Dee's Cleaning is a name I came up with while trying to look for names for my business! The first thing that popped up in my mind was why don't u name it after yourself (Dee) I have a special passion for cleaning I've been cleaning for as long as grandma was in the kitchen rolling out dough making rolls of bread lol I was just her little helper, cleaning up with her was my joy. I've been cleaning all my life I've become a natural and I let my work speak for its self and I am always looking for more ways to improve also love getting feedback. I think that's the only way to improve. My hours and schedule is open just one call away thanks for your business -Dee

Upholstering questions, answered by experts

The time to reupholster a couch often ranges from one to three weeks, depending on the upholsterer's workload, fabric availability, and the complexity of your couch. This breaks down between 10 and 20 hours if you hire a professional, or 20 to 40 hours if you DIY. Custom features or repairs may extend the timeline.

Ongoing maintenance of your leather furniture is the only way to prevent it from peeling and cracking. Real leather will peel and crack as it dries out. Leather conditioners are a great way to protect your leather furniture from drying out, and you’ll need to apply it about twice each year. It’s also a good idea to keep abrasive materials away from your leather to prevent cracking and peeling, including belt buckles, shoes, and multi-surface cleaners, especially those that contain alcohol.

To safeguard your furniture and upholstered items, it's best to use plastic wrap or specially-made plastic sofa covers. However, you should avoid wrapping wooden furniture in plastic if you plan on storing it, as plastic can trap moisture and warp the wood, plus it may damage certain finishes. In either case, old blankets or moving blankets make excellent alternatives. For protecting delicate glass table tops and mirrors, bubble wrap is always a reliable choice.

Pros cover many fixes, from upholstery renewals to joint reinforcement.

Doing your own upholstery work is possible, but it’s typically a better idea to leave the work to professionals. Without experience and the proper tools, it’s difficult to get a professionally finished appearance for your furniture, and many DIYers end up spending money on tools and materials only to hire a professional when they can’t get the fabric to look right. If you have reupholstery experience, feel free to give it a shot. However, if you’re not confident in your skill level or you’re working with antiques, it’s worth the money to hire a pro.
