"Don was very knowledgeable about carper cleaning with fabrics and various materials of carpets and how to clean them. I very pleased on how the carpet cleaned and sanitized and he also got the stains out of two of my upholstered chairs. I would recommend him to my family and friends. He also contacted my immediately and was able to come in two days. His price was very reasonable. He has been in the profession for over 30 yrs and the quality of his work shows it."

Customers say: Quick response

"So we had a custom entertainment center built. We initially were gonna use a California closet type of business but wanted real wood not laminates. He met with us quickly and got a plan together. The process took about 8 weeks from first meeting to being completed but this was during the Xmas season. He kept in touch and kept us updated. He brought the finished product in to the house and installed it over 1.5 days. The quality was top notch. The painting of the product actually looks flawless. Very happy and impressed. Cost was very reasonable compared to laminate and non wood products.i would submit pictures but some reason it s not offering that option."

"By far, this is the best carpet/upholstery-cleaning/ business I have ever dealt with! I am so impressed with their professionalism, expertise, and thoroughness that I can't stop raving about them to friends and family. Although I don't write many reviews, this family-owned company deserves to be recognized. No doubt I will call them for my next cleaning!"

Upholstering questions, answered by experts

If your couch is damaged, you are not out of options. You might try fixing it on your own, bring in a furniture repair specialist, or opt to get rid of it responsibly. Depending on its condition, you could donate, sell, recycle, or drop it off at a local scrap facility.

The average cost to reupholster a piece of furniture is around $720, with most projects falling in the $380 to $1,150 range. The final price can vary significantly based on several factors. These include the size and complexity of the furniture, the cost of the new fabric (which typically ranges from $50 to $70 per yard), and hourly labor rates (often $40 to $100 per hour). Additional factors that influence the price are the piece's current condition, its age, whether it needs other repairs, the number of pieces being reupholstered, and your geographic location.

When hiring an upholsterer, look for a pro with experience in your chair type, positive reviews, and a portfolio of completed projects. Ask about their process, timeline, warranty, and whether they are insured. Getting multiple quotes from reupholsterers in your area and checking their references can help ensure quality and fair pricing.

It is possible to reupholster directly over old material in some cases, and it can save you a bit of money. If you are going to go this route, make sure you use a darker color than you had previously. Otherwise, you might see the old fabric beneath the new material. You should also keep in mind that reupholstering over old material is only possible with certain materials. For example, reupholstering over leather usually isn’t possible. You can ask your professional to see if this is an option for your piece.

Part of the beauty of academia decor is that most textures and materials will feel right at home, provided they’re dark. Some common textures include natural wood, dark metals like iron, velvet, and leather. Incorporating these into your dark academia decor will make them look right at home. Glass is another option in some cases, so fill in gaps in your decor with small glass jars, or really lean on the gothic roots of dark academia with stained glass.
