"Mr.Electic and Ryan, as well as the electrician, were all amazing. My electric panel burned out at night. I called them at 10pm and they had a representative at my house the following morning. They're quote was within market rates with a bit of an expected mark-up for urgency. It was definitely reasonably priced, especially since i couldn't find anyone else able to do the job right away. Long story short, the electrician was at my house the very next day after the quote and did an AMAZING job installing a larger panel. They needed to cut the wall to make more space and did it in a way that is practically invisible from the outside. You really cannot go wrong with this provider."

"Steve was great! He was able to fit us into his schedule quickly and work around our tricky availability. He's incredibly friendly and professional. If you want good work done at a very reasonable price, Go with Steve @ Quick Connect. He made quick work of our lath and plaster walls and added the 4 outlets we needed. I'd hire him again in a heartbeat!"

"I estimate I have just under $100k in electronics and appliances in my house. We have significant lightning storms in my location. To NOT have lightning suppression installed is significant risk in my mind based on my location in New Jersey. RS LIGHTNING PROTECTION was responsive with a quick cost estimate and a reasonable price based on my research for installation. By the way...installation is part art, such as bends in cable are not more than 90 degrees. It's not just about running grounded cables. This installation in conjunction with surge protection on my electrical panel performed by my electrician and cable protection gives me significant piece of mind that all my appliances and electronics are protected from lightning and any potential surge generated by a near strike. Mr Richard Sherlock knows his subject. Highly recommended. Five stars."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

When hiring electrical pros in Amherst, confirm they have experience with local permit requirements and are knowledgeable about regional weather’s impact on wiring. Ensure they carry valid insurance and can provide references from recent Amherst projects. Request detailed written estimates, verify emergency service availability for winter outages, and check if they’re familiar with older home electrical systems common in the area.

Helpful?

For electrical projects in Amherst, prioritize THHN/THWN copper wiring for durability in varying temperatures, and use PVC conduit for underground installations to withstand moisture. EMT conduit is ideal for exposed indoor runs, especially in basements common to Amherst homes. Install GFCI outlets in kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor areas, and select weather-resistant covers for exterior outlets to handle Ohio’s seasonal weather changes.

Helpful?

After electrical work in Amherst, schedule any required inspections and keep all permits and warranty documents accessible. Test all GFCI outlets, smoke detectors, and carbon monoxide alarms for proper function. Inspect outdoor electrical components before winter, and review your electrical panel annually—especially in homes over 30 years old. Notify your insurance provider about upgrades for potential policy adjustments and added peace of mind.

Helpful?

To enhance safety in Amherst homes, install tamper-resistant outlets in living areas and GFCI protection near water sources. Use conduit or protective covers where pets may access wiring, and secure electrical panels with childproof locks. Weatherproof all outdoor outlets, consider whole-house surge protection for storm season, and regularly test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to meet Ohio fire code and keep your family safe.

Helpful?

Amherst offers residential electricians for home wiring, panel upgrades, and code compliance, as well as commercial contractors for businesses and local schools. Some contractors specialize in generator installation, which is valuable during winter storms, while others focus on smart home technology or solar power. Many local pros are experienced with Amherst’s older housing stock and unique electrical challenges, including weatherproofing and energy efficiency.
