flowerbeds . The winter cleanup is now done and all I have to do is wait for spring so I can putt around the garden and plant bulbs and enjoy the yard. I put their phone number in my phone so I wouldnâ t lose it. They did such a good job I will be calling them again. I am so glad I found such a good company. Fantastic!!!"

"Great experience. I have a 5 acre property with 2 sloped acres of field. They mow it effectively, reseed well, prune large trees, and are generally helpful with everything yard related."

Lawns questions, answered by experts

If your dog always does their business in the yard, daily poop pick-up makes sense. The nitrogen in the poop can start making its way into the grass and surrounding soil quickly, a rain shower can send the waste into waterways, and less poop lying around means less chance of stepping on it accidentally.

The frequency of gardening service visits depends on two significant factors—the service and your budget. If you’re a gardening DIYer and only need someone to check on your plant's health quality, you might not need many visits throughout the year. However, if you love the idea of a garden but don't have the time or patience to plant, water, and maintain your garden, you might need weekly visits (or more, depending on the weather).

The pros are the precise treatments, such as aeration and fertilization, which protect and prepare your lawn for thriving warmer months.

The best way to landscape your front yard on a budget is to invest in hiring a professional for hardscaping—things like upgrading walkways, redoing driveways, and installing partitions around garden beds. You can often do the softscaping yourself—think laying down mulch, caring for your lawn, removing weeds, and planting flowers and shrubs. It’s also almost always worthwhile to pay a professional for routine yard maintenance, as this dramatically improves curb appeal and delivers above 100% ROI in most cases.

A thorn bush isn’t likely to do serious damage, but it’ll definitely hurt if you get a thorn or two in your hand or arm. When removing thorn bushes, always wear thick gloves, long sleeves, and safety goggles to protect against thorns and dirt. If dealing with larger bushes or unfamiliar terrain, consider enlisting a helper for assistance.
