"Volodymyr is absolutely the best handyman I?ve worked with. He fixed all of my small issues very quickly and with great attention to detail. He assembled a table for me and took care of a few other simple tasks, and everything was done efficiently and professionally. He made my life so much easier, and I truly appreciate his reliability and quality of work. I already know I will be calling him again in the future. Highly recommend ? a true professional!"

Customers say: Quick response

"I hired Mary Berry after looking up a handyman on Home Advisor. Mark came over and we discussed putting up a 10 X 10 metal gazebo that we had purchased at Lowes. He even went to Lowes to look at the gazebo before doing the install. Mark's price was very reasonable. Since I had a stroke and balance is not good, I could no longer do this myself. The day he came over to do the estimate, he even unclogged a gutter for me for free. Mark is very professional yet very friendly and keeps at the project until its done. Very much bang for the buck here! I greatly recommend him for any sort of work you may need done around the home or business. I will use him again for other work I need done. Thank's Mark for the great install."

Customers say: Terrific value

"We had the handyman, Kelly, replace a bad electrical outlet in our kitchen, and test all the others (he found another one that needed replacing and did that too). Ace Handyman Service was able to get to us quickly, did the work efficiently and safely. Very experienced - as has been every handyman we've gotten from Ace and Handyman Matters."

"Joshua was quick to respond to providing us a bid for our deck. Our project changed a little as we moved forward and he gave us detailed options for how we could proceed. Our finished deck is far better than what was previously there, and it was completed as outlined and on schedule."

Handyman Services questions, answered by experts

You can tackle hanging Christmas lights yourself with the right tools, accessories, and a trusted friend or neighbor. You’ll need to purchase a ladder ($100 to $300), clips ($10 to $20), hooks ($10 to $15), and lights ($25 to $100 per string).

Otherwise, you should hire a trusted holiday light installer near you. You’ll pay an average price of $200 to $650, but you’ll have peace of mind knowing that the job is done correctly and safely.

Whether a scullery is worth it depends on how much you like to cook and entertain. If you frequently host gatherings—a scullery is likely worth the money. If you’re looking for ROI, it’s not so clear. It may not add significant value to your home, as it doesn’t increase square footage and may repurpose space that a buyer would have preferred to remain as-is (like a laundry room).

A contractor specializes in a specific field. They often operate in teams where they have subcontractors to handle specialized problems. So if you have significant plumbing, drywall, or roofing issues, you’ll want to hire a contractor, as the job may require a team.

A handyperson is typically one person who works on whatever jobs come their way. You wouldn’t call a contractor to fix the hinges on cabinets or paint your room. Instead, a handyperson can handle all these issues, saving you from making multiple phone calls.

Whether or not you’re moving the hookups or simply replacing your current units, you should hire a qualified appliance pro to install your new washer and dryer.

There are a few advantages to hiring a handyperson as a contractor, namely that they will likely charge less for their services since they don’t have as much overhead. A handyperson might also have more flexibility and be more involved in your specific home project, so you can communicate with one person instead of a subcontractor team.
