"We were remodeling our kitchen (total from the studs) and needed a lot of electrical work done. I had contacted four different companies for estimates. One was too busy to do the job, another say he would get back to me and I never heard from him again, another was so arrogant I was starting to worry if I was going to find a company that I could trust. I contacted Jason,  he was so professional and told me he could do the job and gave me a very fair price which fit my budget. I saw all the great reviews on Angie's list which also helped me make my decision. Jason is a true professional who takes great pride in his company.
We added an island and had to have electric in the island to be up to code. We are on a slab and had to have a trench  made in the floor to supply the electric to the island (to small job), also had led lighting in my vaulted ceiling, under cabinet led lighting, led puck light in a corner cabinet, wired for over cabinet lighting,  plus all new receptacles. Pretty much rewired the whole kitchen. Bob did the majority of the work, he did a great job. He was very neat and respectful of my home.
I knew right from the moment I met with Jason that the job was going to be done right and it was.  I highly recommend JAC Electric to anyone who needs electrical work done!

"Phil was on-time, professional, courteous, and the price is competitive. He quickly identified the problem and resolved the issue that we have had for over 3 years, and clearly explained the problem. Setting up the appointment was also easy and quick. We will be using PM Lighting as our electrician in the future."

"Ryan Farnsworth and his father Ron both exceeded my expectations to the highest level. I could not be happier with the job and service they provided for me. Recently, I had to have new windows installed in this room which was badly neglected due to moisture and insects. The window installer did a great job with the windows, but they of course could not finish the inside of the room to make it useful. I was only able to complete 1/2 the room due to cost, but they will be more than welcome to come back when I'm ready to complete it."

"Paul has worked for me several times.  He is always punctual, professional and responsive to requests.  He cleans up carefully.  Even though the weather was not on our side this time, he made sure to get the primer on before the omnipresent rain.  I will certainly call him again when I have painting to be done.

Lighting questions, answered by experts

Testing tools, such as Christmas light testers, non-contact proximity electrical testers, and multimeters, all simplify the process of testing Christmas lights. However, without one or more of those tools, testing Christmas lights the old-fashioned way only works sometimes. Without testing tools, the simplest testing method is visual inspection, which may or may not yield positive results.

Replacing a pool light costs about $625 per light. If you only need to replace the light bulb, plan on paying about $20 to $100 per light. The largest cost factors include the type of pool light, the number of pool lights needed, and the labor costs in your location. But additional cost factors include work required on existing wiring, other repairs, and the continual maintenance needed to keep your pool light in good working condition after installation.

You can take a few steps to prolong the life of your holiday lights. Make sure to replace burnt-out bulbs as quickly as possible to avoid overloading the rest of the circuit and knocking out more lights. Before packing them up each year, plug each strand into the wall to confirm everything is still working. Wrap the lights carefully back into their original packaging or something similar—winding a strand tightly together or leaving it to hang loose in a storage bin can lead to frayed or damaged wiring.

The majority of potential burglars are amateurs looking to make a quick buck after breaking and entering. By installing motion-sensor lights, alarm systems, and security cameras, throughout the home, there’s a good chance you will deter crime on your property.

Yes, outdoor lights and receptacles should be on a ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) for safety. The outdoors is considered a wet location where GFCI protection is generally required. A GFCI enhances safety by automatically tripping and shutting off the circuit if it detects an imbalance, which protects against electrocution and reduces the risk of an electrical fire. While it is the safest approach for all outdoor electrical components, specific requirements can vary depending on the type of light (e.g., pool lights), its location, and local electrical codes. For guidance tailored to your specific situation, it's best to consult a professional electrician.
